Upon arriving At Samario's in Scranton we were politely told by a young waitress they could not accommodate us for dining because it was past their timeframe of 9:00 PM. In disbelief we reasoned it was only three minutes past and asked to speak with a manager. The manager approached and seemed somewhat arrogant and rude by stating if we were just one minute past 9:00 PM we'd be too late. Stunned, we left and decided to spend our money elsewhere. It goes to show you not only do you go out of your way to be loyal customer and patronize a neighborhood restaurant but they'll think nothing of kicking you to the curb as a thanks! I feel the manager could've exercised discretion and better judgement. I will never spend another nickel at either Samarios location and urge family, friends and others not to as well! The very best pizza in Tunkhannock!!! Also great meatball subs ! Crispy crust which I like , sausage on pizza tasty . The meatballs on sub are soft & delish. I notice many people complaining on here , seems like all they like to do . This place is always busy , I think that says something !!! read more

Funny story: I'm visiting my parents and they plan to order Pizza Hut, but that doesn't sound like good pizza to me. I'm a Pizza Hut snob, I guess. So I find this place, and got a large square cut veggie, and a small pepperoni. My parents got what they usually get from Pizza Hut, and we bring it all home. Our pizza is undercooked on top, the veggies are cooked and the bottom of the crust is crispy, but somehow the top is mushy and wet. The pepperoni pizza was pretty good. But the Pizza Hut looked pretty good in comparison. I thought I would turn them on to some better pizza, but was disappointed, and paid a lot more! The crust of the square pizza is thick and chewy. We also ordered a caesar salad which was good, but nothing special. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to swing in for a slice of pizza on a Friday night before we caught a movie next door. Huge mistake. The place is tiny; barely any room to sit and Eat in. They had hardly any sliced pizza available to purchase. I ordered the square pizza and my friend got a round slice. The pizza was decent, but nothing I'd ever crave. My friend ordered a salad but they never brought it out. As we were leaving and trying to pay with the mad rush line, they said it was done. I didn't pay for it. Awful. Ordered 3 items. The order taker missed an item. I don't know how she missed it. All she appeared to be doing was taking our order at the time. Obviously thinking of something else. A hot sandwich was done in about 7 minutes and then sat on the counter for 20 minutes getting cold while we waited for the last item. I mentioned that the hot sandwich had sat there for 20 minutes and was told that they usually keep it over there... That's great, but it sat here this time. The stromboli was bland. The menu says it comes with red sauce. I asked about the red sauce and was told that it was inside. It was not inside. Cheesesteaks are good. The experience was not. Horrible customer service wife wanted to pick up garlic knots for a homemade spaghetti and meatball dinner just wanted something different then traditional butter bread. Were not from the area saw a pizza shop popped in to order 2 orders of garlic knots. But ya would of thought She asked them to help her hide a body. My husband and I had driven by Samario's numerous times and observed the people leaving this establishment, they all had huge smiles on their faces. Because of this we decided to try it. We ordered a 12 cut square pizza with mushrooms and sausage. When we arrived to pick it up the smells alone made you instantly hungry. We were greeted with friendly hellos from staff and big smiles. Instantly we felt comfortable. Now comes the best part the pizza it was absolutely amazing, better than pizza hut and any place we have tried in sullivan county. It is definitely worth the drive. They have an extensive menu and there are many more items we plan to try and I am positive it will continue to be worth it. read more

I went to Samarios a few nights ago and i have nothing but good things to say about this place! First off the staff was very friendly when we went inside. The kitchen appeared to be very clean and well kept. The food was extremely reasonably priced. Most importantly the food was absolutely fantastic. We ordered their double crust cheese steak pizza, eggplant chicken parm hoagie, old fashioned pizza and their boneless mild chicken chunks; all of which were extremely delicious (especially the boneless chicken chunks). 10/10 would recommend coming here and giving this place a try, you will not regret it. read more

As I write this review I am not a happy camper. I'm taking time to leave the review to hopefully help people learn to when to get Samarios... they have great cheesesteaks but are the most inconsistent.... after around my 10th visit I finally found the problem. Pay attention to who is on the flattop, some workers make a stake sandwich that could be on food network, the others make cheese steaks I throw out. It's an expensive gamble at 8 dollars a sandwich . read more

Horrible. I called to order a turkey hoagie on an weekday. Asked for red onion the woman on the phone said she had to ask if they had red onion. She continued to tell me it came with tomatoes and mayo- I said I only wanted lettuce and onion with American cheese. Got the hoagie- it was the worst quality turkey ever- it had slime and fat edges I tried to work around. The cheese was melted. The bread was stale. The chef was not wearing a mask. Overall- I gave up and couldn't eat it because I was so grossed out. They're always rude. The pizza is SOMETIMES decent. I wish a different pizza place was there. read more

As a customer I've always enjoyed their service and quality of food. Today will be the last time ordering from this place. I wanted to try something new bruschetta pizza. This pizza is shown on their menu page. I ordered a pizza with the ingredient shown on the menu ( Ny round, sauce, cherry tomatoes, basil, mozzarella cheese, and balsamic glaze). I was told to tell them if I don't want an ingredient to tell them. Hello the menu doesn't state other ingredients so how can someone know what to not ask for??? The gentleman indicated that all of their pizzas have American cheese on it, I normally only order the NY style round because it doesn't. I was advised today that the pizza was made properly and the green specs is dried basil not fresh basil is put on the pizza. Unfortunately they have lost a customer whom spends over $60 there in one order. The way that they handled the call was unprofessional and not customer friendly. Very disappointing read more

Tried Samarios for the first time today. Ordered a large round, 12 cut square, and mild wings. I particularly liked the round pizza and my wife loved the square. Probably a matter of personal taste. The wings were good and came with a nice helping of blue cheese and celery. Mild wings are very very mild so if you like just a little kick, go with medium. All in all it was good stuff. read more

I was staying in the Hampton hotel nearby and they were the only pizza place that would deliver so they're off to a good start there. the people i talked to on the phone were very nice and they kept me updated on my delivery. The pizza itself went beyond what i had expected it to be. The crust tasted amazing and went perfectly with the sauce. not to mention they had the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. I downloaded this app solely so I could give them a good review because my experience was just that good. if you're ever in the area i highly suggest you try this restaurant. read more

I am staying at a campground that gave me their menu. The folks in the office said they delivered. When I called to place an order they would not deliver because I was not a business. This is one of our go to places for take out. Their chicken bites are the best because they aren't your traditional thick breading. Love the sweet mild. Have tried round, square and double crust pizza and they were all great. They messed up our order once but apologized and made it right. read more
