The flowers were fine; the service was so sub-par that it took away all of the beauty of the experience. One of my best friends ordered a floral delivery after the death of my mother. I was called one morning to say that they were attempting to deliver the flowers but didn't have a code for the gate. I returned the call in 3 minutes - literally 3 minutes - and didn't get an answer. I called later in the day and no one answered at the business number well within business hours. (I went back and forth trying to get answers and talking with representatives for the next couple of days; apparently their stated business hours are just a suggestion, because those hours are not adhered to at all.) The next day their representative lied and said that the flowers were left at the reception desk. THERE IS NO RECEPTION DESK! After 4 days of trying to get the item delivered I told them I would drive over and pick up the flowers myself. I followed their directions to a "T", yet when I got there no one answered the door. I literally had to lay on my car horn for more than 60 seconds to get someone to come to the door. I have no idea why 1800Flowers uses them. This is the worst delivery experience of any kind that I've had in years. Additionally, I've received several other arrangements and had several deliveries this month - none of them had a problem following directions to get my delivery to me. read more

A couple days later, Samantha Rose called me and said the order actually had been cancelled and was delivered by mistake, so she would be sending somebody to repossess the peace lily arrangement (my friend also called her, and Samantha Rose insisted the correct arrangement had been sent). My poor boyfriend! My birthday is Valentine's Day (so you can feel the pressure). He ordered a bouquet to be delivered on my birthday/V-day. You can guess what happened. Nothing. Not only did no flowers arrive, this company lied and said they couldn't deliver because no one was home. My building has a 24-hour concierge, so someone is ALWAYS home. My hunch is they never tried because they were overwhelmed. I never got a phone call or any indication they were trying to deliver. It's disappointing to see so many bad reviews because my experience was great! I was the recipient of one of the most beautiful flower arrangements I've ever seen. All white roses, white lilies, white snapdragons and 9 days later they are still beautiful. The last lily opened today. And they smell wonderful. The roses' fragrance is dwarfed by the lilies but they do have a smell (seems rare these days.) I took one out of the arrangement and put it in a vase in another location. There was a challenge with the delivery (my building was the issue) and someone contacted me to find out how best to deliver. I was shocked to get a delivery and wasn't sure what it was. The person on the phone asked me if I wanted to know or wanted to be surprised. That was considerate. I know the sender used 1-800-FLOWERS but maybe calling them directly would be a better experience. From the receiving end of this gift, I was very, very pleased. read more

Just received birthday flowers from Samantha Rose Designs. My friend sent them to me and she is not cheap. I knew she had ordered the XL arrangement and it was suppose to be big and full. What I got was pitiful. The grocery store arrangements are better. Also some of the flowers pedals were already shedding. Of course I let her know and she was issued a refund. Do not use this florist. People expect something like the pictures they are seeing when picking out flowers for an occasion especially for the price they are paying. My poor husband got routed to this outfit from 1800 Flowers for Valentine's Day flowers this year. They then texted me (so much for any surprise) the Friday before the planned Sunday delivery, asking if someone would be home and whether the neighborhood had a gate code. I replied that I didn't know if someone would be home but to leave the flowers at the front door and that there was no gate code. No response. On Sunday, I get the same text on top of a phone call that I sent to voicemail bc the biz name didn't show up. Voicemail asks me to return the call. I did. Dispatcher tells me someone has to be home to receive the flowers. Fine. I'll bypass my afternoon plans. I ask for a timeframe and she tells me by 2 pm. Delivery finally arrives after 5 pm. By then, I'd had to tell my husband what was happening so we could tag-team the door. What kind of business is this that puts the burden of what's supposed to be a fun surprise on the recipient? Never before have I had to be home to receive flowers. Never before has a florist contacted me three times to first ruin the surprise then nag me. Literally, isn't lifting spirits supposed to be a florist's job? This one has completely lost the goal of that mission. My husband purchased me a flower arrangement through 1-800flowers for Valentine's Day the Friday which was the 11th of February to be delivered to my home for Valentine's Day as a surprise and I never received my flowers. I received a phone call Valentines Day evening around 7 pm stating that the 70 flowers my husband purchased would not be delivered bc the flowers they had were not up to par and that I would be receiving my flowers the following day. Can you imagine how much uproar that brought into my household. Our mantra in our relationship for 13 years has been bouquets of flowers so for me to not receive my flowers on love day was pretty disappointing and although I knew what to expect I didn't receive a phonecall until the end of the day. Then to add insult to injury when I found out that my husband paid extra for expedited shipping, and $700 I absolutely was not going to allow that to happen because we are taking a trip Feb 16. I don't want the flowers anymore, it doesn't serve it's same purpose. So this morning, which is Feb 15, I called to cancel the order and I wasn't even greeted properly on the phone, a very discourteous woman answered the phone with a bad attitude, she wasn't interested or care to listen to what I had to say, before disrespectfully hanging up in my face she did inform me she had other orders to handle and drivers to send out, while trying to rush me off the phone. her last response to me was that was not her problem, that I needed to call 1800 flowers and that she needed to get her drivers out and she hung up on me. I honestly don't know how my boyfriend found this place, Samantha Rose Designs, but he sent me the most beautiful vase of roses for Valentine's Day, and when I read the card included with them I just teared up, it was so sweet and heartfelt. The arrangement is just gorgeous: it's a mixture of striped red roses, lilies, baby's breath and eucalyptus. And I have full confidence it will last for ages- he's really good at picking places that do it right. That's really all I need to say about this place. To Whom It May Concern; I placed my order on February 11th for delivery on February 13th however it would've been acceptable for delivery on February 14th. It's now February 17th - no flowers were ever delivered! I just received a text message from Samantha's Rose's asking if they could deliver the flowers today! I called at 4pm on February 14th to check the status and they lied and said they attempted to deliver the flowers earlier however WE WERE HOME ALL DAY they never attempted anything. Then I was told it was because the information was incomplete which is also a lit because a simple look at the invoice and sales record shows my wifes full name, address and the mobile number to confirm. Finally, I told the agent to just leave the flowers at the front door because I was more than OK with the safety of the delivery. The agent CONFIRMED they would leave the flowers at the door and my wife and I left for dinner and rushed back home to make sure the flowers werent outside too long because of the temperatures. Of course, I arrived home at 7pm on February 14th and the flowers weren't here. On yesterday (2/16) I called 1-800-Flowers Customer Service and spoke with their agent. I made it clear I was cancelling the order because it is of no use to us now. Again, the order was placed on February 11th for delivery on February 13th however it would've been acceptable for delivery on February 14th. Again, it's now February 17th - no flowers were ever delivered! Now I get another text from Samantha Rose Design at 7:30am on 2//17 saying they have a delivery for my wife! NO THANK YOU! One thing I didn't like about Samantha Rose Design is the fast that it messed up the perfect surprise from my husband. He ordered flowers to be delivered to a specific location on a certain day. First problem for some reason they called my number. 2nd problem they were trying to deliver it on the wrong day. 3rd problem they called me again on the right day to be sure someone would be there to receive them. 4th problem they told me the address as to where they're sending the flowers. The delicate pink roses in the arrangement came with brown edges. When the net diapers came off, those same roses drooped like the workin' girls outside my Midtown apt at 3am. Two days later, the entire bouquet looks like it sat on the radiator for a week. It only looked like a bunch of stems shoved into a cheap vase to begin with, so u can imagine the hot mess I'm looking at today. When I called customer service, I was put on hold for 20 minutes while the poor operator had to find out what to do. First day on V'day? My heart out to you sister! They scheduled a redelivery for the next day, with sincere apologies. Cool. It showed up at 4pm. The only resemblance to the original order was the presence of pink roses and carnations. This place is ridiculous, not only did they ruin my boyfriend's surprise but they are also blatant liars. I got a message this morning around 11am, from Jody, Informing me they had a delivery for me and to call them for a delivery time. I called back not more than 5 minutes after they called and spoke with a woman who asked if I would be home today and that they would deliver the flowers between 2-5. I've been waiting in my living room since I spoke with them this morning to get my delivery. It is now about 6pm and still no delivery, I've been calling since around 5:20 to get an estimate as to when they will be here. No one has picked up the phone since I've been calling. It's common courtesy to at least let people know if you're going to be late or not coming at all, especially since this is what they're getting paid for. So I called my boyfriend to ask about the flowers, he was upset they ruined his surprise, and that they still weren't there. He called 1-800-flowers to see what the problem was. Don't ya know that this poor excuse for a company LIED and said that they tried to deliver the flowers and that I wasn't home! Just wow. Not only can I see who's coming to my front door, but I can see who's in my driveway from my living room. I also have 2 very energetic dogs who let me know when people are here or have pulled into the driveway. If anyone was at my house I would know. I am so very disappointed in this place. My guy lives in Ohio and attempted to surprise me for by Birthday in September. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have never been more overwhelmed by a company's incompetence and lack of professionalism. My mother order a bouquet for a family friend with whom I am staying. They delivered a bouquet (to the leasing office) that was 10" in diameter when my mother ordered 18". They said they would redeliver the correct size the next day... (nope). FOUR DAYS later, I call them for the fifth time, and they say they will only deliver a new bouquet if they can take the old bouquet for "quality assurance". I said ok but it had to be in the next four hours as I had an appointment. My mom then called and the boss told her they would not collect the old bouquet and they would deliver the following day instead. Two hours later I received a call from the delivery driver saying she was at the gate and was here to collect the old bouquet. I told her what her boss had said, and she insisted I call her boss again, and said if she didn't collect my old bouquet she would not deliver any bouquet to me. I gave her the old bouquet, and accepted the new (mildly improved) one. But needless to say, I will NEVER be using 1-800-FLOWERS ever again, or Samantha Rose Designs. Their employees are incompetent, unprofessional and clearly lack fundamental communication skills. I do not wish the stress and frustration of this company on anyone. read more

I wish I was able to give zero stars. I received an arrangement as a birthday gift. When the delivery was made I saw that it was no where near a birthday arrangement but more of a holiday arrangement. Followed the care instructions and they still died before I had them for a week. Delivery was on the 26th but by the 1st they were dead. I didn't call until the 4th because it was after hours. My boyfriend called and tried to explain that the quality wasn't;t good and to see if they'll send a replacement. He was told they needed to talk to me to get the story on what happened. Several hours later I called because they never called me. I explained how they died in less than a week, was a holiday arrangement instead of the birthday arrangement and how I followed all care instructions that didn't help. I was told they would come by the next day to pick up the old arrangement to try and see what caused them to die and would deliver a new arrangement and would make it more of a birthday arrangement since that's what it was suppose to be. Tuesday came and no one called or came by to pick/deliever the arrangement. I called on Wednesday to ask the reason and was told I needed to wait to hear from the manager and that my issue was escalated. What I don't understand is why was I told I would receive a replacement the next day (Tuesday) but now I needed to wait on the manager to decide on what would happen. I was told the manager would not be in until Friday. Here it is Friday and I have not been able to speak with the manager. I called twice the morning, 1st time was told she would be in in a little while. Called right before 1pm and was told she would be in a meeting until 2 or 3pm. Here it is 3:35, I've called four times, was hung up on twice. This company is extremely horrible. Please take heed to these reviews and take your money elsewhere. read more

UPDATE: The bottom line is they ended up doing everything in their power to make it right and that is good customer service. After apologizing to me many, many times (which is important), they significantly upgraded my order and delivered it. There had been a lot of confusion and misinformation on the phone about the status of the delivery which had really exacerbated the situation. I appreciate their honesty in owning the mistake and doing everything short of turning back time to make it right. I'm a fair guy. They did wrong and I blasted them. This flower shop went above and beyond to help me get a bouquet of flowers to a family member in a nursing home. With all the COVID-19 restrictions, it was very difficult. The florist put extra effort in contacting the nursing home to make sure that the delivery would be accepted and, from what I have heard, the bouquet is very beautiful.
