Morgyn did a great job, although took a little longer for her to get our unruly locks straight in comparison to our blowout bar at home. I do think back at home they are just used to our hair and we are usually in and out in 25-30 minutes. This took a full 45 minutes. However, the finished product for both of us was great and many days later it still looked great even with all the heat and humidity. It lasted about half the day which I thought was pretty good and was long enough for our photo session (but something to keep in mind if you're aiming for an all day look - maybe splurge for the full blow out). My appointment was scheduled for 10/3, and on 10/2 I received a text informing me that someone was going to be out sick and they could no longer accommodate my appointment. I was told I could reschedule. If someone is booking a blowout/style weeks in advance, there is a pretty good chance it is for a specific event or special occasion. In my case, it was for a wedding, so rescheduling was not an option. What made the situation even more frustrating was the communication that followed. Shortly after they canceled my appointment, I received an email thanking me for "canceling" and not "standing us up." To be clear, I did not cancel the appointment -- you did. Sending a message that incorrectly placed the responsibility on the customer was incredibly frustrating. At the very least, there should be a template for appointments that the business has to cancel at the last minute that says something along the lines of, "We're sorry, but we had to cancel your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances." Then, a few minutes later, I received another email asking me to confirm the appointment that they had just canceled. At that point, I called the location to make sure there hadn't been some kind of mistake, but no one answered and I had to leave a voicemail. Thankfully, I was able to scramble and find another local salon that could accommodate me, so I have my hair taken care of for the wedding. But the entire experience left a very bad impression. Last-minute cancellations happen, and I understand that people get sick. What is unacceptable is the lack of communication, the contradictory messages, and especially receiving an email that incorrectly blamed me for canceling an appointment that the business canceled. This was my first and very last booking. I will not be using this location in the future. A business that provides appointment-based services for special occasions should understand how disruptive a last-minute cancellation can be and should handle the situation with much better communication and accountability.
