I've been here a few times and they have all been good experiences. I usually come before we take family photos. I did the Shirley Temple for my daughter and she loved being pampered. Her hair turned out very nice, but the curls fell out pretty quickly, which is just her hair type. I got some curls done and mine were really tight-they looked better the next day. I asked for volume at the crown and proper styling of curtain bangs. Somehow my stylist couldn't manage to do either of those things.

TLDR: The staff was very nice, but I'm not sure the stylists really know how to do hair well. The bad: I asked for beachy waves with a front curtain bang and lots of body for my elopement later in the day, and it wasn't even close to that. My hair just looked flat and like it was badly curled, with no curtain bang at all. To be honest, I wish I would have just done it myself at home. I didn't see one person walk out with hair that I would have considered good, including mine. Curls were too tight/ringlets, most girls had tons of flyaways on top sticking straight up. The good: the staff was incredibly nice, including my stylist. The appointment was on time and the place felt very clean and upscale. read more

I was thrilled that Drybar offers "dry styling" which means I could be in and out quickly and at a lower price ($30 for the service plus tax and tip). I decided to give it a go and was really satisfied with the experience. I arrived for an 8:15am appointment on a Thursday - it was relatively quiet - a stylist helped me immediately. I told her I was looking for smooth curls - she was pleasant to talk to and had me finished in under 20 minutes. The style was just what I was hoping for and much better than what I could have done myself - plus it's probably the most luxurious thing I've done in months. It lasted about half the day which I thought was pretty good and was long enough for our photo session (but something to keep in mind if you're aiming for an all day look - maybe splurge for the full blow out). If you're looking for a quick and relatively inexpensive treat yourself moment, a dry style appointment is a great way to go! read more

I was really disappointed with my experience here. I visited Raleigh for work and made an appointment for a dry style ahead of some meetings later in the day. If you haven't been to Drybar before, they have a menu of hair styles that are really useful in communicating to your stylist what you're looking for. I chose a very loose "dry tai" style and emphasized that I didn't want any tight curls, but that's exactly what I ended up with... Plus frizz. My hair looked messy and worse than it did when I came in. I'm not sure the stylist was experienced enough to style my hair type. The curls were made way too close to the root, the iron was left on my hair too long, she didn't section my hair/use clips, she used hairspray but no products to help smooth my hair, etc. (The dry styling area isn't in front of a mirror so I wasn't able to see what was going on until it was already done.) For context: my hair is platinum blonde so it's super bleached/porous and holds curls well. It can also break off easily without proper care, get frizzy without the right products/styling -- which is one of the reasons I chose to shampoo/dry at home ahead of time. I could've done a better job styling at home, which is frustrating when you're paying (both time and money) for a professional experience. I ended up having to redo everything and wash/dry/style my hair at the hotel which was a huge hassle. I had to find a Sephora to buy hair products, etc. I've been to plenty of other Drybar locations, and this one wasn't up to par. I have been a fan of DryBar since I live in CA. I met the owner of the NEW Cary location at an event in October. I was so excited to try this new location out and it didn't disappoint. The team at this location is really friendly and welcoming. I got a mix of a cosmo and southern hairdo. My hair is kind tricky and the stylist did a good job at working with it. We were working against the weather on NYE, so my hair was having some issues holding my curls. Overall, the location was easy to get to, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel special, and I truly enjoyed my experience. I will be coming back to get another blowout. read more

I instantly noticed the positive moral and camaraderie at this location! Everyone seemed happy to be there and help! Which is so refreshing! You get a mini consultation when you are seated at your station. There is a helpful book with pictures you can look through, so you get the specific look you want! After you decide what look you want, you get an amazing shampoo/conditioner/head massage. It felt so therapeutic, I almost fell asleep! Then the blow dry magic happens! Very disappointing experience. In order to schedule an appointment online, I had to create an account. I did and it wouldn't go through so I called. They wanted my credit card number to charge $20 if I canceled and I didn't want to give out my credit card number so they said I could walk in. There were several appointments available. I arrived Sunday at 10'am and was told to come back at 2:30. I did and was then told it would be at least 45 minutes and was encouraged to reschedule. I told her I couldn't reschedule since I had an interview in 2 days. So I come back in 45 minutes and no one was at the front desk and the 2 stylists didn't acknowledge me so I left and went to another salon. Not sure I'll be back since there are no guarantees with being seen anytime soon. I spent half my Sunday waiting for my hair to be styled. read more

This was my first Dry Bar location and experience. I liked it so much that I got a membership after getting my first blowout. Everyone is really friendly and informative with their hair care and product knowledge. The salon is bright and clean--it feels like a nice spa-like experience. Quite unhappy with the results of my blowout and style. I have spent $90 and went twice for a senior stylist to try again. I curl my hair all the time and it stays. When my hairdresser does my blowout and style it lasts up to 5 days. I was left with flat hair both days. Not lasting more then 8 hours. I was a regular when this was Parlor, and this business changed hands - well, it's not actually the same business. It's the next door over. Nice interior, friendly people. I had a stylist who was relatively green when it comes to long, long hair, and I had to encourage her to pull harder, telling her she wouldn't hurt me. She did great, and my hair looked great. I love dry bars like this. The pricing is always what holds me off from that final star because I go in with washed and damp hair due to a myriad of allergies. Came here because it was close to home and I had a wedding to go to out of town. The woman was very nice and accommodating but the job that was done was not what I expected. I probably could have done better at home and didn't realize how unsatisfied I was until I did get home. There are not many curls and some parts are frizzy.
