However, this review is about the Salty Catch, so let's get it! I'm a sucker for PO boys and I've tried my fair share. From New England to the Pacific Northwest, I've had some good ones, and maybe that set the bar way too high! However , when I saw this place at Sawmill I had to try it! The menu, due to venue space is quite small and has the basics. I chose the Lobster Poboy. For a not so busy day, it took quite awhile for me to get my Poboy but when I got it... it looked darn good. It had a healthy drizzle of aioli and cocktail sauce. And five nugget size fried lobster pieces, on a huge roll! First the roll drowned out everything! Way too big for the amount of crab. The drizzles of sauces also drowned the lobsters. The poor lobsters were swimming for their lives in all of it! It was hard to bite and I had to get a technical with my approach to eating it! Every bite seemed like all I could taste was sauce and bread! My poor lobster bites had no chance! ‍ In the end I tore my bread in half... stuffed all the lobster I had left into a portion of the bread, and enjoyed the rest. All in all it wasn't bad, but the lobster itself lacked that umpffffff All in all, it wasn't bad, but with some tweaks, it could be better! Lastly, the service was a bit flat. Not that you need to have a convo, but the welcoming and "can I get you anything else" attitude was definitely it present! If you ask for tartar or ketchup, they act as if you're asking them for a loan . They don't sell or give water. They send you to a bar for a cup or tap water. This place was recommended to me, so I came and tried their fish and chips with a coke. It was $25, and was pretty average. The fish and fries were both just ok without much flavor, and strangely enough, could really have used some salt. I would have asked for it at the counter, but the two employees were very busy and were not ready to engage with me. I ordered at the counter and was given a buzzer to signal me when my order was ready. After 20 minutes, spent watching my companions finishing their lunch which was purchased from another quicker vender, I went back to the counter to see how long it would be. As i approached, one the employees placed an order on the counter, made eye contact with me, and then headed back to the kitchen without saying a word to me. Went to Sawmill Market for lunch. The first time I tried the Salty Catch, I had the lobster po-boy. I was disappointed, as while it was ok, it was kind of ordinary . I have had po-boys in New Orleans, which is what I usually measure them by, and this didn't come close. I decided to try again on another visit and opted for the fish and chips. This time I wasn't disappointed. The fish was perfectly prepared, and amazingly, not overly greasy. That is difficult when deep frying, but it was very good. On today's visit, I decided to try the fried shrimp. Fried shrimp is one of my favorite dishes and I have been disappointed a lot of times. Not this time. The shrimp were jumbo and perfectly fried. I asked what they would do to rectify it- and I was offered a free coke?! You kidding me? Your managers need to know how to handle these situations better. Not a discount- not a free sandwich- nothing. And when I asked she said they already took care of it and what more did I expect? The food was almost out why was I complaining. My mother loves fish & chips and I like po' boys, so we thought we'd check this place out while shopping at Sawmill Market. It was the wrong choice. Our food took a long time even though there was no one ahead of us, and when we got it, the fish appeared fried to death. But that wasn't the worst part. Inexplicably, the lobster chunks in the po' boy were still gray and translucent inside their hard fried crusts. I was starving and had already eaten some of it before noticing, unfortunately. When I did, I took it back to tell them it was still raw, but they explained -- not for the first time, it seemed -- that it's Slipper lobster and that's how it looks cooked. No properly cooked lobster looks like that, however. Even if it were a strange kind of fish that did, it had no business being in an actual lobster po' boy fried beyond belief like that. I threw out the rest since they wouldn't take it back. And now the noises coming from my stomach confirm that the lobster was in fact raw. We walked by and saw the great looking food waiting to be picked up. We walked around awhile, but went back to salty catch. I ordered the fish and chips and my girlfriend ordered the shrimp Poor boy. we were given an electronic hockey puck to notify us the order was read. Waiting 30 minutes, 45 minute, and after 50 minutes we went to check on the order. The order had been ready for about 10-15 minutes. you guessed it. Food was cold and we mentioned the device never went off. The attendant was not customer service trained and just keep saying they kept trying to let us know the order is ready. there were 10-15 orders waiting to get picked up and the problem seem to be rampant as everything was cold. I would have expected an offer to replace my order...no such offer was made. maybe manage will make the offer. Until then, this visit was my first and will be my last visit. they need to replace their customer order notification devices with one that works.
