Had a wonderful dinner this evening. I enjoy Crackin' Crab. My wife loved eating here and would devour all the crab. My first time at their new West side location. Clean, open design with lots of windows. Very pleasant. The service from Andrea was great! I started with Blue point oysters on the half shell. Main course was Dungeness crab, class and shrimp. Medium hot with the crackin sauce. 3.5 lbs of seafood was gone...

Man did this place hit the spot. Got the snow crab clusters with the crackin sauce. Really really good! The potatoes were ok but the rest of the boil was great! Staff was friendly and took good care of us. Place gets busy so be ready to wait a little bit but it will be worth it.

Obsessed with this place! Fresh seafood, cooked to perfection! Awesome staff, super helpful and attentive and the restaurant is always clean! You gotta try it... king crab legs and headless shrimp are my fave!!!

The service was personal & the introduction to eating crawfish was explained perfectly. We enjoyed 1lb of crawfish & 1lb of shrimp with ordering catfish & fries, which was the only thing I didn't care for - not a catfish fan I guess. Over all a great experience- bib, plastic gloves & all!

The Drift plus clams

This is our go to. We love it for dinner. But it's expensive so be prepared to spend $100 for two if you order the drift plus a pound of clams and tip. Service is always great and they're attentive. No moist towelette this time but they have a bathroom. Comes with snow crab, 2 red potatoes, corn on the cob and scallops mussels clams shrimp, their crackin sauce in mild. It's so good and never dissapoints.

Fried catfish dinner.

Glad I didn't pay any attention to the menu before going there, or I might not have gone, since I was looking for a seafood dinner as opposed to a crab boil. Fortunately they DID have catfish on the menu, and it was the best catfish I've had since moving back to NM from Arkansas (where everyone offers catfish on the menu). The 3 large fillets were coated in a very tasty cornmeal coat and nicely crisp. The tartar sauce and the generous portion of fries were both very good as well. I'll be back whenever I have a hankerin' for catfish!

There once was a ship that put to sea And the name of that ship was the Billy o' Tea. The winds blew hard, her bow dipped down.. Blow, me bully boys, blow (Hah!) Soon may the Wellerman come To bring us sugar and tea and rum One day, when the tonguin' is done We'll take our leave and go... Crackin' Crab did just that... We shared a pound of perfectly seasoned steamin hot "Snow Crabs", with garlic butter, potato and crunchy good cole slaw...washed down with local beers. This hands on deck dining place...of juicy delicious crab put smiles on our crusty face... Soon may the Wellerman come To bring us sugar and tea and rum One day, when the tonguin' is done We'll take our leave and go... Yes, this high desert seaworthy grub will make us chart our course back once mo... Best, Avram Nathan Evans Jr.

I wish I asked the servers name but he was amazing. We have never ate at a crab boil so he suggested just the right amount of food. Very attentive although it was busy. We asked if they did anything for birthdays and he said no but when we were leaving, he gave my niece money to buy an ice cream next door and he told her happy birthday. What a great first experience. Will come back. My sister said if she can eat this everyday she would. Lol. Wish I would have taken pictures

Ask the Community - Crackin' Crab

Just curious, do they have Oyster Rockefeller here? Also, is there a crab boil option? Thanks!

No oyster Rockefeller, but they do have the crab boil option.

How much per person?

That varies dramatically depending on what you order and how much you order. the shellfish is sold by the pound at market price so it varies every day. Oysters tend to be around $18.95 a pound. Estimate $15 to $30 per person.

We don't vote anymore on…read morewhere to go because they outnumber me 3-1 and they always want to go back to Pelican's for the salmon. They are hard to resist, so we went back to Pelican's last Thursday. The place was packed and more noisy than usual. Our waiter was a newbie. But we were still under the masterful management hand of Linda, the chief hostess most nights. We got our favorite table. Usually we start with either a grilled artichoke or a shrimp cocktail... or both. The artichoke is a wonderful discovery and worth the work it takes to eat an artichoke. The shrimp are big and tasty, always very fresh. But last Thursday, we skipped the appetizers and got down to business. Pelican's presents itself as a steak and fish place. I had never had the beef before, so I went for the prime rib and asked for creamy horseradish to accompany it. I like their baked potatoes, but this time I ordered the french fries. The entree was preceded by their house salad for all four of us (but their clam chowder is really good, too). I like the house dressing. The house salad is full of delightful, fresh crunchies -- raw broccoli, carrot slices, mixed crunchy greens, little tomatoes. I love salad, and for me it is a big draw at Pelican's. My prime rib came a perfect medium rare, nicely trimmed, great beef flavor, great edge crust, and a piece of meat that I could have fed three teenage sons on back in the day. The french fries showed attention to detail, hot and crisp on the outside, perfect on the inside. If you like prime rib, you cannot do better than this dish at Pelican's. The Amigas all had salmon. I have eaten the salmon at Pelican's perhaps a dozen times over the past year or two. I know what to expect, and Pelican's never fails to deliver it: one of the two best grilled salmons in town (the other is at Season's Grill by Old Town). Nobody was disappointed this time, either. The asparagus is expensive but good, the sweet potato fries are excellent, the rice pilaf has improved to the point that I would come here for it. No dessert this trip. Maybe next time. If you love seafood, Pelican's West is your place. And now, when I want prime rib, I know where to get it.

The sunrise burger is still one of hubby's favorites in the city, and the fries are incredible. I tried the High Point Mac & cheese (green chile mac w/steak sliced on top) and yowza. So much flavor, and the steak was perfectly tender. The restaurant has food nailed. And our server was amazing. Unfortunately, th manager did a poor job estimating how busy they'd be on a Friday night, so the two servers were running ragged. The manager pitched in, but they were playing catch up with the silverware and we had to wait for it when the food arrived. Which, no biggie, but it was a fork when I had steak and my husband had a messy burger. So we right away asked for knives. I pointed out my steak, and the manager got snarky with us like she got it. But then she brought us butter knives. When I got up and went to the bar to ask for a steak knife, her attitude was even faker. I don't abide fake when someone's eyes and mouth clearly say they think you're stupid or annoying or both. As a manager, you learn how to school your face and keep people happy or you don't last in management long. Also, if she miscalculated staffing, then it should have been her job to get into the bathrooms and keep them presentable. They weren't. Paper everywhere, and the walls need some serious touch ups. It's hard for people to trust the food safety if the job-food public areas aren't kept clean and well-maintained, you know? We'll be back because the food IS awesome and we always have an enjoyable meal. But they definitely need to turn an eye toward building upkeep and service.

Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and you get a generous portion, which makes the price feel like a steal. My husband's grilled catfish salad was huge and genuinely delicious, not an afterthought like it can be elsewhere. Sides were a bit mixed. The mac and cheese was overdone, but the red beans and rice were excellent, full of flavor and exactly what you want alongside that fish. Only real drawback is the hours. We found ourselves wishing they were open more often because it is the kind of place you want in regular rotation. Overall, great food, strong portions, and real value. We will absolutely be back.

It wasn't like a soup how we are used to, it was sort of thick and slimy, the flavor was a little too different. 1 star dish to be honest. We threw it in the trash. The jambalaya was a little better, but it still wasn't great. It actually made it to like a 3.5 star quality dish; it was good enough to eat, so we ate this. The fried oysters were pretty good, especially when dipped in their spicy tartar sauce, 4 stars for this dish. I might actually crave this once in a blue moon. Their Mac and cheese had so much potential. It was thick and creamy how I like it, burned cheese on it was great, they attempted to put som cajun seasoning in it that you can barely taste, but the part that docked them points the most was the Mac was overcooked probably sat on a heat lamp for a very long time. The fries were soggy after only a 5 minute drive. They also use styrofoam, which I personally don't like eating from due to the forever chemicals that leach into the food when it's hot. Also after spending $40 and asking for an extra sauce I got charged a dollar. I mean okay I don't thin the side sauce was worth the dollar but also the sauce that came with it was only filled half way. I mentioned that am still I was charged the buck. The lady up front had an alright demeanor, the lady cooking in the back seemed really sweet and asked me how i found them, had a smile etc. I think they should have someone like that cashiering.

Not only was she always checking on us in a packed house, she always made sure we had drinks and asked if we needed anything else. Okay the food! We started with calamari and mozzarella sticks and the biscuits. We found the mozzarella sticks were just mid. Same with the biscuits. We felt they were dry and not as buttery as in past visits. Do you all remember when red lobster tried mixing broccoli with the calamari so you looked like you had a lot but it was really all broccoli?? Well the plate and serving looked the same - piled high and a lot of food but get this - it was all calamari!!! Very good!! After hearing there was new ownership, and considering how much we spend on seafood boils and similar restaurants, we decided to give it another try. Your advertisements promote high-quality food and a strong focus on guest experience. Price has never been an issue for us -- when we choose to spend time together as a family, creating memories is what matters most. My wife is also a manager in a large-scale food and entertainment establishment, so we understand both the guest perspective and the operational side of hospitality. We were unable to celebrate Valentine's Day due to work schedules, so we planned a special meal to bring home and enjoy with our two daughters. I called the Albuquerque Coors Bypass location directly at (505) 922-0266, which is listed as the local number for this specific store, to place a large takeout order. The first person I spoke with could not add certain items (à la carte items and butters), so I requested to speak directly with the store. A team member then took my order, quoted me approximately $250.00, and gave me a 45-minute wait time. We waited in the nearby shopping area for that entire time. When I went to the bar to pick up the order, I was told they had no record of it. I spoke with a manager named Tina or Trina, who told me there was nothing she could do except start the order over. By that point, we had already waited close to an hour, with family at home hungry and excited to celebrate. The situation was extremely frustrating. What made the experience worse was the lack of empathy or ownership. When I asked if anything could be done to make the situation right -- even a small gesture acknowledging the inconvenience -- she responded that she could not compensate us because, for all she knew, we may never have placed an order and were trying to get free food. This remark was deeply offensive and unnecessary. I want to be clear: money was not the issue. I am a medical professional, and my wife holds a high-level management role in a similar industry. We understand policies and procedures, but we also understand guest recovery and professionalism. As a Black man, I unfortunately recognize when I feel judged or dismissed, and the tone and response I received left me feeling disrespected. We left the restaurant feeling frustrated and went elsewhere. While waiting for food in another parking lot, I called back and requested the corporate number. Shortly after, I received a call from a Missouri number (637-928-1161). It was another Red Lobster location asking why we had not picked up our order. They confirmed the order existed and apologized, explaining that issues with their call center are common. For transparency and accuracy, both phone conversations referenced above were recorded. These recordings confirm that the order was placed and highlight the breakdown in communication between the call center and the local restaurant. This confirmed that the mistake was not ours, but rather a breakdown in your company's systems and communication. The lack of professionalism and accountability from the on-site manager turned what could have been a simple recovery opportunity into a deeply negative experience. I am sharing this not just out of frustration, but as honest feedback. If Red Lobster truly wants to rebuild trust and improve guest experience, situations like this need better handling -- starting with empathy, accountability, and basic service recovery.
