Although located in a heavy touristic area, the service is excellent. We had a great waiter (Quintin) who really made our visit special. What I appreciate about this restaurant is that they serve quality steaks, what cannot be said about many other chains. The filet was done perfectly. We also asked for a lean NY strip, and it was perfect. I will start off by saying I hr meal I had was very sub par even for Saltgrass. I went on a Tuesday evening and was seated at 8:19pm. They close at 9:00pm and I should have known better. I had the Pat's ribeye (medium rare, Mac and cheese and wedge salad. First of all the bread, which I really look forward to was not edible. Hard as a rock, cold and even looked wrinkly. My steak was so tough and I eat here quite a bit so I know what their steaks normally taste like. My Mac and cheese was so thick it was hard to eat, but tasted good. Also the wedge salad it what got this review to two stars. It was the only thing that was up to standard. I have a video and photos if management is interested. The food was good but the service was horrible. Our server, I think her name was Trina or Tina, was too busy bossing the other waitstaff around to give us her time. When I asked another server what was going on, she said Trina (or Tina) was letting everyone know she's already made 5 people quit and if they don't do what she says, she'll bully them until they quit too. This was not great. It's a steakhouse so one would assume they know how to properly cook a steak (ie not overcook it). Don't assume. A huge personal pet peeve is a stale baked spud. I want it fresh and hot from the oven not tepid and cooked 2 days ago. No reheats allowed unless it tastes right. Edison was our waiter and was super accommodating. He brought first class service. The Oscar topping was fried asparagus (?) and the sauce missed as did the crab. The ribs and Caesar salad were the stars of the show. Chocolate cake was average. Brussel sprouts were tasty, crispy but over salted. Cheese sauce on broccoli was queso from the chips. I'd consider this a huge miss. Ok we came back after 5 years to see if there was a change from our last visit, which unfortunately wasn't the greatest. We had a reservation for Valentines, and arrived early, and were seated within 10 minutes which was great off to a good start. We had a good waitress, very friendly and we ordered drinks and an appetizer, the warm bread while waiting for the crab cakes appetizer was delicious, and held us up until the appetizer came, great job letting us know the it took a little longer to make, the crab cakes did not disappoint in flavor it was definitely crab and not filler's, while waiting for our mains, we noticed the vibe which was nice, not to loud, good ambiance, patrons enjoying there valentines. The double bone pork chop was definitely delicious, moist and very tender, seasoned perfectly, and the shoestring sweet potato fries were a perfect match. The salmon was very well seasoned and blended nicely with the topping, and the Mac and cheese was good, loved the smoked flavor. Got here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. The waitress was friendly but not very knowledgeable on the menu. I ordered the bacon wrapped quail with a side of brussel sprouts not knowing that the appetizer already came with it. The quail,however, was extremely tender and stuffed with cream cheese.So yummy! I love bacon so I figured this dish would be a winner. I also enjoyed the warm bread with butter that was sent out before the meal. The kids seemed to like the pizza and mac and cheese that was served to them. Overall its a decent place to eat at but I want to be able to ask the wait staff things about the menu without any hesitation. We went to Saltgrass in Lafayette on 10/25. Upon entry, the hostess was putting silverware on tables - (slim middle age guy with facial hair). When he returned to his station he asked how many, and looked down for about 30-40 seconds with no words. I didn't even know how yo respond so I just went sit on the waiting bench, and about a minute later he said y'all can follow me. Then he sat us. Very dry and rude. We returned on 11/29 for my birthday because I really like the steaks here. We got sat by an elderly lady right away. When we sat, we were ready to order. I ordered pats steak. My wife and young adult daughter orders a kids steak at normally every restaurant because they have small appetites and don't like to waste. When my wife ordered her meal, she said she couldn't put the kids meal in because she wasn't 12. My wife then ordered her the pats steak also. When our salads came out, she placed them wrong on the table. My father-in-law put his fork in mine before we realized that he had mine. She then proceeded to switch his plate with mine. We ordered both steaks cooked medium. When they came out, they were cooked well done, and had visible burn char on the edges of the steak. We sent it back and when they brought new ones, they were dark pink. Rare. The manager said that this was their medium. I attached a picture below. read more

I ordered the Shrimp & Chicken Wrapped in bacon, BBQ sauce, fried onions for an appetizer. Blackened Redfish with Shrimp, lump crabmeat, spinach, diced tomatoes, scallions and lemon butter for an entree. The bacon used to wrapped the shrimp was to salty for my liking. But after taking it off the shrimp and chicken were really good. As for the Blackened Redfish it was really good. From being well cooked to the flavor. The baked sweet potato was absolutely delicious. More than enough for 2nds. The decor was nice, the music playing was horrible. Our server was nice and attentive but not pesky.
