I did my final tasting at their tasting room at the airport. There were 2 wonderful ladies there. I had the most contact with Chloe. She really knew her stuff. Presentation sold me. I have 5 visitors coming from France in April and they will have the Empress & tonic to impress and amazing. How can one describe the incredible color? Lavendar? Amethyst? The taste was off the hook. With Chloe's advice I located the Empress 1908 Gin in town and didn't have to carry it in carry on with the airlines. And the 5 Frenchies vising me in April will have amazing cocktails. Yaay. Get it. I'm not a huge wine drinker but all of the wines I tried here made me want to be. The only downside we experienced was that we came at a time where they did not have any food. Cheese and fruit would have been a great accompaniment to the wine! I would definitely recommend coming but make sure you are coming when they have food as well!

I did there testing which was plentiful and came with character, history, and laughs. They are passionate about their spirits and the conversations between tastings was casual and fun! I love gin but their vodka was smooth and very easy to drink! The chocolate vodka was a hit! It was incredibly soft and I could pair it with so many things! Like ice crème! We settled in their unique Nocturne (Black Garlic) Vodka! Not an overly garlic tasting hit b it enough to added depth to things like Caesars! Absolutely worth hitting up! Note: they operate with limited hours so check prior to going!

It was a very hot day when I visited, so we were lucky to be able to sit out back on the patio seating with wonderful views of the water out in the distance looking out over the Orchards. Our waitress was very nice as well as knowledgeable about all the types of cider. I enjoyed the cherry one very much. I opted to go with the traditional 'birds and bees cider', which was a very refreshing apple cider with pear which was so easy to drink and just perfect on the hot day. The cidery has lovely grounds you could walk about and has a well stocked cidery store inside the barn. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere here and hope to visit again. For lunch, we had the flatbread, and my hubby had a bowl of the seafood chowder which he loved. Perfect plate to share.

The tasting room can fit two groups in at a time. Service was friendly and informative. We lucked out and our tasting was done by the cidermaker himself! Interesting to see what went behind certain flavours and ideas. Tasting is complimentary and we were given 5 cider samples to try (plus a bonus soda). Cider bottles are $4.99 (330ml) and sodas are $3.99. They even had a mingler ($50.00 for 12 bottles). - Community-in-cider - a smorgasboard of apples (that would have been discarded) from the surrounding area. Pleasantly smooth. A good heritage cider. - Ginnish - we liked that it wasn't overly juniper heavy. Light with different flavour notes coming through. - Humulus lupulus - a lot of lychee and honey on the nose. Again, light but refreshing. An excellent hopped cider (which is due to using aromatic hops). - Poïple - beautiful colour from using the pea blossom. More of the fruitier style that we are used to with crushed blueberries and lemon zest. - Winter - a mix of winter spices (we tasted notes of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla). - Absinthe soda - normally we don't like anise but it was very well balanced and rounded. A variety of flavours come through and these soda babies only have 50g of sugar. We bought half a dozen cider bottles (love potion, farriessence, gingerella, rouge, cider noir and ¡feugo!) and two sodas (ginger and citrus). Can't wait to try out these flavours! VC was a pleasant surprise. Worth a visit if you're a cider aficionado.
