THE SALT SPA IS A DISGRACE in many ways the treatment rooms are not soundproof can hear other people conversations. Very clean. The salt cave is the best in the area, no other compares. They also offer facials with gluten free products that left my skin glowing!!! The ultimate spa day. Book in this order: sauna(I showered after), was warmed up for my massage, then finished with facial! You won't be disappointed. I left feeling amazing. If you have all day, do all the services. I booked a couples massage for me and my husband online for 1010am. The bridge of Lyons had traffic backed up getting into the old city from the beach. I called at 945 telling them we may be a few minutes late. The lady on the phone asked for my name, and said that it wouldn't be a problem. Once we got there, they took us upstairs to a nice waiting room, then forgot about us. I was so disappointed. Once they realized what happened they offered a free upgrade for a time we were not available. Then a lady called my phone, spoke with my husband and blamed the mix up on me. SMH... So there is a couple components to this review.... 1. The spa is beautiful, clean, and everyone was very lovely. 2. My husband did the salt spa and loved it. Very highly recommended! 3. I received a prenatal massage. They had me fill out a form for my preferences, which I put medium pressure, and that I didn't not want anyone to speak to me during. Also I put that a scalp or face massage would be fine. So, I met the massage therapist, she was very friendly, great personality. Loved the room, so relaxing... here is the issue, she still talked the entire time. Now she was very friendly and i enjoyed the conversation but I did not really relax the way I had wished or asked for. She did even apologize on the way out that she talked the whole time. Now, other issue is the pressure was just not there. Mind you on the form when you come in, you have a 10 min time frame to correct the pressure or they won't refund you, per the owner. Which is fine, I understand. But it puts you in a very uncomfortable position to tell your massage therapist that you want some pressure, and to stop taking. It was very uncomfortable for me to have to request for what I already wrote on the paper. Now I'm not saying she wasn't nice, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. I feel like I made a friend, and I am now highly moisturized. If you want to relax, despite my massage I would still recommend this spa, I just think you have to be ok with correcting someone if they don't give you what you are hoping , which I was not. I am 7 months pregnant and got the prenatal massage and my husband for the deep tissue massage which he enjoyed, we got to share a room which was great! The massage therapists were nice and good- but I was so disappointed by their lack of covid precautions. I took my mom for her 70th birthday and no guests were wearing masks. On top of this when we asked if the massage therapists would wear a mask they said we would have to have male therapists because the female therapist wouldn't due to her "personal philosophy". We requested for the staff to wear masks and the owner did not. I paid extra for champagne and strawberries but the room where it was served had multiple unmasked people walking in and out. This place was so cool! I went with a friend who had been dying to go-a salt spa was something I had literally never heard of before, but i figured why not give it a go? I'm so glad I did! I should also say we only did the salt cave for 45 minutes. It definitely doesn't seem like it'd be something I'd do regularly, but as a fun afternoon girl's day activity it was perfect. I contacted the Salt Spa to schedule a couples massage when we came to St. Augustine for my husband's birthday. Normally they book up in advance, but they called me back with an opening the very next day. My husband has been dealing with pretty bad sciatic pain for a while, and he let his massage therapist, Colton, know this. He said it was by far the absolute best massage he'd ever had. Colton had different techniques than your regular massage, and he really worked out a lot of my husband's problem areas. His body is pretty broke down from his military experience in his younger years, and also the countless broken bones throughout life. Now getting older, his back and hips are bad. He highly recommends Colton for anyone experiencing these sorts of issues. He just let him know up front, and Colton knew exactly what to do. We both walked out of the spa so relaxed and refreshed, and we will definitely book again on our next trip to St. Augustine! The people at the front desk and the ones over the phone were awesome as well. Great customer service all around! read more

I absolutely loved my time at Salt Spa! I did a float tank session and it was my first time. I really enjoyed my overall experience and even came back for a massage in the salt cave. I highly recommend the hot coals with the massage. The salt cave was a little cool and had an amazing atmosphere and the warmness including the massage made me so relaxed I almost fell asleep! I got to personally meet the owner Beata and she was super sweet and informative. I also have got to shout out my girl Maria! She walked me through choosing my services while providing great customer service and being super patient. She made me feel so comfortable and made my experience even more enjoyable. I had an outstanding experience and highly recommend the services at Salt Spa St. Augustine. I went for the float tank, and enjoyed learning about the salt cave while being welcomed & given a tour. Hali was incredibly helpful & professional, it was clear that she really cared and went out of her way to take care to get me scheduled, answer all of my questions, and thoroughly oriented me to the spa (as it was my first time). I felt well informed and even excited to be there. I'll most certainly return. Their float tank is not just for people looking for meditation and quiet, but it's also great for anyone with skin issues who might benefit from soaking in a salt bath, as it really helped my eczema. Overall 5 stars A quaint delight of a hidden Salt Spa in St Augustine. I have been here twice during a recent trip to a nearby area. I hope I can come back. The owner was on today (Sunday) and was very gracious to share the history of the salt cave and how she created the experience at her establishment. I did the salt cave therapy and hot salt stone message with Andrew. Blissful can describe my experience today. My colleagues toured the town while I had salt therapy. Highly recommend the establishment and experience. I would like to come back and try the flotation tank and use the infrared sauna....I will need half a day there. LOVED this spa! The prices were perfect and the staff was fantastic. The lady at the front desk showed us around and was so wonderful. I got a Swedish massage with the hot stone upgrade from Andrew and it was incredible. My boyfriend got a deep tissue massage with a Thai Stretching upgrade (I think that's what they called it) from Sage and it really helped his leg pain and he left with a whole new outlook on the benefits of massage. I booked 2 deep tissue massages for my daughter and I. You cannot book 2 on the website so I filled out the contact form. A member of the staff texted with me the following day while I was in between work flights. I explained, in text, I wanted 2 massages and deep tissue. She then sends me links to fill out or my appoints,t s wouldn't be held. I land, go into meetings and step out to make this a priority so I could spend quality time with my daughter upon my arrival home. Check in..nothing special. Go "upstairs" where it is serve yourself tea or water. Then...wait for it...it's a couples massage. Quite literally why I didn't book online because that was my only option. When you sign the paperwork it states "if you are unsatisfied with your massage stop within 10 minutes", which I totally would have done but, I didn't want to ruin our now "couples" massage for my daughter. If they call that deep tissue, they need to go back to school. I told my husband a need a massage from my massage. I chose this place because it was close and I knew I wouldn't feel like driving to ponte vedra inn and spa after getting back Saturday night from a hard work trip. My husband and I booked this as an 20th anniversary couples massage. We had never done a couples massage and thought it would be a way to treat and relax some tired muscles. As we were waiting for our massage two employees were talking about negatively about other staff washing walls with dish soap? and not emptying trash. When I was asked to go over what was bothering me when my masseur brought us to the room. My husband was able to do so but when I attempted to tell mine he seemed to talk about something else. My husbands massage was fine as he did relieve some pain in his hip. He found the massage a little strange though as when he opened his eyes the masseur was directly above his face just staring. Also he breathed loudly the entire time and it was distracting for both of us. My masseur did not work the parts that I had attempted to tell him about. I explained I had large knots on my lower back and may to easily to rub those until they loosen and my shoulders were tight. He never touched my shoulders nor my lower back. he worked the base of skull for a long period and I could not understand why. And worked one side for easily 5 minutes but only the other side for a minute. , plus he rubbed my forehead in one spot for another few minutes, and it did not make sense.. the other thing that kinda bothered me is when he was ready for me to turn over he raised the blanket. I opened my eyes and asked if he wanted me to turn. He said yes and I felt as if he could easily see over the blanket and felt as if he did! We honestly wished we had not gotten a massage after it was over as it felt it was a waste of money. And lastly, we paid for the 50 min and only got about 35-40 mins actual massage.. we were put in the room after time to start, got undressed and dressed and spoke to our masseurs within the 50 mins total. read more

This is an update from an earlier post. I had bought my best friend (who is beautiful and stressed out) and my beautiful daughter who is making huge decisions at a pivotal point in her life, a great day at the spa, together. It was just what they needed. My best friend said it was "AMAZING." She'd never been to a salt spa. She actually had let me pay! I was amazed! She said everything was incredibly wonderful, and that she was new to the salt float, and the self-enclosed pod. She had felt compelled to open it up when she felt she needed some air, and I told her since she's new to that, that's what you do. The more she floats through life, the better it will be, and she'll really adapt to to the pod. My daughter looked so rested and peaceful and supported like I had wanted her to be. This positive experience for both of them was life-changing. They said their favorite was the cave, because of how beautiful it was and how it really lifted their spirits. I'm SO grateful to this business for following their spiritual intuition and creating such a beautiful, detoxifying, and blessed atmosphere. It was well worth every hard-earned penny. Years after hearing about float spas, I got the chance when my wife surprised me with a V-Day gift here. I was unsure what to expect but they are very good at explaining the experience and putting any apprehensions to rest. After a shower it was into the tank. After settling in I tried with the lid closed but found it to be too hot for me. For a while i could hear my heart beat. I found it to be hard to completely relax, but they say it gets better with each float you do. The supplied ear plugs work well, but I found listening to my breathing made it difficult to relax. The salt crystallizes on exposed skin, so be careful and don't touch near your eyes. They provide a fresh water mister and clean washcloth in the event you do. The passage of time is hard to calculate, but an hour seemed about right for relaxing enjoyment. Another shower to rinse off the built up salt and I was ready to go. I felt refreshed and with smooth soft skin, ready to and schedule another session!! read more

We went for a couple's massage over the Valentine's weekend. The host/receptionist and the rest of the employees did not have masks. Parking was very limited. They didn't even offer us a robe and when I asked they told me we could rent them for $10. I've been to multiple spas and a robe is a always included as part of the experience. Our therapist did have mask on but that was only because I requested it. The actual massage was good, but I've had a better experiences. We also did the salt cave, where we basically escorted ourselves. It wasn't even that busy, but the employees where all over the place, like not really helping. I had to ask where the salt cave was at, and a lady just simply pointed us. Since we had no robes, we were in our regular clothing and it's just seem odd. The session was 45 mins, but honestly I didn't feel I could breath better etc as they claimed. Overall, I do not recommend this spa. read more

Was in St Augustine for the Nights of Lights and was curious about the Salt Spa and decided to check it out. I'm so happy that I did!! Beata, the owner, was inside after hours and invited us in and was so incredibly warm and welcoming. She took her time explaining every treatment and gave us a tour. The salt cave is immaculate. Clean, comfortable, beautiful and she brought experts in from Europe to design the cave to make it the most effective for the customer. The float tanks are also very clean and top quality. Her sauna is incredible-not only with infrared, but with vibrations that are incredibly soothing. I went in the following day to be warmly greeted again by Beata and got to sit in the cave and absolutely loved the whole experience! You can tell that she has this spa and offers these services because she truly is passionate about what she does and believes whole heartedly in the treatments. Very beautiful spa, warm reception and totally interested in tailoring a customized health session. I did a full spectrum infrared followed by a salt cave session. I have never done something like this before. The owner explained everything and made me feel so special and comfortable. After the infrared, my foot which had an implant inserted almost two years ago, felt better and far less painful. (I was beating it to death walking St. Augustine). After the salt session, I was breathing easier. The place is absolutely devoted to cleanliness. It is such a wonderful experience!!! read more

I have never in my life encountered such horrible customer service from an owner. Beata was extremely rude, demeaning & cared more about making money vs health, safety & welfare of others. My daughter & I booked a package on a Tuesday at 6 pm for Wednesday at 11 am. We woke up feeling ill & tested ourself for covid & out of respect for the spa & its employees- we did not go to our appts. We phoned at 8 am, 9 am, & 10 am & emailed several times as well to explain our situation & how we did not feel comfortable exposing others. We were told we could come in to our appt. We asked to have a call back from the owner & stated we would not be coming in & pleaded not to be charged. The next day we were charged $196 for massages. This establishment has 0 provisions for covid or illness. We were very frustrated & disappointed when the owner called us with rudeness & combativeness. She actually sent a message after our call saying it sounded like we were driving when we spoke to her & must not be very sick. This is very offensive as my daughter & I are both immunocompromised. We realize that the therapists need some compensation. We would have been happy to provide their tip to them. It's unfortunate that the owner was so rude & verbally berated us. The other employees we spoke to were kind & apologetic. Definitely would never recommend Salt Spa. read more

My boyfriend and I wanted to get a massage before we left from our trip to St. Augustine. He called to make an appointment for a couple's massage and they ask if I prefer a male or female masseuse, of course I say male because in my experience male masseuses always have better pressure. Wrong. During the massage I requested 2x to have harder pressure and was told "absolutely!" but nothing changed...If someone requests more or less pressure shouldn't that be accommodated? I don't get it. Waste of money. My boyfriend loved his massage though. Pretty spa too. Would return only to see a top masseuse there. read more

My massage at Salt Spa was spot-on fantastic. Ted did an exquisite job, his pressure was perfect and he respected my need for quiet. I would request him again. However, there was a lot of noise outside our door. There are signs asking for clients to whisper yet the staff could not manage to be quiet themselves. I could hear cabinets shutting and staff talking. When I asked my massage therapist if he could either drown the noise out with a fan or go ask them to be quiet, his response was that they were just about to finish their intake with a new client. I could tell it was staff being noisy, not an intake between client and therapist. Also my massage started 15 minutes late and there was not one apology. When you're paying the big bucks, it seems like a simple sorry would have been easy to do. Finally, I was told on the phone that even though they haven't seen anyone write a check in years that I could do so. At checkout time I was told otherwise. I understand with out-of-state checks that things get risky, but I was bothered that I was told on the phone that I could indeed write a check. I need to remember to always get a name. I went there for the first time. I have been to 3 salt rooms and this one had a very relaxing atmosphere over all I did not get any of the benefits I got from my other Salt room experiences in Orlando. I go there because I suffer from severe sinuses and allergies. That night I was more of a mess than when I got there. I did not have any relief.... It was very pricey. When I asked the women why the salt was not coming out of the vents like other salt rooms she told me a waterfall that was there releases the salt and I would get all the benefits from that. I really think she did not turn on the machine to release the salt for me, and when I asked she gave me a story that they don't turn it on all the time and then spoke bad about the other salt rooms that have the salt released from their vents that I have been to. I am not sure what I paid for maybe to sit in a room for relaxation that was it. I felt she just took my money and did not want to turn the machine on for me. Very unsatisfied. read more
