This was my first time to meet with an acupuncturist and I was very interested and had a lot of questions. She was EXTREMELY knowledgeable. I will be going back to see Mary and I highly recommend her. The following week I saw Mindy for Massage. It was absolutely wonderful. What a great place for a couples massage. The place is located in a plaza on the second floor. We used the outside stairs. We were greeted by a friendly lady who immediately took us to another area to fill out some paperwork. She asked if we wanted some wine or sangria or water to drink. The room was dimly lit and there was music playing all for making a very relaxing atmosphere. After the paperwork was filled out we were taken to a room with two massage tables side by side. The two massage therapists introduced themselves and told us to undress and get on the table under the covers. There was lovely relaxing music playing. The room felt very comfortable. And so began our hot stone massage. It was just the right amount of pressure and heat from the stones. After 50 minutes our wonderful session was over. I was recently researching massage and wellness centers in the local area and I came upon Mindy's Wellness Center, located right up the road in World Golf Village. I have lived in World Golf Village for almost 14 years and was never able to find a massage therapist close to home. They had an introductory 50 minute massage for $49, so I booked my appointment for the same day. My massage therapist was Amanda, who was very professional and in tune to my needs and what I was looking to get out of the massage today. I had explained to her that being in the medical field for so many years, I have a lot of wear and tear on my body. So today, we focused on the areas of concern, which were my neck and lower back. I did specify that I like deep tissue massages because of the tightness that is felt in my problem areas. Amanda collected her information and got to work. I could feel the tension in my problem areas melt away with every single stroke and pressure point release. I have found it very difficult to find a massage therapist that actually understands and delivers the massage that I'm asking for. After today's session, I feel that search is over. I feel so much better after my massage and I didn't even get a full body massage! You are already looking forward to relaxing when you're greeted by a waterfall and soothing music that permeates throughout the building and a dimly lit setting. The receptionist was very professional and immediately directed me to the sitting area where I filled out my paperwork. I was offered a variety of drinks, including wine. They also offer services other than massage which includes facials and waxing. It should also be noted that they have a Heroes program. Firefighters, EMS, Nurses and Teachers all get the introductory rate all year long! That's right, an awesome massage all year long for just $49 and $69 if you want 80 minutes. I will definitely be back because it's one of the best massages I've ever received. So grateful they opened up close to home. read more

Went yesterday for my first ever Brazilian wax...I did order it through Groupon and had no problem booking an appointment...but bc I ordered through Groupon it was already paid and I didn't have cash to tip Jess who waxed me, so I also got an upper lip added on...$15 for an upper lip wax seems a little outrageous, but I happily paid it as I got a deal on the Brazilian... Jess was great and made me feel as comfortable as possible considering it is a pretty invasive thing to have done by a stranger...she made me laugh many times and even though it was honestly on the more painful side (not her fault as I let the area grow out) I went ahead with the entire wax...she does it in even sections so you can choose how much further you can go without it being uneven... My only gripe would be that I was completely unaware there were people being massaged down the other hallway (didn't realize until Jess mentionedshe also did massages, etc...and I realized there could be other people there), and I definitely shouted out a few times...walls aren't insulated, so they definitely heard me, and I felt badly I was interrupting other people's relaxation time...but what made it worse was I found out that someone came out to the receptionist (another woman who works there) and asked what kind of appointment I was...I know this bc my friend was sitting in the waiting room waiting for me...not only is that kind of embarrassing to hear, but I would think you would do your best not to schedule massages while someone else has a more painful treatment scheduled as to not have them ruin the other people's experiences which is kind of what I was made to feel like after coming out into the waiting room to pay for the extra service. While Jess is super nice and professional I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel returning for another wax knowing people are there to relax and I'd most likely yelp out loud again...and the woman questioning my appointment was at the desk when I was paying and seemed very standoffish...I think they do a good job, especially Jess which is why I stuck with giving 4 stars, but I don't think I would put myself into that situation again...to be made to feel uncomfortable or that I'm doing something wrong when getting a Brazilian is nothing like a massage at all. read more

My 1st Brazilian Wax was with Meagan on yesterday and it was actually not as horrifying as I thought it would be. I mean I planned, prepped and prayed because based on the horror stories of getting this done for the first time I just knew I would be passed out after the first strip. I really can't imagine someone not just loving everything about Mindy's. From the amazing Wendy that always manages to get me booked when I don't plan so well. To the amazing therapeutic work that Mindy and her staff provide. I joke often that Mindy's has kept me mobile for the last year. But it's actually very true. Multiple serious injuries including multiple breaks throughout my spine, and chronic Lyme disease. The energy is so great in the spa, sometimes I feel more relaxed just after walking in. Two weeks ago, I manage to sprain my knee while gracefully walking down some treacherous stairs. Not a major sprain, but with a trip to WDW in less than four days, I wanted a quick solution. I do not tolerate NSAIDS well. I decided to ask Mindy if she could help. BEST DECISION EVER. Mindy applied an ultrasound treatment to the affected area and massaged the right muscles around it. At 5,000 months pregnant in the middle of summer I've been dying for a little relief. I'm carrying $& more lbs than my body is used to and I felt like it was really putting a strain on my 5' frame. My husband's attempts at giving me a massage...well let's say they left something to be desired. I tried one spa (that shall remain nameless) and had a male masseuse who may not have been as in tune with how to make a very pregnant body comfortably. Before anybody jumps down my throat for that statement 1) it was just an observation/opinion to which I am entitled 2) I'm sure there are plenty of male masseuses that give great prenatal massages. Ok moving on from my PC disclaimer.... Mindy was a dream come true for my aches and pains. She's had four babies and was well aware of what my body needed. The room was clean and comfortable and my massage started promptly. I was instantly transported to a state of relaxation. So much so I found myself making sure I didn't fall asleep because I wanted to be "present" for the experience. Mindy did not have me lie flat on my back -at all- which was a fear of mine considering that when I'm on my back I feel like my uterus is going to suffocate me. I'm sure it's a bit trickier to do an entire massage with a person laying on one side or the other but I never felt like I got short changed as a result. I had an amazing 80 minute massage today by Mindy, the owner. I walked in with a migraine and left feeling human again. The facility is very clean and decorated nicely. They offer refreshments and they give you a bottle of water after your massage to flush out the toxins released by the session. They are reasonably priced for their services and offer package discounts. I took advantage of the first time customer special of $69 for an 80 minute massage.
