I visited The Salt Shack with my grandma a few months ago and absolutely loved the atmosphere. The waterfront views are beautiful, and sitting outside on the patio gives such a relaxed, beachy vibe right in downtown Clermont. It's such a fun spot to enjoy on a nice Florida day. I've only tried the shrimp tacos so far, but they were really good, and I usually pair them with a beer while enjoying the view. It is a little on the pricier side, but the atmosphere and location make it worth it for me. I went to salt shack on the lake a few months ago and I had a pleasant experience so I returned for Father's Day my husband sent me out for a nice dinner while he's working and my experience was a 0/10 as i will not be returning and neither should anyone else! First and foremost their food portions have gotten very small I mean the rice was so hard and the shrimp was so tiny and could have been cooked more on the grill I did not complaint so much I purchased another meal to go that's when the waitress was so nasty! I don't have to be a white woman to be respected I work and my husband work very hard for our money and her attitude was gross I asked her if she could take up all of the plates because I was waiting for the meal and my area was still dirty I am used to going to restaurants where I am treated well and highly respected this however was not the case she insulted me in front of customers and was very hostile towards me I kindly ask for a manager from another waitress and the manager was no different she was very rude and also a white woman there was hair in my drinks, food was horrible today, I left her $0 for a tip for her nasty attitude, and the manager is a nasty woman. I will not be returning here and they have dogs next to customers under the beach table while they eat which is also a very nasty health concern. What a fun bar in central Florida! There were many people enjoying the beach and coming up off boats. The parking area was very small but there is an overflow lot near by. There was a big line outside of the restaurant, so we were worried there would be a long wait. To our surprise, it was only 15 minutes. They text you when your table is ready. We were able to grab drinks at the bar in the meantime. For lunch, I ordered the grouper tacos and my friend ordered the chicken fingers. Everything was hot and fresh, and tasted great. Today I decided to treat myself to go out for lunch. Had this Restaurant in my plans for a while. Surprisingly it is extremely big but very busy. Being that was only one person I decided to choose the bar. The staff was extremely friendly at the bar. I think it'd only took maybe about 30 seconds and I had a drink in front of me. Even though I knew exactly what I was gonna have I even had a menu. I ordered the tuna Tata. It only took about 10 or so minutes and my lunch was in front of me. Very nice presentation. And even though this is an appetizer, it is ample for a main dish. Like I said, the presentation was fabulous, but the taste was spectacular. Very spacious large dining area inside with lots of seating. They also offer patio seating and large picnic tables outside in the sandy area. Very beachy laid back vibes with the sand, shells, lake view, boats and Adirondack chairs. It was a busy Friday night but we were checked in within 30 minutes of arriving. Long enough to take in the awesome views. We sat in the Adirondack chairs under the large oak tree, waiting for the text letting us know when our table was ready. Our order was taken promptly and brought out quickly. We enjoyed the stacked ahi appetizer, which was served with perfectly crisp taro chips. The layers were seaweed, avocado and ahi tuna, topped with sesame seeds. It was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the fish and chips. They were very good but not a great value. It is mostly French fries with several chunks of fried fish bites. The fish he had was very tasty though, he just wished it had more. I ordered the chimmichuri steak. The steak was tender and cooked medium well. They have an odd pork based sauce served with the fried yuca that I did not care for. Absolutely loved this place! We originally were supposed to meet up at another restaurant close by but fortunately it was closed that day so we went to Plan B. Opened Yelp, read the reviews and said let's meet here. Parking has about 15 spots next to the restaurant than a larger lot very close. You enter through what looks like a side door and a small hostess stand with a very friendly young lady took us to our table. The gentleman who was our waiter was very nice however my only complaint would be he could have been more attentive. We started with the Ahi and Fish bites. Both were excellent and a hit with the table. I ordered the grouper sandwich, lightly blackened and it was PERFECT! Everyone else enjoyed their meal, they all got the fish tacos. The location is right on the lake, with great views, tables outside as well as the AC inside. The service was amazing for being so late, usually going to restaurants late you get less than ideal service. Wish i could remember waitress name because she was awesome! I learned about Salt Shack from social media so my fiancee and I decided to check it out for dinner. It's a waterfront restaurant with an indoor area and a large outdoor patio + a sandy area and picnic tables at the water. We were seated on the wood patio area that overlooked the water and picnic tables. We were hoping for a nice sunset dinner but it was pretty overcast and threatening to rain so there wasn't a sunset to see. We still enjoyed looking out over the water and people watching. You can pull right up to the restaurant from the water and dock your boat on the shore which is really neat! It took a little bit for our server to greet us initially but once she did she was superb. I wish I remembered her name! She checked on us often and brought drink refills before we could even ask. We ordered the fish dip as an appetizer and grouper tacos and crab cakes for entrees. All of our food came out very quickly, we were surprised since it was pretty busy when we were there. The fish dip tasted great, my only request was that it came with jalapeños. We were so hungry that it was mostly gone by the time our server came around so I didn't ask for any. We did enjoy the spicy sauce that came with it, I think it was the guava cocktail sauce? I got two grouper tacos (you can get 2 or 3) and I'm happy I only got two! They were the most hefty tacos I've had in a long time! I was shocked at how much fish was in them. They tasted great, no complaints at all! For my side I got the yucca fries which come drizzled in a pork chimichurri sauce. The sauce was good, a different approach compared to the usual white sauces that come with yucca fries. The fries were a little soggy, possibly bc of the sauce but I still enjoyed them. Next time I may ask for the sauce on the side. My fiancee got the crab cake dinner, theres a crab cake sandwich and the crab cake entree and the price is about $7 different. The dinner comes with 2 crab cakes vs the sandwich which I would assume is only one. It's a good deal to get the dinner and get a second crab cake. He asked for a side of the key lime aioli for his crab cakes. I tried a bite of his crab cake and I think it might've been the best crab cake i've ever had, it was SO good! We both really loved the key lime aioli as well. I noticed on their menu they have a lot of unique sauces, I definitely want to try some others next time we go! I ventured to the bathroom and was a bit surprised by the placement of mirrors and the paper towel dispenser. Whomever installed it must have been very tall! I could see from my eyes to the top of my head in the mirror and water ran down my arms as I reached up to use the paper towel dispenser. It was honestly comical at how out of place the setup was. Nonetheless, I was able to do my business and we still loved our experience so no harm, no foul, just a laugh. Overall, we had an amazing experience and were very impressed. The person I was with took a bite as well and we both couldn't even swallow it, it was tough and disgusting. Located in downtown Clermont on Lake Minneola, this restaurant has a boat house type of feel with lots of different seating options; outside, inside and even a patio area. We opted to sit inside and watch the game and were greeted by our server Natalia. She was easy going and attentive. For drinks my husband ended up ordering their pina colada, it was made with fresh ingredients and even had shaved coconut on top. Way better than any cruise ship pina colada. To start we ordered the lobster bisque, it had a really creamy taste which I adored and yes there was lobster in every bite.
