Pretty simple!! owners / staff except one lady needs some training in smiling and being politely communicating. There was this older lady who did not seem happy that we were there, but then maybe she was very tired. We got two type of Biriyani's and two Shrimp fried rice. The two biriyani's they had put the rice on top of a small portion of the curry. The curry portion was not enough for the rice. I would say the taste of the curry portion was good enough though. The fried rice which was two orders of Shrimp fried rice, one had three shrimp in it and the other had about ten. So clearly they had not properly portioned it. Luckily since it was me and my wife got the fried rice, we exchanged shrimp between us. Garlic naan was good. Delicious and authentic Indian food spot. I normally take it to go but we decided to eat inside. We were greeted and sat immediately by a friendly waiter. We got the lollipop chicken, we both haven't had it before and it was great. It came with a chili sauce that my boyfriend loved but I enjoyed it more plain. He got the biryani HOT and was crying because it was spicy and so fresh. He was full but managed to eat almost all of it because he didn't want to waste it. He was very impressed! I got my usual butter chicken spicy with naan. I asked for mint chutney to pour on my rice since it's my fav. The food was great here! My wife got the Chicken Dum Biryani and I got the Kadai Masala (with lamb). Both were really excellent! The Kadai Masala was really flavorful and the basmati rice was perfect! The spices were very good! It was the first time I had this dish so I don't really have a basis of comparison but it was excellent! The "spicy" level of hotness was good and really spicy-i like spicy food-the "very spicy" level must be REALLY hot! The Garlic Naan was also excellent. Only drawback is that there is NO atmosphere in the restaurant-they probably do a lot of take-out orders. We were literally the only people in the place at 5:30 pm which was a little weird. It appears that they used to have LCD screen menus on the wall but they're all broken and falling apart. The young lady behind the counter was very nice but didn't seem to know what she was doing. So basically zero atmosphere, marginal though pleasant customer service, and really great food. One of the better Indian restaurants I've had in the Austin area. Ordered ahead and had it ready right as I got there to pick it up. Plenty of parking and plenty of seating inside too. I don't know what "traditional" Indian food is, but this has the hallmark of somewhere between homey and traditional as it took everything I'm familiar with (warm spices, chutneys, tandoori, curry things) and elevated it a bit more. I don't know what that "it" is, but it's good. We started with some potato samosas and they were delicious. Perfectly fried, good chutneys and stuffed with spiced potatoes and peas. Some of the best I've had. The tandoori chicken butter chicken is one of the best versions of the dish I've had anywhere, with extra flavorful chicken in a creamy tomato based curry sauce. The medium heat level actually packs decent punch. We got ours with some paratha and while it's the perfect thing to dip in there, it's not quite as layered and crisp as I would have liked. The biriyani also comes with plentiful rice, raita and another sauce that is a good melange of flavors. The dum chicken is very tender, not quite fall off the bone, but definitely comes apart easily but given how good the tandoori chicken is, I would go with that on the biriyani instead. It was time to introduce my youngest grandson to Indian Food. I felt he would get the best experience at Salt N Pepper -a short drive to Cedar Park and we were there! The huge menu is easily seen above the counter however since we were dining in we were advised we could simply take a seat and use the digital app to obtain the menu. We took a comfortable booth and a server came over to offer assistance. She also brought us complimentary bottled waters. I asked her to make some recommendations to my grandson -as to some of the more common foods, he may want to try. She was very nice and very helpful. I asked her for time to make decisions and she said she would gladly come back to take our order. (You can also order right through that digital menu.) I did ask her to return, which she did after giving us a few minutes to make decisions. I think Indian food is designed to share so that is exactly what we decided to do. We both just wished there were more of us so that we could've opted for many dishes, as it was very hard to choose. My grandson wanted to try a curry so he requested the family, friendly, chicken curry, we also ordered samosas. What's your filmed with aromatics along with peas and potato encased in a crunchy delicious pastry. I ordered a Dosa after discussing it with our server, she explained it as a large round light pastry and you could get a filling inside which we chose one of the vegetarian ones that she mentioned. We didn't need any naan ----but had to order it because even if we needed to take it home, I knew it would be delicious. Our Samosas arrived and hot, with dipping sauces, accompanying them one a milder green sauce, and the other a savory orange sauce and was addictive and built heat on the back of your tongue. Next came the bowl of chicken curry with a nice bowl of rice that accompanied it. Our butter naan and garlic naan also arrived. On the third trip back to us came the dosa. Oh my goodness -I was shocked although she had described it is a large & round- I had no idea how big it was actually going to be!!! It was rolled up like a crepe , with a large mound of vegetarian deliciousness in the middle. It was huge! The chicken curry was mild as ordered, but still held spices that made it very flavorful. The chicken was moist and delicious. I don't think my grandson had ever seen long grain rice, and he asked about it. After tasting it, he agreed that it was very flavorful and perfect for the curry. We both begin to tear off pieces of the Dosa. I wasn't really sure how to eat it, but we worked our way through a very large portion of it!!! It was really good and it came with three different dipping sauces one that was ginger one that was garlicky and one that was lentil forward. That one was definitely my favorite and my grandson enjoyed all three! I discussed the dosa a little bit further with our server, and she advised that it's quite often a breakfast item. I could easily imagine that. We ended up with To Go containers of the curry and rice and a portion of the Dosa as well. This is our favorite Indian restaurant in the area, and my all time personal favorite. I'm very weak with spice and they always accommodate and I can handle their heat here. Butter chicken is of course my favorite. The garlic naan is so good! Delicious food with large portions. The place is not fancy but it has heart. The service is nice, You order at the counter and they bring you your food and tableware. They even have to-go containers and plastic bags to take home what you can't finish. Water in the bottle is given to you as well. When I've traveled in the past to India, the food always had rich Indian flavors, but it was mild. I think spicy hot must be a regional thing in other parts of India. That's some of what I like so much here... when I ask for mild food, that is exactly what I get here. A little about the Chicken Tikka Kabobs. They serve them on a sizzling pan. They are nicely marinated,properly cooked with just the right amount of char. They are tender and melt in your mouth. The garlic naan tonight was also perfect, hot and moist like it was fresh made at the time it was served. The atmosphere and service are not spectacular.But the food was sooo good I'll give them a pass. We came when takeout was very busy. So they were kind of slow. But I love the Kabobs. P.S. Food is pretty good but unfortunately we were left waiting 40-50 minutes for our entrees today. The main waiter/ person at the front was on the phone for an extended period of time in what I can't imagine was an actual business-related call. Simply put, it couldn't have been for a takeout order with how long we were sitting there waiting for him to finish talking. We do love the food, but waiting nearly an hour for takeout for two entrees is difficult to justify. We asked about our meal and then realized it was done for who knows how long, and because the person at the front was on the phone, he simply didn't notice our finished order was done. We probably were there for like 10-20 extra minutes because of that. Person at the front didn't apologize, just gave us the food and then continued talking on the phone. This is a general problem with this establishment. We've been before and had to wait for up to an hour for food to come out. There's not enough staff here. There were like 2 people total in the restaurant as customers, so there's no reason to wait that long. Dishes were left on tables for the entire time we were there and weren't bussed. Yesterday I came back and placed a to-go order. When I came into the establishment at about 12:35PM, there were no other customers in the establishment. Accordingly, I assumed my order would come out expeditiously. I requested an order of Singapore noodles and hot and sour soup. However, the Singapore noodles were not available and in turn the cashier suggested the Hakka noodles. I took her advice and ordered the Hakka noodles with shrimp. Unfortunately, these Hakka noodles were dry in that they seemed devoid of the sauces that traditional Hakka noodles have that give them flexibility within a dish. The soup was just that hot (with heat) and lots of pepper and a little sour, but there was no sustenance/body in the soup, it was more like a thick broth. From first walking in the door, the restaurant was clean and inviting. The lady behind the ordering counter was very friendly and helpful. It's order at the counter style and then they bring it out to you. I watched all the food being delivered to other tables and became increasingly interested in how my food would be. Everything looked so authentic and delicious. I ordered the Veggie Spring Rolls, Potato Samosa and Tandoor Chicken (Spicy). She did let me know they had four spice levels...Mild, Medium, Spicy and Extra Spicy. When the food arrived at the table, it was fresh and hot and looked amazing. The flavors were rich. Despite dine and wine on their sign, this is more of a fast casual place - like Tarka or Masala Wok in its early stages. It's very much Americanized, hence the name is beyond just for the salt and pepper taste profiles. We got butter chicken and achari paneer. The chicken was made with sliced white meat which also makes things dry. It also could use a bit more cream for my taste. Meanwhile the achari paneer, the gravy was too tangy and paneer was tough. Not that important, but there wasn't any garnishing on the dishes. The rice was generic since it wasn't so fragrant. A drizzle of oil or a coriander leaf to top each dish off would add a nice caring touch and show level of detail. read more

The place is pretty great! You can seat yourself and order via QR code but the staff was helpful and came around to put in our order. The vindaloo curry with lamb was soo good. I got the medium spice and it was spicy but not overwhelmingly so. This is purely on the basis of customer service. The lady on the front desk - Preeti , was rude! Her tone completely changed as soon as I pulled the offer on my phone . She said their system doesn't allows to scan or add offers. When I asked for the manager she said he isn't there. And said that even yesterday some customer tried to redeem offer and even then they couldn't do it! Also, I don't think you need to be rude if you cannot accommodate anything! There is a way to politely say this to your customer !
