Stay Here! While exploring the area I was looking for an affordable place to stay. Salt Hotel came up, I love the name. I am a beach lover so it worked for me. Upon arriving, I was checking out all the decor. Love it! My room was nice, it had the basics which are all you need. I had a nice hot shower and comfy bed. My stay was peaceful and quite. Parking lot is located across to street. I liked the fact that there was a pub on site. Service was good and food was good. The best part of my meal was the dessert, yum! read more

This is a lovingly fixed up and maintained old coastal hotel, basic but really thoughtful and charming. We had a downstairs queen room with our 2 big dogs. I loved being able to walk out from our room to the sweet little Ilwaco waterfront, eat delicious lunches and dinners on the dog-friendly Salt Pub patio watching barn swallows, purple martins, white crowed sparrows nesting, blue herons, a bald eagle, killdeer, cormorants, and gulls. Downsides: The in-room coffee maker was one of those that drips through a tea-bag-of-coffee and not good. There is a coffee shop two doors down, which opens at 8, so that saved my life! Also, the goat milk shampoos bar did NOT work for me--greasy smelly hair. We needed a downstairs room on account of elderly dogs, and we definitely heard the people above us loud and clear. read more

Restaurant was way over priced and small portions, they even charged 1.75 for a little ranch dressing, My fish and chips were 60 percent breading and very small portions. Coffee was good. read more

I'm really picky, so 5 stars is a big deal. This place is CLEAN! Rooms are cozy with a cool vibe and great furniture/art. Only thing I'd wish for is a bigger shower, but the staff is LOVELY and they totally have their shit together. Bonus: suana on site! Stay here! You'll love it! read more

We had a decent stay, with the location being the highlight as we were attending a wrestling tournament at the nearby high school. The staff was exceptionally kind. However, I noticed several issues during our stay, and I typically do not provide feedback or reviews. 1. Room Temperature: Our room was uncomfortably hot, at least 80 degrees and muggy. Despite turning off the heat, running the fan on high, and keeping the window open, the temperature did not improve. Even my in-laws noticed how hot our room was. It was a chilly weekend with the high being 65, so there was no reason we could find on why the room wouldn't cool off. 2. Odor: The room had a persistent, stagnant smell resembling mildew or mustiness, possibly due to the heat. The odor did not dissipate despite the open window and running fan. Again, not unbearable, but definitely noticeable and unpleasant. 3. Cleanliness: There were cobwebs and dust throughout the room, including in the bathroom and corners. Cobwebs were visible even from the bottom bunk, and a thick layer of dust covered the blue wall, nightstand lamps, and table. My children noticed the dust in the ceiling corners from the top bunk. 4. Bedding: After the first night, I requested new sheets, which we never received. Our bed had sand under the covers before we had even laid in it. Additionally, there was a makeup-like stain on the duvet, several hair strands in the sheets, and random crumbs, suggesting the bedding had not been changed prior to our stay. Overall, I was disappointed with our experience, especially after reading so many positive reviews about this property. We didn't spend much time in the room and mostly was just in there to sleep (thankfully) so there was really no reason for me to complain to house keeping about these things. I just hope the family staying in the room after us has a better experience with cleanliness. read more

Salt Hotel is a compromise. The downsides are that the rooms are very small and very basic. if you are looking for anything close to luxury, keep looking. The wifi was subpar on our recent stay, not allowing us to watch Netflix at times. The showers are tiny stalls. I'm 6'2" and 200 Ibs. - not exactly large framed and showering required thoughtful effort to rinse off soap. If you are larger framed, the shower is going to be an interesting challenge. The water temperature fluctuates too. I assume when a toilet is flushed somewhere else in the building that is what causes the cold water flow in the shower to reduce, making the shower water hotter, so you have to adjust the shower water -- and when the toilet tank fills the water temp changes again. These are, admittedly, first world problems. Bottomline: Salt Hotel is clean and fairly comfortable, if you are an average size person or smaller who does not expect luxury. read more

This place was pretty great! We booked through hotels.com, so you never really know, but they were really attentive and helpful for a no-frills place. They originally had us upstairs but my wife has difficulty if there's no elevator so they found us a place on the first floor. Even allowed a late checkout! My favorite thing was being able to communicate with the staff by text. As a notorious phonephobic, it was really helpful. The only issue... I wish they didn't play loud music i the courtyard right outside the rooms. It didn't happen on Thursday but was present for much of Friday, not ending til after 8:30. We go away for quiet.... if I want music I can turn on my own.... read more

Rooms were stuffy our entire stay. Hot water was lukewarm at best, and you'll waste a lot of water waiting to find that out. Our shower had a riser to make it higher. I guess a lot of 7 foot people must stay here. The problem was, the water would basically just spray you in the head. You couldn't get any further back from it. If you're not directly on the marina side, you'll hear vehicles at night. Lastly, just know that the room we stayed in was about the size of a medium residential bedroom. We'll not be back, and can't recommend this place to others. read more

The good: The people that work at the hotel have to be the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. Everyone that works there will go above and beyond and go out of their way to be helpful. Food is cool but no room service after 6:30 and no phone in the room either. Tried to call on my cell but no answer. The bad: Yes, plenty. The room was completely outdated, the bed hard as stone, and the shower only gives a lukewarm sensation. The room key has the room number on it, easy for someone to copy, and a break-in. The walls are paper-thin. Every noise can be heard clear as day, if you are a light sleeper you will be in agony. They state most of the rooms have views. This is not true. Most rooms only have a view of the parking lot out front. Only "premium rooms" have a dock view which is somewhat lackluster compared to Long Beach or Astoria. read more

This place is so overpriced it was ridiculous. We booked thru a third party and they only offered a queen room even tho they had a king available because they wanted to hold out for more money. But they don't answer their phone ever. And when they finally call back its days later. The rooms were so small and shoddy. You couldn't get much cheaper quality. Tv counter was made from scrap wood. The showers were the smallest I've ever been in and theres no counter, table to put anything on. No table to sit so we had to eat our take out pizza on the bed. Its very noisy both in the evening because of the restaurant bar right below and in the morning people were getting up early and disrespectful. There was no maid or even towel service for two days. I'm sure there are quieter, nicer, cheaper, more picturesque places in the area. I do not recommend. read more

Salt was the first place I went when I moved to Ilwaco WA. Something about the place called to me and for good reason. The food was great, the view amazing and the feel of the place is very modern yet comfortable. The menu has your obligatory staples: burger, tuna melt, fries, etc; however, even those items are prepared in a way that makes them special and down right better then any other restaurant I've been to on the peninsula. Everything is made from scratch and done with a twist that makes salt a very unique dinning experience. There is literally nothing on the menu I don't want to try, which isn't easy to do for me sometimes. As for the hotel, I've never stayed. I have seen many of the rooms and checked out the awesome beds they have. Never seen a king sized bunk bed until now, let alone lay down on a king size bunk with an amazing memory foam mattress. If I wasn't just looking, I could have stayed in that bed forever. The rooms have a similar look and feel as the pub, Modern yet comfortable. The color scheme is nice on the eyes, the walls aren't covered in tacky hotel art and the bathrooms have full size shampoo and conditioner bottles! I also noticed that house keeping uses all green cleaning products, which to me is a huge plus. Especially because they smell really good and walking into a room gives me warm memories of being at my moms house. ( they must use the same products to clean ) All in all I would have to say that salt is my favorite place to go on the peninsula. The owners are great people, which you see there all the time, as well as their two kids whom are just the cutest. The whole staff and owners really make you feel welcome and part of the family. If you are curious about going to salt to eat or stay over, do not hesitate, you will be glad you went and will likely make it your new favorite place too! read more

I love love love Salt. It's cozy, quiet, and everything is just so... easy. Check in takes 5 minutes max. The rooms are absolutely perfect, although I'm sure it's not everyone's preferred aesthetic. The rooms are simple in the best way - everything is highly functional and very cute. Our king sized memory foam bed was ridiculously comfortable. The simplicity - and the color scheme - lend themselves to a peaceful atmosphere. Let's see... random things: 1) Full size shampoo and conditioner was much appreciated - I have a lot of hair, so those little bottles just don't cut it. 2) Super dog friendly. There's a minimal pet fee, but no extra questions or paperwork or anything... just walk your dog in and that's that. The boardwalk behind the hotel is a great place to walk your pups. 3) Really good food, in the pub, which was comfortable and warmly lit. 4) There's a marijuana dispensary next door with reasonable prices and very fast service - no smoking in your hotel room, obviously, but the convenient location was great. read more

I was lucky enough to find lodging here over the 4th of July weekend. This was my first trip to the area but quickly learned the lay of the land. Salt has a great location, close to Long Beach, Astoria, and a bunch of yummy restaurants are a quick drive away. The hotel is completely renovated; new, clean fixtures, simple and adequate. The showerhead was amazing and so was the water pressure, something I have really come to appreciate. The weather at night is really cool and comfortable so there is no need for air conditioning. You just open the window for ventilation. The bed was sooo comfortable and the street noise minimal; we slept like babies! The new owners have really put together a wonderfully accommodating place, they were really genuine and generous. We had a lovely, cozy stay and would love to come back again! read more

This is 2 1/2 for food, 3 1/2 for service! Also note the Pub only has high tables with very high stools, so elderly or mobility challenged this is not for you if you cannot eat outside. I was very limited for time. Looking at the menu l thought the Cuban sandwich would be fast (and cold). It's not! The person who took the order and the person who checked the status and packed the order were quick. It was Saturday market so I appreciated that. The order also substituted a salad for the potatoes. There was an extra charge. The negatives: sandwich and salad were in the same box, sandwich on top of the salad. Soggy bread. But, I think the bread was soggy with grease anyway! I used every napkin they included to wrap the leftover half sandwich. The napkins were soaked through with grease when I got home. Believe it or not, I thought they made the wrong sandwich. I honestly thought I got a Rueban. There were the two meats (pork and ham), there was stone ground mustard. The bread was some kind of rye...maybe marble rye. And instead of sliced pickles, I think it had sauerkraut or maybe grilled onions. I ate it because I was hungry, and had no other option until late afternoon. The salad had nice greens, some sad cherry tomatoes, and a very few pieces of a very hot onion. Wilted during the few minutes I walked to my bus, most likely because it had a hot panini sandwich on top of it. The balsamic dressing was the best thing! I may try them again, if I can get seating for me and my Walker. The place was packed! read more

What a great stay at Salt! The newly renovated hotel was a perfect pick for a weekend getaway. It's so nice to see new life brought into an older structure and the owners have done a great job. Our room was awesome, clean and beautifully decorated- modern but charming. The bed was SO comfortable and the cork floors were warm and comfy underfoot. If you're there during chillier weather the heat works really well too (something we've learned is a not always a given at places by the coast). The family that owns the place is awesome: super-nice people that seem to love what they do. It was my birthday- they even left a sweet note and chocolate in the room as a welcome :) Located at a charming marina and so close to all the good stuff on the peninsula- Cape Disappointment nearby and an easy drive to the businesses in Seaview/ Long Beach. If you're looking for a place to stay in the Ilwaco area look no further- it's a big step above all the sub-par, kitschy hotels. Thank you Salt! read more

An awesome location right on the Ilwaco harbor. My two annoying terriers and I spent three days/two nights in a cozy queen and really enjoyed the hotel. The proprietors (Jules and Leila) are SUPER friendly and accommodating and have done a great job physically refurbishing the hotel. I have been sharing this excellent get-away location with all my friends and will certainly be visiting again!! I'm saving my five-star rating for my next visit when they've finished up the public spaces and get the upstairs kitchen going! read more

Color me very impressed. The room I stayed in was cozy, comfortable and very clean. A great place as a headquarters for your adventures on the peninsula. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is pet friendly, which is great! They also have a great little pub. The menu is small but to die for. Definitely try the pulled pork nachos. Heaven! Quick and friendly service as well. The pub is family friendly and it also has a pool table. Great place to have a yummy meal and a quick get away when it's pouring outside. I'm already planning my next visit! read more

Simple. Clean. And most importantly they accept pups! Great spot to walk along the water with only a short drive to Astoria, Long Beach, and Cape Disappointment State Park. The pub has great food but can get kind loud at night. Would highly recommend. Only complaint is the bottom of the door has a wide gap and got a little breezy. Solved easily with a rug folded and shoved beneath. read more

The owner is excellent and wants people to explore and enjoy the local environs. The rooms are quaint, clean, and a comfortable base camp for your adventures. The pub attached is comfortable and makes some fantastic food, with well crafted drinks to match and a beautiful view of the port. Overall, an excellent stay. I am looking forward to visiting again in the future read more

This hotel is fantastic. Our stay was short but we will be back again. The hotel has a welcoming, comfortable vibe and it is clearly an anchor of the Ilwaco waterfront. Check in took under three minutes. The staff is warm and knowledgeable, I got a great recommendation for a breakfast place. The room was clean and the bed was comfy and cozy. The Salt Pub has a casual and friendly atmosphere. I had a great cheeseburger and they even cooked up a scrambled egg for my young son. Free coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning and a comfortable common area to hang in. I highly recommend staying at The Salt. It is clear that the owners care a lot about the hotel and the area. Ilwaco is nestled between Long Beach and Astoria so there is plenty to see and do but it is a way less touristy and hyped up. In the summer/fall there is a nice farmers market. read more

I am writing to review the Hotel. We did not get a chance to check out the pub but it looked fun and smelled incredible! The location is perfect in a very small, cute harbor town. We called to get a same day room reservation and Layla (sp?) the owner was so kind and flexible with us! The room is small but clean and comfortable. It was perfect for us and our two dogs. It was well appointed with minimalist decor, local and earth friendly toiletries and a coffee maker. The hotel is right off the small boardwalk and makes for an easy, scenic stroll. The hotel is about 5 minutes from Long Beach and a pretty 20 minute drive from Astoria. We will definitely be back and will surely tell all of our friends about this hidden gem. Thanks Layla and the Salt pub and Hotel! read more

This is a tough review for me to write. I never like leaving negative reviews. But had I read the reviews I probably would have chose to stay somewhere else. We had originally planned to stay two nights with our two dogs. However, just were not comfortable and left after one night. We drove 2 1/2 hrs home just to sleep in our own bed. We stayed in room #4 which sits on the ground level right next to a linen/ storage of the sort. As well as right in front of the main lobby/ pub entrance. We could hear people going in and out of the storage room all day and into the evening. The room was small and the walls are thin. Unfortunately this kept our dogs barking constantly. As they thought someone was trying to come into our room. They usually aren't barkers but because of the location (high traffic area) of the room it was impossible. The shower head leaked so bad when we checked in the bathroom floor had a puddle. It appeared they had tried to flip the shower head upside down to kept the dripping at minimum. The shower door didn't seal so it puddled. The next morning the towel I had put down was completely drenched. Our mini fridge, freezer had been turned off before we checked in and also created a puddle in front of entry way. Easy clean ups so we didn't bother to say anything. On a positive note the staff was friendly, the food in the pub was exceptional. read more

Don't go to this motel if you are expecting extra amenities. It is very simple with the basic necessities for a comfortable stay. Actually, I was impressed with the comfort of the beds and the customer service. They are very accommodating and friendly, and the service was professional. The rooms are small, and if you want the extras like hair dryers and an in-room coffee maker, you will need to request them; but the rooms are clean and close to galleries, cafes and the boats if you are spending the day on a fishing excursion. We didn't have a chance to try the bistro upstairs, but we heard they have delicious food. Next time! :-) read more

i ventured to ilwaco during the week vs w'end & just outside the busy ocean season & got this room for a lower than usual price. it's comfortable/clean/convenient enough for a small hotel in a small town. interior is upgraded which gives it that 'not so ocean-like hotel feel' that a lot of those small places have--like rust & a damp feel. there is a bit of that in the bathroom but it was clean which i'll take over all else in a bathroom. i like minimalist and appreciated that they were trying to save on making up your room on a daily basis unless you request it. the walls are paper thin so if you have a neighbor, i hope you brought your ear plugs. it's as if they are in your room, along with all the surrounding plumbing ruckus. there was a small frig and coffee tray with coffee & tea which is always nice--the basics. would i go again? i would if i could get another online deal otherwise i'd probably just choose one of the other places around that seem like they would be comfortable enough, as is SALT. read more

Finally, a first class hotel in Ilwaco. Ilwaco has some great fishing, but until now, the hotels left a lot to be desired. Salt is right on the water in the port. There is no better location. The owners took the old building down to the studs and put in a new, modern, and hip hotel. The rooms are 100% new- new flooring, walls, bathrooms, etc.. They did a fantastic job on the build out. You will not be disappointed if you stay at the Salt Hotel. read more

My husband and I REALLY wanted to love this place. We love Ilwaco and was so excited to stay here. Unfortunately we were more than disapointed and will not be staying here again. The staff is VERY friendly so, to have a not to great stay, was sad. The outside looks great, they did a really nice job with the paint and plants. The rooms are nice as well with the following exceptions: -There's no where to put your "stuff" - there were 2 luggage racks which was fine, but no where to put clothes in the room or toiletries in the bathroom. The shelf under the mirror in the bathroom barely held the water glass they gave, let alone any hair/body products and definately not hair brushes/combs and my hair dryer. So most of my bathroom "stuff" ended up staying in it's bag on the floor, or sitting on top of my suitcase. -The shower was very small. Don't even think of trying to shave your legs ladies. -The two "night stands" next to the bed are actually chairs so you get to pick, do you want to sit or put your phone/clock/cpap machine/etc. there? -No alarm clock is provided - so if you're taking an early charter boat - you need to bring your own. -The shower temperature fluctuated whenever someone else in the hotel used water so we were constantly having to turn the temp up/down during our short showers. I didn't expect this from a newly remodled hotel. -There seems to be NO insulation in the rooms. We could hear EVERYTHING going on in the surrounding rooms - what they were doing in the bathroom, conversations, even their snoring at night. Not to mention, becuase there is no smoking IN the rooms, they've put out tables and chairs for smokers to utilize (nice for them, not us). Our experience with that was this - when someone was smoking outside (right outside our room becuase of the table/chairs) our room filled with thier smoke smell. Our windows and doors were shut as well as the curtains (I checked multiple times), yet it was so bad, they may as well have been smoking inside our room. Also, because of the lack of insulation, their conversations were very bothersome, they might have well been inside our room it was so loud. There was a couple who were up smoking and talking/coughing multiple times during the night and at 4:18am, then again at 6:00am, which woke us up every time. They continued this and didn't go back into their room once they were up at 6. We let our frustration be known to the couple (very politely), but they were sitting in the provided smoking area and didn't care. We finally got tired of it and left to check out at 8:30-9:00am. -There is no refrigerator/microwave/coffee maker in the rooms. I can honestly say, I've never stayed at a hotel that didn't have at least a small refrigerator (even hotels half the price of this one) to at least house drinks and such. I really don't like writing a bad review as the staff was super nice and friendly and we love supporting small family owned businesses, however, the stay was so unpleasant I feel it's necessary. Plus, my husband likes to come down and take charter boat fishing trips as well as fish off the jetty - he said he has no idea where he'd put all his gear if he stayed at this hotel and he'd feel really bad if he got sand/water all over their pretty new flooring, which shouldn't be a concern of a guest staying in a fishing town! If Salt was the only hotel with vacancy next time we were in town - we'd choose to stay in a tent and get the same experience, for far cheaper. I'm very sorry Salt owners - your establishment is very beautiful, just not practical or enjoyable. When your bar opens, we'll probably check that out, but that's it. read more

Clean and simple and budget friendly. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. Will be coming back for sure.

I have stayed at the Salt several times, and it is exactly what I was looking for. Centrally located in the port of Ilwaco, it is perfect place to stay if you are headed out fishing the next day. This place is super cute! I came with my 2 kids. Our room had 2 sets of bunk beds, they loved it. They played loud-ish music in the courtyard and I had to call at 9:45 pm to ask them to turn it off. They were friendly and did. I felt like a party pooper, but my daughter (10) was crying because she couldn't sleep and my son (3) wouldn't stop dancing. Haha. With that being said, there is a pub upstairs and the lights/music in the courtyard added to a very cool ambiance. Will probably return for a girls weekend or romantic couples get away and leave the kids at home! read more

The good part is the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. I was initially given an upstairs room but needed a lower level which they accommodated. They are pet friendly for $20 one time fee. The rooms are quaint and just enough room. They have a microwave and mini fridge. There are only a couple rooms with the view of the dock, which luckily I had one. The not so good...the only reason I chose this hotel was the restaurant and pub onsite. When we got there, discovered the pub and restaurant are only open Thursday through Sunday. Was really bummed out as nowhere on the site or anywhere else did it state this, and my stay was Monday and Tuesday. Closest place for food and drinks was few miles down the road in Long Beach. The room and bathroom are clean with exception of the floor, don't recommend walking without socks or shoes. I did for a bit and bottoms of my feet were filthy. I used a piece of tissue with water on the floor in various spots and the tissue was black. The noise from other units is loud, walls and ceilings seem thin. If you are a light sleeper I'd recommend having white noise or a fan. I slept with the TV on to drown the noise out. read more

It was very minimal yet an amazing experience. The environment was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms included just enough nothing extra or over the top. Long Beach is an extremely short distance away and easy to find. It was a tad bit loud in the early morning and late night but this was likely due to the Saturday market that was being set up ( which was so cute and fun). Overall if you are looking for a fun simple place to stay I highly recommend The Salt Hotel. read more

Lunch today was an unpleasant experience. My friend and I ordered Cioppino, which was one of the specials of the day. Thin bland sauce, scimpy sea food and it was luke warm. The best part of our lunch was our wine and the beer-cheese dip appetizer. The server never returned to our table to ask if we were happy with the food. We even had to go to the counter to pay the tab. So very disappointing, and quite spendy for the food and service!!. read more

I liked the location of the hotel. I had a nice view of the Harbor. The bed was comfortable. I really don't have anything else positive to say. My room was really dirty. There was a big hair clump on the shower floor and cobwebs in a few places. There was no shampoo or conditioner. There are no screens on the windows so mosquitos and flies came in when I had the window open. The renovation is very poorly done. I guess they were going for some kind of industrial minimalist look but all it really amounts to is shoddy construction work. There are paint splatters every where and my bathroom door didn't fit properly so steam filled the room when I showered. There is also an awful high pitched keening noise that kept my nerves on edge. I think it comes from the restaurants fan system-although it could have been coming from the Fish Company next door. The common areas aren't very well maintained either. This is not a hotel but a motel and they should charge accordingly. I wouldn't stay here again. I did not try the restaurant . The menu looked interesting but the entire place is set up with no regular seating- it's all bar stools. This was a nice concept that fell flat in execution. read more

I loved staying in this quaint hotel in Ilwaco. Highlights of the fishing village was walking around the port enjoying the views and visiting the local book store --Time Enough for Books -- plus traveling around the peninsula and enjoying the wonderful Music in the Garden Tour in July. The hotel was still under renovations so I was one of some of their first customers. Friendly owners and a fresh newly remodeled room made the stay wonderful. The bed was fantastic, and I slept comfortably. My only reason for taking one star away is for the lack of a table to sit at. However, I hear tables are in the works, so I look forward to a return visit where I can do my writing and have a take out dinner in my room if I so desire. If you love a quaint little authentic fishing town, with a quaint hotel, I recommend the Salt Hotel. read more

This is a cute hotel in the marina that awesome basic rooms. We were in town for a wedding and many of the grooms family and friends stayed here. They gave us a book of rooms that kept most of us staying together. My husband and I stayed an extra night to see the beautiful area. After some hikes to the light house and surrounding areas we had a late lunch in the hotel pub. My husband had taken some meds too close to each other and half way through the meal felt sick. He stood up and passed out. The hotel staff and owner quickly jumped in . One of the serving staff has EMT training and stayed by my husband and myself until help arrived. I can not thank her enough for what she did. The owner of the hotel made sure my husband was OK....while we were at the hospital and picked us up when we were released. This hotel, may not be the Hilton, but what they do for their guests go over and above. That , to me is much more important that fancy sheets and spas. read more

The destination is always a fun time, but the accommodations this time around are only acceptable. We booked this from a Groupon offer. Living here on the Peninsula years ago we knew what this location was. It has been upgraded, but .... The lobby is in great need of ... everything. The ad gave the impression that the rooms have a view of the port. Not sure about the lower level, but there are only two from the 2nd floor. We have one of those rooms with a great view. The room is clean, but needs some TLC with paint, trim, etc. The bathroom has no counter at all and little room anywhere else. No microwave, and no clock or coffee maker without asking (fine print). There are complementary toiletry items, but in large bottles which I would not use for sanitary reasons. The heater is next to the window and is easily covered over by the drapes. Didn't realize that until we returned from a trip to town to find the drapes were quite warm. They advertise a pub and restaurant, but closed today at 4pm and closed tomorrow (Jan 2nd). On the plus side, the bed is comfy, great view, pleasant check-in, and the price was great for a two day stay. We come here to relax and that we are able to do. read more

Stayed overnight ate at bar. Great food ,nice accommodations and nice folks

I stayed there with my wife and two dogs the last week of June. First the good news. The location was great! Close to Cape Disappointment park and Long Beach attractions. Charter fishing boats right at your finger tips if that's your thing. The bed was VERY comfortable which is a hard thing to find in a hotel. The staff (for the most part) were very friendly and tried to be has accommodating as possible. Also, the shower water pressure was pretty decent. The room was clean and renovated, and the room rate was good for the area. Now, the bad news. We stayed in a sleep-in queen room, and it is SMALL for two people and two dogs. It may not be bad for a few nights, but if you are planning on staying more than three days, you may want to look elsewhere. Since there is a bar on the property, be prepared for NOISE. We tried to drown out the noise by having the TV on, but since we had to have the window open (because of no AC), we were kept up by the loud employees and patrons. We had planned on staying for six nights, but after five, we decided that we had had enough. It was difficult to get them to refund my money for the sixth night. So, all in all, it is a good place for an overnight stay, but if you have a few kids or dogs with you, this might not be the place for you. read more

I've been thinking on this review for quite some time now! We stay here at the end of July. First off, we arrived in the cute town of Ilwaco, WA to visit some family and came across this fresh, updated, quaint, reasonably priced hotel. We were very excited to stay here, especially since our room had a beautiful view of the harbor and a king sized bed. :) When it came to checking in, we, amongst others, were a bit confused about where to go to check in. The entrance to the hotel is also the entrance to a store. We checked in and went up to our second story, view room. It was small but very clean and welcoming! The down comforter with white duvet looked oh so comfortable and the cork floors were incredibly soft! The bathroom was also very new and clean, though a little small. Later that night, when it came to sleeping, our view of the perfect little hotel changed a bit. We walked into our room and it was SO incredibly hot. We searched for some kind of thermostat to turn on the AC but found nothing but a heater. So we went to open the two windows in our room and found that neither windows had screens. This worried us, because we didn't know the area well enough to feel comfortable leaving the windows wide open without a screen because we were sleeping with our 1 year old daughter. The next morning we wake exhausted because we could hardly sleep because of the extreme heat in the room. We were so excited to get outside to the fresh air. First though we hopped into the shower. There was shampoo and conditioner (watery I might add) and no body soap of any kind in the room. Also, when we went to throw my daughters dirty diapers away, we found that there was no trash can in our room either. So we had to pack all of our trash down stairs to the lobby. Another thing that we noticed was there was no coffee pot in the room, and if you have ever been to Ilwaco, WA, coffee can be a bit hard to come by for a visitor. The next night, after asking around about the local crime, we slept with the windows open because we couldn't bear another night of sweating! We did get woken up by some loud folks on the harbor in the middle of the night but slept great besides that! The bed was heavenly comfortable (memory foam, I think) and waking to the harbor was amazing! Overall this cute hotel was very very clean and updated! It just needs a few things here and there to be perfect (body wash, window screens, trash can and maybe even a coffee pot)! I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat! read more
