Below I will show my hair, the examples I shown, and the day it was styled and day after. When I first saw my hair finished I thought the curling hairstyle she finished with was super cute but I couldn't really make out much layers. But I wanted to give myself time to feel for my hair cut. In all honesty after that hair cut my hair looked the same just a bit softer with a bit off the bangs. A tiny bit was cut around the frame but it hides in the rest of my hair so I didn't get the max layers I wanted. My hairstylist was Grace. Super sweet and kind and very talkative. And I haven't touched my hair with an iron in years, so the hair style she did was refreshing. I didn't know how to express wanting more layers after it was already dried and styled and I wasn't facing the mirror till it was done and after watching butterfly haircut videos I didn't really see the same method done to my hair but again it being my first time for layers I wanted to give it patience and I'm no stylist so I couldn't say her technique wasn't going to give the desired layers. I wanted to trust the process. If I decide to go back I will definitely try to be more vocal even if the hair was styled and finished. I'm only here to express my experience. The hair cut was a gift so idk how much was paid but based off the expression it sounded like it was more than what was expressed online which I hope wasn't because I did ask if drying and curling was an extra cost and was told no. We also tipped on card and in cash so hopefully all was priced right on that. Once again this was just my personal experience and I learned through the process what to do the next time I go to a salon. My receipt reflects a premium service labeled "Platinum AF." I paid $650 for what I believed would be master-level platinum blonding. Instead, approximately 70% of my foils were placed by an assistant who graduated cosmetology school in June 2024 and had only been working at the salon for three months. The lead stylist repeatedly stepped away to service other clients. She was not consistently present during application and did not meaningfully evaluate the foils until removal was nearly complete. The assistant also performed all foil removal. Platinum blonding is one of the most technically demanding chemical services in the industry. It requires precision placement, careful saturation, and close monitoring. That did not happen. The final result was objectively poor: * Large orange and yellow hot spots throughout * Uneven processing * The nape of my neck partially unhighlighted on one side * Patchy tonal inconsistency * Noticeable dryness and signs of chemical damage This was not a subtle "slightly off tone." This was visibly uneven, brassy, and inconsistent work -- especially unacceptable at this price point. When I expressed concern immediately in the chair, I was told it was "the lighting" and reassured it was platinum. I was not shown the back of my head before leaving. When I got home, my 14-year-old daughter walked in and said, "Your hair is yellow." I had not said a word to her. The issue was obvious. I returned the next day requesting a partial refund because I did not feel comfortable allowing additional bleach on already compromised hair. I was told refunds are against policy. Charging premium, specialist-level pricing while delegating the majority of a complex platinum service to a newly graduated assistant -- without clear and direct informed consent in the chair -- feels like a deceptive practice. Clients deserve transparency about who is performing a chemical service on their hair. If I am paying for a master blonding specialist, I expect that specialist to perform the work. At $650, there should be a clear transformation and a "wow" moment. Instead, I left with uneven, brassy, partially unprocessed hair and no accountability. Future clients should ask very clearly who will actually be performing their service before agreeing to premium pricing.

Once someone told me the products they used would make my hair healthy and grow longer. $175 of products later and only the stylist was happy with that extra sale. Run Forest! Being hesitant I called Off The Top and spoke with Stacee. I asked about a general price range. Not only did she charge me what she quoted, she did the best color out of all three. She didn't try and sell me extra conditioning treatments or marked up products. She didn't even ask me to write a review after I shared how happy I was with the service. My hair is a gorgeous blonde and I had a fabulous conversation with her. I've had countless compliments From men and women since she did my hair. I love the L'Anza product line and Stacee's color brilliance. The color took less than two hours and I look great. I'm Leary of someone who asks for reviews or who tries to sell me marked up product or extra treatments. The salon is small and has a boutique feel. I enjoyed the other ladies as well. Caden, the woman who did my hair, was essentially slapping the dye on my head, carrying globs of dye from the bowl to my hair, dripping it along the way. And then came the haircut. The worst I've ever had. I planned to take some off the top but after noticing that she had never cut a fade before I told her I didn't want the top cut. I left with a decent color job, and the sides of my head were cut completely different and uneven. It was horrendous. I will not be going back here again. And I do not recommend this particular hair dresser, at the very least, for a men's haircut.

Mine is curly (looks seriously shorter when dry) and she trimmed the dead ends off without making it to short. A feat some higher priced salons fall short on.
