We came in for a treat after lunch. There wasn't a line so we got to try a few flavors before we decided on what we wanted. I liked Jasmine milk tea. The strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper was interestingly good. I like it that they have many limited editions whenever we visit.

Usually love Salt & Straw and we're regulars who stop in often to try their latest flavors. This visit was a real letdown, though -- not because of the ice cream, but because of the customer service. After recently signing up for the rewards app, I was excited to redeem a free waffle cone for a limited-time Salted Caramel Brownie cone, along with my usual order of a "'ice cream flight" and an additional pint. The staff tried (twice) to apply the reward -- via QR code and by looking up my account with my telephone number-- but the system wouldn't take it. Instead of honoring it, I was simply told, "Sorry, it's not working," and was charged $1.65 for the cone anyway. It's not about the money; it's about the principle. For such a small charge (caused by THEIR system), I expected a bit more flexibility and care. Extremely disappointing experience from a place we usually adore.

After eating dinner, we walked around One Paseo and of course, had to stop by Salt and Straw. I tried a couple of their seasonal flavors but decided to have the chocolate gooey brownie. It's a classic flavor of theirs and definitely one of my favorites.

My friend and I stopped by for ice cream after lunch and decided on the lavender honey and salted caramel. Both flavors were yummy! We also got some water and sparkling water to wash down all the sweets. They have some tables with umbrellas outside which is nice to enjoy the sweet treats on a sunny day. Service was friendly and we were able to sample some flavors before we made our choices.

Vegan mint chip and vegan seasonal the great cookie swap flavors

The staff are friendly and ready to help you sample. They also have a split scoop option which is a little more than a single but smaller than a double. The holiday menu has a great vegan option and in general delicious flavor-The Great Cookie Swap I paired it with the classic vegan mint chip. They were perfect together. The Salt & Straw in One Paseo overlooks a decorated area. We went at night and there were lights and some "snow".

My friend told me about their monthly flavors was all vegan in January, so of course I had to check it out. The peanut butter Carmel brittle was delicious!! The pistachio one was actually really good, but I wasn't feeling the banana fosters one. I was excited to see they had one I liked from previous( which maybe a regular) hazelnut cookies n cream. I opted for the hazelnut cc and the pb brittle choices and was able to get half scoops of each to make their 1scoop. The combo was amazing! I was kinda bummed to see a charge for getting 2 half scoops, as I wasn't told they'd be any, Overall, I was still happy with deliciousness of the ice cream and will definitely be back before January is over. The ice cream is interesting. Some of the flavors don't sound like they go together but I tried the tacolate it was pretty good. If you're looking for a choco taco substitute this is not it but it was pretty good. It's very clean and organized. Our cashier was very nice and helpful with letting us know about deals that are going on.

Cinnamon Snicker Doodle ice cream in a pumpkin spice waffle bowl

Salt & Straw always has interesting and bold ice cream flavors. In the spirit of the season, I chose their Snickerdoodle ice cream in a Pumpkin Spice waffle bowl. Perfect combination to satisfy my Halloween cravings. The warm spices and cozy flavors really hit the spot. A special shoutout to Sergio, who was incredibly patient and helpful while I sampled several flavors before making my choice. Great customer service always makes the experience so much better. Still keeping an eye out for the return of the Tacolate. Hoping it makes a comeback soon!

This was some fo the best ice cream flavors I've ever had. They have super duper weird stuff but it tastes so good, so don't judge it by the combo you have to get a sample if you're curious Only complaint is it's a bit too soft for me, I felt like it was a race against melting when It was handed to me in the cone. It was closer to closing so idk maybe something was off but it was way soft for hard serve.

Another fabulous time at Salt and Straw! Tried the Halloween flavors including the Creepy Crawly Critters which has mealworms and crickets in it (wild!) which was surprisingly good, but not enough to eat a whole scoop lol. I ended up getting a split scoop of the Great Candycopia and Jack o'Lantern Pumpkin Bread which went perfectly together. I always love this place for their inventive and weird flavors and I will continue to be a costumer for a long time!

Tacolate from Tacobell

I've always seen Salt & Straw as interesting due to some of their selections of ice cream such as Pear and Blue Cheese, but I really wanted to try the Tacolate when I saw it. Def a good one, doesn't beat the classic Chocotaco (RIP) but it is a good one with a hint of Cinnamon and Chocolate. Reminds me of the Cinnamon Twists from Tacobell. Service here was quick and friendly, plus the space is in an open shopping area that you can just sit and People Watch while you enjoy the ice cream.

Super WEIRD flavors but they're super cool! I got this Strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper which is probably the weirdest flavor I've ever had but it was honestly pretty great! I also had their Olive Oil ice cream which was also super weird but GREAT. It was super firm and rich which I really liked. Definitely come here to try out the really unique flavors. Don't get the ones you would regularly see!! Workers were nice and helped us with all the samples we wanted to try. Also a really nice parlor and location in One Paseo. Definitely worth coming out!

Is the ice cream pasteurized?

Hi Ashley! Great question. The answer is YES, all of our ice creams are pasteurized.

Do you offer dairy free options?

Their cakes may be pricey, but…read morein my opinion, for the amount of work, effort, and quality of ingredients, I think they continue to be fair. For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

Also just so everyone is aware they're also liars just to mention & stupid.. she tells us her name is Karen thinking we don't know the owners name lol .. She was at the register at 7:20pm and was extremely rude and dismissive after we placed our order, especially regarding a child's dietary restrictions and health concerns. We politely asked if it would be possible to purchase a small cup of fruit , even just a couple strawberries cut up, because one child in our group cannot have sweets due to very strict dietary restrictions . Instead of simply saying they were unable to accommodate the request or offering another option, we were told to "go somewhere else," despite already spending the amount we did . The complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly shocking. It's disappointing to be treated that way at a place we have supported so consistently. This place has been going downhill , management for this place needs to step up .

Much to my chagrin, my latest visit has now become my last. Excitedly, I brought my four-legged son to enjoy his first pup cup, but the service and portion sizes were fit for a hobbit at best. One would think that, in such dark times, one could still find even a glimpse of hope in an ice cream cone. I was proven wrong, and my outlook on the current state of affairs only dimmed further. I ate my ice cream in two bites. Twenty dollars for two cones, four bites total. I didn't even bother feeding my son the pup cup. He deserves better. The world deserves better. Bigger portions. Bigger smiles. Makes perfect sense, in my humble opinion. I suppose your employees do not agree.

That interaction really put a damper on things, but we eventually ordered a few scoops and a few cookies. Thought the cookies were spot on again (warm from the oven). The ice cream temperature wasn't quite right - a bit on the melted/soft side. Not quite what we were hoping for this time around.

I thought it was tasty as well as their coffee, however my coffee wasn't filled up all the way. It is strong and their roast is bold! I liked it a lot, although a lunch meal can get costly so it would just be from time to time if I were to revisit. Not only that, but they also have a small selection of gelatos which look pretty authentic like Spumoni! Other desserts I saw were mousse, tiramisu, cannoli, cheesecake, carrot cake, and rugelach.
