I had been kinda jonesin' for some Raisin Bran (since I don't usually watch TV but since I was on vaycay I saw a Raisin Bran commercial and I wanted some) and they had prosaic stuff like that too! Finally, the staff was super helpful and efficient. If I'm ever in Linconville, Maine again (which really isn't very likely) I'd definitely come here again.

I ran out to pick up late night food at 1 AM and returned, only need to find out that I left my room key inside my room. I come to get help and there is no one here. What ensued was me sitting and waiting in the lobby for approximately the last one hour. I'm still here now. In fact, I'm sitting behind the desk watching YouTube on the staff computer while I charge my phone. All phone numbers that are available route to this front desk phone number. I even called the police! Two cars from the Bar Harbor Police Department came here to try and help me, but said that there was nothing they could do. I don't blame them, this is not their fault. So I am still here sitting in an empty lobby waiting endlessly for an employee to hopefully stop in to check on things....

The staff were super friendly. The owners loaned us pots to boil our lobster that were freshly caught by the locals. Enjoyed the sunset. Visited nearby Acadia NP. Still family owned, 1 of only 3 in the area. Our family has decided this is the best place we have ever stayed and we have traveled extensively.

David made us very welcome when we arrived and gave us the orientation talk on the island, giving us a couple of local newspapers and marking down worthwhile sights on the maps before showing us to our 'cottage'. I'd actually describe the cottage as more of a beach hut (we had one of the smaller ones), but it had everything in it and was only a few yards from the water's edge with great views over Salisbury Cove. There was a porch with chairs and table where you could sit and watch the sunset. Very pleasant. Inside, the cottage was scrupulously clean, there is a small kitchen area with stove and coffee maker etc. if you wanted to eat in. It could have done with an electric kettle to make tea with, although you could use the coffee maker to boil water I guess. There's a small heater in the wall that we used a few times as we had a couple of rainy days during our stay. Best of all was the shower - great water pressure and piping hot. A great start to the morning. Followed by a cup of complementary coffee from reception, we were all set to go and explore. So thanks to David and Jayne - we really enjoyed our few days here and would gladly return in future.

They have a little snack bar in the front where you can purchase food for breakfast, lunch and dinner- little easy food so you don't have to go very far. They have cokes, coffee and teas. We loved our little room. Each room was assigned a name instead of a number. It was clean and comfortable. They also had a recreation room which had some weights, bikes, and a pool table with vending machines that you can hang out in. They also accommodated us with a complimentary breakfast. There were bagels, cereal, egg, and ham, which was enough for us to build up energy for our day. I'd def recommend staying here if you're not necessarily looking for a luxury stay, but are still looking for comfort!

The huge room included a patio with a beautiful view of Mt Dessert Narrows and early morning sunsets. I loved the class that went into decorating the room. The real wood furniture, classy light fixtures, yet modern amenities (usb charging ports, key rig, fridge, microwave, etc) really made the room feel upscale yet homey. The room was very clean and I slept very well in that comfy bed! If you have a chance, spend some time in the Great Room listening to Bill Trowell, the pianist who plays most nights. Bring a snack with you, or buy a drink at the bar. Although we didn't have a chance to use them, there was an outdoor pool and a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs that's lit nightly. There's also an indoor pool and fitness center. Next door, is the Looking Glass restaurant which serves a good breakfast with a beautiful view. The only negatives of the hotel (in my opinion) are a few minor things: 1. The rooms use an actual key (not a card). 2. It's kinda far from the walkable area of Bar Harbor. 3. The hot water for the bathtub took forever to heat up, and also get dangerously hot, so use caution!! 4. It seems like (from the other reviews) that the other building, Stenna Nordica, might not have rooms as nice as those in the Mizzentop building, but I don't know for sure since I didn't have a chance to see those rooms. So to be safe, book a mizzentop room. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you're ok with staying a few minutes outside of town, and enjoy beautiful views of the water from the comfort of your own private porch.
