What a find!!! I have to mention the amount of flavors bursting forth before anything else. 1st bite- we were sold. Never said this B4 in a review - these tacos could not have been any better, in any way, than they were here. Juicy and tender, we tried 5 types, the beef birria, goat birria, chicken tinga, chicken+chorizo, and beef tinga. All equally great. Then Sopas chicken tinga, beer birria So fabulous too. Loved every single bite. Small place, very casual with several inside tables, more outside. Sat down for some,carryout for more. Carryout was well packaged- self serve some of the 3 sauces to go to try. Green is avocado/tomatillo mix, red is hotter/sharper, orange (kickin/creamy) good. Decent sized menu but not trying to do everything- smart move. Because everything they do they do extremely well. Before we even left, I said "If we lived here , I'd be coming here almost every week". It's that good. We're both retired chefs and cook at home constantly, but this was something special. Still, we all have to eat at some point. So when dinner rolled around on these two dates, I wanted something for Bunny and I. The Pupusa Mana is a quiet place, but can become crowed with 9 tables for 4 people and one table for 2. The bar I believe holds 8 more people. If you are into karaoke, It looks like this place can accommodate you and your party or parties. Speaking in the native language is preferred, but if you don't speak a word of Spanish, someone can speak in English to you. I like the cheese pupusas and my wife likes the Queso con loroco. Loroco is also known as Fernaldia pandurata. This food is popular in El Salvador and Guatemala; as well, as other places. I have had the loroco pupusas and it is good...no, great. Yet, I don't wish to over do it on a great thing. Anyhow, I will be sure to visit this place again. I know I didn't screw up ordering the Queso con loroco in Spanish second time around. The roasted potatoes were also well seasoned but because they were pre-cooked and reheated, they had the consistency of leftovers from last night that were reheated in the microwave. Finally, the piece of flatbread on the bottom seemed to be I heated and right off the shelf at the grocery store. That or perhaps it was just stale? Either way I wasn't impressed. The Turkish coffee was hot and tasty while I waited, and a gorgeous Turkish delight and baklava rounded out the experience. I can't wait to try the doner wrap and the rest of the menu. We had just eaten at The Orginal Pancake so eating a full meal was out of the question. However, this did not stop us from getting a drink and buying a dessert. I tried the Green Lemonade and it was delicious. I know I will have get one of my own next time. The food served here is a Mediterranean Style and the own ruled this restaurant with a friendly fist. I saw this is not her only restaurant, but one of many. Some of the photos I saw are of rewards she has achieved for excellent quality and service. Something I will be looking forward to seeing when we eat here on empty stomachs next time. During the time we were there, I liked what I saw. The taste of that Green Lemonade is still on my mind at 1:39AM on an early Monday morning. Something will have to be done about that...
