Best pizza in the area. Small place but there are a number of tables and booths if you want to eat there. They have large slices (yes slices as pizza should be cut) with anything from traditional pepperoni to the more unique mac and cheese pizza. The garlic knots are also very good too. The people working there have always been friendly and accommodating to what we may need. read more

The food is so good! The service is spectacular. At first I only ordered their pizza's. Later I thought I would be adventurous and try their spaghetti. Holy guacamole, it was better than mine!!! Don't get food from here unless you want Covid! I ordered food from them, but when I went to pick it up none of the cooks making the food we're wearing masks or gloves. They also weren't enforcing customers to wear masks either. read more

I was sure I reviewed this place a few years ago and gave it high marks. But my old review is gone. Isn't that odd. I came back here to update my last review because a recent visit to Sal's was less than satisfying. Basically what once was a pretty good pizza here was just so so. They have a good crust but the pizza wasn't very flavorful and didn't have the quantity and size of toppings I would like. The garlic knots didn't have any garlic taste that I could notice. It was like eating plain bread dunked in bland tasting tomato sauce. So another decent pizza place has lowered their ingredient quality and become like so many other pizza places before them. read more

Not sure what to think of this place. I ordered online, then went over to the restaurant. I told them I ordered online and everyone was kind of just standing around and I didn't see any computers around, so I wasn't sure how they were going to see what I ordered (I now learned from the other reviewer on here that the order is faxed to them from the web site...how odd!). They found my order and said it would be about 10 minutes. I ordered some hot wings with dipping sauce and an antipasto salad. This place is small and there really isn't any good waiting area, which seems odd for a take out place. Has 2 rows of booths on 2 walls and the front door. Anyways, I got the stuff and it was just...average. The salad was stuffed with all kinds of stuff and the dressing was just kind of weird...dark oil based vinaigrette? Everyone just seemed a bit discombobulated there, like the guy asking the cashier if she swiped my credit card and I was like "whoa, I paid online! don't swipe anything!" This place is pretty much dump nothing about Italian here the pizza looked like it was bought at a cheap pizza place like 7 eleven don't waste you're money here. I have to confess that I am addicted to Sal's Pizza. Every time I am in town I make an excuse to stop by. The pizza is great, and me and my husband can eat a full meal for $7.50. This place is FANTASTIC. Sal's has got to be Hartfords best kept secret, because I am always looking for a place that has great pizza and I didn't even know it was there until recently. Now I can't get enough the place ----I dream about it!!!! I have tried several of the different varieties of pizza and it's my goal to try them all. Still, I couldn't even tell you which one I liked the best ---- they were all excellent!!!! I keep wanting to try their pasta dishes, but I haven't been able to direct myself away from the pizza yet. I am a Sal's addict. I went to Taco Bell for lunch and the line was so long I saw Sal's in the back round and remembered I heard they sold pizza by the slice. Promptly drove over and have been back every week since. A slice for $3, can't be beat!!! I talked to the owner, I presumed, while I waited and he was very personable. Service has been great every time since. If I lived up here I would be so fat. Will miss them when I quit my job and will no longer be in the area but when I do I know where I will be eating!!!! read more

Order online for delivery. Took about an hour as they did say. Pizza was average. The sauce was too watery. And the pizza was so greasy.

Really good pizza, really bad service! They forgot half our order and we stood in front of them for 10 minutes before they even acknowledged me. Then waited another 10 minutes to get our pizza which they were out of after they forgot it to begin with. I'd get take out only. Staff was horrible. read more
