Haha - what a grumpy, previous review…read more We are members here and absolutely love it. Excellent service and the wines are nice. We love the live music Sundays

Service - we have been here about 4-5 times, but service has never been too great or too friendly. The bar on the beer side is always pleasant but the tasting bar side always has a bit of a tiny rude vibe - and I don't mention it ever but I'm in the wine industry and we don't see this normally. Also tonight we were asked to move to a different table as they didn't prepare for a Harry Potter event ahead of time just as we settled in after a rough day (and our young pup finally chilled out). It felt we were being pushed out and the other table was by the window/door that was glass so I was cold. My senior mom was cold after we had found a great spot that was warm for her. Live music tonight was also quite off - I wouldn't suggest this place anymore. I'm not sure if in the last year it has gone down hill but it's no longer worth the drive for a mediocre experience. They gave many potential beautiful spaces but they don't utilize them, nor update them, so the vibe is just outdated. No music on the speakers can be heard when there isn't live music. So sorry to not write the best review here but it's honest.

We went in for brunch on Sunday and it was a very nice place. There is a very nice area to sit…read moreoutside that is covered by gorgeous trees. Inside is nicely decorated. The service was great. We walked in knowing what we are going to order. We ordered the Monte Kristeaux. It was good but we weren't blown away by it. We thought it would be more of a sandwich that you can hold in your hand but the blueberries and egg were on the outside. I think the blueberry compote should have been pieces and a little more squished. They were round blueberries that kept rolling around. Taste was it was good. The chicken fried steak biscuits were superb. The chicken fried steak was fried to perfection and we loved the crispy flakiness on the outside. Loved the bacon pieces on top of the gravy. It's a must order. The potatoes were ok. A bit cold when we received it. However, the sweet potato fries were sooo good. Probably the best I've had ever. Loved them and will be thinking about them. The chocolate chip bread pudding was really good but for $13 for that slice we might pass on that next time. Overall, we loved our brunch date and it was a great first time there at Palmers.

You'll experience the inviting ambience we've enjoyed the minute you step along the courtyard then encounter welcoming and accommodating hostesses. You'll discover the same unique, rich, warm interior we discovered; an elegance to be appreciated, which bows to unpretentious Texas hospitality. You'll again be greeted by a helpful, charming, engaging waitperson. Our latest waitperson was Sami, a delightful young lady who tended to us as if we were her only table. You'll discover a menu with great selections with Chef Monty's personal flair and reasonably priced. If he can free himself, you'll most likely meet Monty, both owner and chef. It's hard to imagine a nicer guy unless it's Kyle, the manager! Palmer's atmosphere is suitable for casual conversation over a meal, for Sunday brunch, an anniversary, or a romantic date night. One of our favorite activities is evenings in the courtyard with wine and appetizers. Also, it's difficult to resist their desserts, by the way! Reservations are accepted on a limited basis, but "call ahead" is always available. There, I've said it. Against my better judgement, you now what I you know. The rest is up to you.

We drove two hours through interstate and toll road rush hour traffic for a hospital test at 5 PM…read more Ahead of time we had searched Yelp for a place to dine afterwards while letting rush hour traffic abate for our return trip. Taste on Main was best rated and the menu sounded intriguing. We arrived 45 minutes early, and the Maître D' graciously found us a table even though we expressed our willingness to wait. Our server knew the menu well, and the food flowed with perfect timing. The ambiance of a remodelled historic building with modern functionality was both relaxing and refreshing. We were especially pleased with our four telephone calls before hand to the manager about seating if it rained, reservations, and parking. Emily answered each call and was so helpful, and it is a nice touch that the manager interacts directly with the patrons. Each food item was excellent: 1) Mixed Greens Salad (mixed greens, seasonal fruit, candied pecans, manchego cheese, crispy shallots, red wine vinaigrette); 2) Cioppino (clams, mussels, shrimp, fish, calamari, arrabiata-fish brodo, foccacia); 3) 5 oz MTX Petite Filet; 4) Dulce De Leche Crème Brûlée (caramelized dulce de leche base topped with a crackly, burnt sugar shell)

And I paid $250 FOR THE WORST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD! Place was cool. People were nice. But very unorganized. All the food was . Bland. Undercooked. Disappointing. Drinks were so bad. Old fashioned was the worst I have ever had. the worst. Wine was no better than 2 buck chuck. Basically tasted like old fermented juice. Let's go item by item shall we. Calamari - so bland and chewy. Supporting sauces were underwhelming. Tuna tartare - bitter. Sour. Flavorless. The buttered bread that came with it was the best part and didn't even go well. Try a cracker. Cesar salad - why in the hell would you put salt and vinegar potato chips in this. SERIOUSLY. Red snapper - chewy and over cooked. Steak filet - soooooooo bland. Brussels sprouts - oddly ok. Just a little undercooked. Potato's - the most UNDERCOOKED thing I have ever seen. It was like a blind grandma who smoked all her life tried to peel and cook potatoes while tossing cheese on it. No joke we could not get out of there quick enough. Literally pulled through a drive through right after and spent 15$ on tacos and had a much better meal. DO BETTER.
