Love, love, love Fariba ~ started seeing her a few years ago when she was at Magic Scissors. I had been to SO many colorists and come out looking like someone else. I would bring in photos of my hair BG (before grey) and asked them to match it and never had anyone gotten close. If you've ever had that experience and had to live with a color you hated, you'll understand. From the first appointment she "got" my color and I walked out feeling like a million-bucks ~ so confident & happy. Fariba has given me the Keratin extensions two times now. my natural hair is a little bit above my chest and she made my hair dreams come true. I try to go every six months and the extensions do not make my real hair fall out, they have some sort of protein that binds to the natural hair. I love them and everyone thinks this is my real hair. :) I highly recommend these for people who are active, want to go in the water, and still have their hair look nice. they are not that difficult to maintain. read more

I originally found Fariba through eyebrows. An acquaintance had slight reddening around PERFECTLY tailored eyebrows. I knew I had to meet the person responsible. After a couple of years living in this area and lots of time and money wasted I still had not found a stylist who I really trusted with my very; long, fine, color-treated hair. The result of my dismay was that my hair was a wreck. As with any first time with a stylist I was nervous (great eyebrows are one thing, but hair color something else entirely). I left completely happy! I have been traveling from Alexandria to Great Falls to have my hair done by Fariba for a couple of years now, and the experience I have had in her hands has been worth every minute spent waiting in DC traffic. She is an extremely talented colorist, and does a fantastic job on cuts as well. I am slightly neurotic about my hair, and I trust her completely. It is such a delight to go in and relax knowing I will emerge looking as great as possible and not in debt by a small fortune. In addition to hair I have had the waxing and threading services done, to complete satisfaction with both (though I prefer waxing in general). Now, Vivan, it is absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere is confident and welcoming. It is open and spacious and the lounge full of light. The chairs and couches are very comfortable and it is replete with great reading material. There is a beautiful and operational fireplace and lots of plants. I have never been to an appointment and not been offered a coffee or tea. It is really a complete delight. read more
