I went in to see Mary after meeting a girl at the grocery store, and asking her who did her amazing haircut. I got a really bad haircut a couple months ago... the kind you have to wear your hair up all the time. I was apprehensive to get another cut because even after several months of growing some of the issues remained. It was really easy to explain to Mary the things about my cut before that I didn't like, and what I wanted my hair to look like/do. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great stylist! I went to Salon Unique for the first time this week. I loved it! I walked out with the best haircut I've ever had. The establishment is clean, well decorated, and not too loud, even with the hair dryers and chatter. It's very pleasant and has a good salon atmosphere. I recommend Mary-- she is the best! I came to Salon Unique after a bad experience at the Salon at Ulta. I called and spoke with Brittany right after my first hair cut, and she was able to schedule an appointment for me the next morning. After speaking with Brittany about what crazy things were done to my hair the day before, it was obvious that she knew what she was doing. She was able to correct my hair cut into something that I could be happy with. While at Salon Unique, I could tell that all of the stylists took a personal interest in their clients (more importantly - they listen to what they are asking for). Note for anyone moving to a new city: Take the time to find a credible salon, and don't go off your previous experience with a chain salon unless you are referred by someone you know (or your friends on Yelp, of course). read more

The first time I went to this salon was the first time I ever went to get my hair colored and I was on my own. I was about 16 and I didn't know what to expect. The lady that did my hair knew that I was a bit clueless and nervous. Instead of trying to reassure me, she took advantage of me. I was severely overcharged and the color faded extremely fast and I was not given any instructions as to taking care of the color. It took me awhile to even work up the nerve to go back to give it a second chance, but when I did go back a few years later, their doors were locked to customers during business hours and no one would open them and there was no explanation posted as to why the doors were locked, especially when it was clear that they were open and serving people inside. Never going back again and I'm advising others to avoid it as well. read more

I FINALLY talked my husband into leaving his 142 year old barber. I could always tell whether they'd have a good conversation based on how short my husbands hair was. Military cut? Must have been a good conversation that day! My husband loves this place. The stylists are experienced and have wonderful personalities. So friendly. We have four boys and we take them here as well. They give consistently good haircuts. Pricing is very good for the service. read more

I went in after bad experience at another local salon. I'm new to the area and i explained that the prior salon messed my hair up. My natural color is dark brown/black. I neede my roots touched up. I explained that I like my hair to be medium reddish brown but that the other salon ( even though I told them not to) put medium brown dye on my hair which always turns my hair dark brown. I then had highlights put in to offset the dark brown color. My stylist at this salon asked a million questions but I still wasnt sure, in retrospect, that she understood what I wanted. I thought I was clear, highlights that were in were ok just no goth looking dark brown color. Reddish brown was good. She took forever in the back room to get my dye prepared. That should have been a sign of what was to come. I walked out ash blond. I have NEVER desired to be ash blond and definitely did not ask for that at that appointment. The stylist also asked if I ever style my hair straight, my hair is naturally curly. I said rarely but I almost always leave it curly. She promptly blow dried it and straightened it out. She did a good job but did not do one thing that I had requested. I promptly left and went to the store and bought a home dye kit and re-dyed it myself. $120 wasted. I knew it looked bad when my 14 year old daughter, who was with me at the appointment, gave me this very strange look like " what the heck happened to my mom". read more

I recently moved to Burleson and have been disappointed with the few salons that I tried. That is until yesterday when I had to cancel my appointment in Dallas and was pretty desperate to get my hair color corrected. I read salon reviews and was lucky enough to get in the same afternoon with Anna. My experience coukd not t have been Better. Anna LISTENED to what I wanted and executed it perfectly! She was a delight in all areas as she also got the color AND the cut perfect. . i highly recommend this salon. Anna now has a new client and maybe two. Went in to have my hair and layers cleaned up with a trim. A girl named Ashley, went thru my hair with thinning shears and completely changed the texture. I have always had long thick hair that was smooth and easy to curl, straighten.. etc.. since having this done my hair is uneven, and almost ragged on the edges. what makes it worse is that it's nothing like how it used to look or feel. Going to start the long process of growing it out and having it trimmed slowly to fix what was messed up. read more
