I went in for my second appointment with HANNUM which was booked for highlights OR lowlights depending on hair integrity. I got there and could immediately tell she was rushed. She she had roughly told me she did not have time to do either highlights or the lights and I would have to come back. I reminded of her by our previous conversation and told her I booked for one of those services plus the deep conditioning. She basically said too bad she didn't have time but she could do a touch-up in a glaze. Being that it was the day before my birthday and I have plans, I reluctantly agreed. I went in for root touch up and a few highlights. I can't believe this is what I was charged. Would not recommend. I didn't even get any hair cut. (I didn't want a cut but had I known they were going to charge me for one....) The "style" was blow drying my hair so I didn't walk out with a head of wet hair, no curls or anything. Also I could buy bottles of Olaplex for that price. Then I get home and pull back my hair and my highlights don't even reach all the way down to the roots, parts of my hair look like a zebra! So overpriced. For this amount I should have had amazing hair and I do not. read more

I desperately needed to get my haircut, basically fix a botched job from a couple of days ago at another salon. I sent a request Friday night hoping I could get in and luckily they were able to accommodate me. Kayla W. was assigned to be my stylist. She did an amazing job. She asked questions and talked to me throughout the whole process to ensure I was getting what I was wanting. I REALLY appreciated the communication and how she didn't rush. She was a little conservative with the layering, it's not as obvious as I had pictured it being but I didn't know how it would look until the highlights were done the next day, otherwise I would have asked for more at the time. I really appreciate the customer service I received when I got a bad haircut there. First I wasn't charged for the bad haircut and second they had another I guess more experienced haircutter try to fix it. Unfortunately, it will need to grow in order to be fixed at a future date. I believe this is a good salon, but if you have a unique hair, mine is really thick, be careful who you choose. I really wish haircutters would be honest if their skills don't come close to being able to replicate a style you choose. Oh the woes of finding a new hairstylist. I've been searching for several years to find a stylist that is competent and friendly without charging an arm and a leg for a haircut and style. I found a great deal on Groupon for this location and decided to try it based on the good reviews. I was able to make an appointment within 24 hours of calling and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. I walked in for my appointment and was surprised that the place was nearly empty before new years. I figured many people would be getting their hair done, but it was rather quiet, so I wondered if the place wasn't as good as everyone said. I waited a couple of minutes for Chastity and then she took me back. She was easy to talk to- no forced conversation and pretending to care. She washed my hair twice, gave me a little scalp massage with conditioner and then did the deep conditioning treatment. After that, we moved to the chair. I really didn't have a very clear idea of what I wanted, but Chastity helped clarify. She has many years of experience as a hair dresser and she did a great job adding layers and cutting away dead ends. While I wasn't a fan of how my hair was diffused (I have curly hair and it looked frizzy), after I showered, I was very pleased with the haircut. There was a deal that if I booked my next two hair appointments the same day, I would get a free deep conditioning treatment next time ($20 value) and it would be only $10 the time after that. Considering the amount of conditioning curly hair needs, I considered it a great deal and went ahead and booked with Chastity again. Haircuts with her are $43, which is reasonably priced. Salon Dexterity even goes the extra mile and after a couple weeks after my appointment, Chastity sent me a card in the mail to make sure I was still loving my haircut and to give feedback. I was a new client walk in last week. I accepted an appointment with a new stylist just out of training. Understanding there is a learning curve, I left that day not happy with my results. I also had sticker shock as I received some services I hadnt realized I had or would be charged for. I reached out to the salon and immediately the owner began to make things better. She got me rescheduled with an experienced stylist and refunded me for the non requested services. After this appointment, I am sold on SDX. My hair looks amazing and I already booked my next appointment. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate the customer service and how welcoming the entire team was. I went to this salon for the first time the other day and got my hair cut and colored by Jacqui. She did an awesome job and was so knowledgable. Before we started she asked me many questions to ensure that she understood exactly how I wanted my hair to look and even did a price breakdown for me before the appointment begun. I really enjoyed this because every other hair salon I've been to, it's always a big mystery of how much the bill will be at the end. Jacqui was so sweet and easy to talk to and my hair turned out exactly how I imagined! Her social media pages gave me a great indication of the types of hair she has worked on in the past and made me confident she could make my hair look good, which was important since this is the last haircut/color before my wedding. As for the salon, it was clean and the stylists were so friendly. I don't know if this is just me, but I feel like so many times when I go to a salon, the stylists often times talk to each other and don't try to include you in the conversation which is awkward because you're literally just sitting there doing nothing for multiple hours. This was NOT the case with this salon. I felt so included and everyone was so friendly and knowledgable about their jobs. I was so nervous going to get my hair cut I had been growing it out for three years and my mom had been trimming my hair those three years and my hair is curly. Amanda was so wonderful she knew how to cut curly hair and we talked about what I wanted to do with and that was to give my hair one last big chop before continuing growing it out with layers as well. And she understood that when curly hair cut wet will shrink when dry. She did a beautiful job I'm in love with my hair and my husband even loves it. Went in for full highlight, no low lights and hair is now brown with red undertones. Toner was completely wrong color. They tried to fix it which was very nice but now the color almost looks grey and my hair is brown. I wear my hair back most of the time so want my face blonde, after the toner again it is brown. I don't even know how to fix this. Wasted 6 hours of time and over fifty foils for brown hair?! How do you book a full highlight and leave with brown hair? Spent $360. Don't even want to deal with a refund bc I have been so upset. For the record I have never ever posted a review I'm just too upset about this.I will never go here again. I had an appointment for an all over highlight- Amanda said instead she was going to used a balayage technique because it would "look more natural". When she was washing my hair she said ( this is going to cost a little more) and I said it was okay ( i didn't realize how much more) and I asked how my hair looked and she said it was "okay"- I could tell in her voice that it wasn't okay When I saw my hair wet I was immediately unhappy at how orange it was. She washed it and dried it and then highlighted it again- it still looked orange- right in the front of my hair - I had to be at work at 6pm which I told Amanda and it was 6pm ( I had been there for 4 hours at this point) - so she toned it and then put purple shampoo on my hair but apparently it wasn't fixable that night so she let me leave ( at 7pm) with brassy orange hair and asked me to come in the next day- . As I got in my car i burst into tears- I was mad and sad and mad at myself for trusting this girl that was overconfident in her own skills and disappointment because I could've just turned my own hair orange with a blond box dye. The next day I was hesitant to go back but I did and Amanda said she didn't think I'd be coming back- I had high hopes that she could fix my hair so my spirits were better. She toned my hair- dried it- it looked slightly better but it was orange- she did it again- dried it and it was STILL orange and she said "can you live with it like this for a few weeks" and I said no- so she reluctantly toned it again. This time I was happy that the orange was practically gone and I was ready to go- she charged me for all of the times that she toned it ( to fix it) the highlight that she was supposed to do ( but didn't ) and a $50 haircut that didn't happen- that charge was for washing the toner out of my hair- I paid for it but I was thinking about it for a few weeks- she charged me $200 for "her time" and then said next time I came in she'd do a face frame highlight that she said she should've just done from the beginning and that will lighten it up. I set up an appointment to go back ( against the advice of friends - I never should've gone back) but the toner faded and my hair looked like dark roots- and I wasnt happy but Amanda said this might happen so I hoped the highlight would finally get it right. When I went back she did a face frame highlight- but again she toned it and it was dull subtle highlight. I paid again and was again surprised that she over charged me since she was still trying to fix the first problem- and said it would be $20 less then what I was told to pay - I paid and tipped her both times even though most people wouldn't have. When I got home that night ( after she collected my money) I got a call from the owner Ann saying that I shouldn't come back in there because this was not the right place for me. She defended my orange hair and said that it "just happens" and since that happened to me I probably wasn't happy and shouldn't come in- I was shocked because I paid for her to mess up my hair and then paid again to try and fix it/ that they took my money and then asked me not to come back in because they ruined it? I was shocked at the lack of customer service I received and that again, my poor experience was defended by the owner- who refused to even empathize and said I deserved to pay for all the mess ups/ because "I had received a service". At that point I hadn't written a review but I felt obligated to tell about this experience because it was crazy- While in there I saw a stylist make another girl cry by cutting her hair shorter then she expected - and based on the reviews it seems like other people weren't happy either-I wish I would've read the reviews before I went it- because my hair still doesn't look right -hopefully telling my experience will save someone the time and money that I wasted in this "salon" read more

Definitely not the place to go if you want a hair style that is remotely in style- It's overpriced and they specialize in hairstyle for retired women- and when I say specialize I mean they can wash and trim short hair basically just an overpriced Supercuts but with less talent I stopped by because of the "4+stars" but I'm positive they're written by employees because the girls aren't friendly and when I showed a few different styles from a magazine they didn't know how to do it-and when I saw the clientele that did come in it all made sense. I wanted to change up my hair for my new job - a little lighter and cut in a long bob- the stylist I got was supposedly the most experienced but she gave me a blunt cut ( chopped about 4 inches) and "lowlights" - that were so minimal you'd have to squint your eyes to see if they existed- to say I was disappointed would be an understatement - all of this wouldn't have mattered so much if the "salon experience" were a little better-I don't get to do things like this very much but the energy is cold and lifeless- kind of sad- and I didn't feel pretty When it was time to pay I was shocked because I was charged as if I was at a high end salon-- this is anything but! My experience at this salon was a DISASTER!!! If you're looking to try a new salon this is not the place! I should of know that it was going to be a disaster when I called for an appointment and they had an opening the same day! I went in blond and said I wanted to touch up my roots and just to have my hair a bit BLONDER, I purchased a groupon for 70$ that includes full highlights, hair cut and conditioning! When I came in she said it's going to be extra 20$ for more foil because apparently my hair was fuller than normal and extra 20$ for a toner! So yea not 70$. Denise added a toner when I told her in the beginning that I do not want a toner! My hair turned out BROWN I instantly started to cry when I saw my hair! I was literally bawling like a baby! She did the exact opposite of what I asked her to do! She said "it will get lighter once I blow dry it". I've been blond my entire life, I know what wet blond hair looks like! She didn't even know how to properly dry my hair! I usually never write reviews, unless I'm HIGHLY DISSATISFIED! Just a disaster experience overall! They offered for me to come in a week later to "redo the toner" but why would I let the person that ruined my hair to touch it again! I had a very odd experience here, but the brief version is this: Ashley was awkward, sold herself out of my business, and expects to be paid $94 an hour. The long version is this: I called and made an appointment for 2:30pm. I had never been there before so I didn't ask for a specific stylist. I showed up early and waited until 10 minutes past my appointment time. Ashley came out and greeted me. She was nice, but conversation did not flow naturally; there were awkward pauses where she just looked at me blankly and she was awkward in general. I sat down in her chair, and I told her about my hair and a rough idea of what I wanted. After talking for a few minutes she summarized and repeated back to me what I wanted, which was a good thing, it let me know she understood. Then she said my haircut will be $47. I said "Oh, ok. That's more than what I was expecting but that's ok." I was glad she told me what it would cost before doing it, that was a good thing. However, what I wanted was extremely simple and would not take more than 30 min MAX with a shampoo. I don't know if that is the going rate for a haircut these days, but that equates to almost $100 an hour and that is ridiculous. I was willing to pay it to avoid having to find a different place all over again. She asked me if I was sure, because there are other stylists there who "charge less because they haven't been doing hair as long." So I uncomfortably asked if there was anyone available right now because, you know, I made an appointment and I was expecting to get my hair done... She quickly glanced over her shoulder and said no, but I could make another appointment with someone else for a different time. I once again uncomfortably had to say no, not right now, and pretended I would call to reschedule. She gave me her card and ended with saying, "But I'd love to do your hair!" as I left. I have never had an experience like that before where I consulted with someone and left without actually getting the haircut. I was a bit ticked off and made an appointment at a different salon and got a great haircut for a lot less. Aside from that weird situation, the salon is clean and new, the girl at the desk was friendly, and making the appointment was easy. They were able to get me in the same day, which is a plus. I didn't end up getting my hair done so I cannot make a recommendation as far as that goes. I'm sure they do a good job, if you're ok with that price range. read more
