I have been going to O'Hair Salon for over 7 years. I was late to my appointment by 33 minutes…read more this Saturday, which was for a cut and full foil.. I knew I was late so I said, "please just give me a haircut" to respect my hairdressers time. When I went to pay, O'Hair Salon's Salon Manager made the decision to charge me the full amount of the foil I did not receive- I would. have been ok for a fee but $175 for being 30 minutes late .?? AND, in addition to paying around $230 4 times a year for seven years.... to do the math... This is spending over $10,000 over 7 years. To not cut me a break.... not cool and disrespectful, to me, as a patron. O'hair Salon needs to check themselves when it comes to this type of management judgement calls.

My visit started out well enough. I was given a questionnaire regarding my past hair experiences…read moreand what I was looking for from my salon. I was escorted to the owner (OMG!) Morty where he listened very attentively and even brought out a picture to reconfirm. After that, my experience went downhill. Morty popped out for a smoke and then kept running off (5 times) mid haircut to work on a dye job on another patron. He finished, blew dry my hair and then started, what I thought, was fine tuning on the back of my hair. After five minutes I asked what he was doing and he told me he was thinning my hair so it wouldn't be so bulky in the back. I have fine hair, bulk has never been a problem. But I thought, "Hey, i have no idea what to do with hair". After that Morty finished up and when he spun me, I discovered he had shorn my head up the back. At it's longest it is one and half inches in the back and chin length at the front. I asked for a straight simple bob, I even used the word pageboy. When I asked him why he did that to the back of my head, his response was, "It's what I did" and he turned & left. I paid in state of shock and went home. I returned twenty minutes later and told them I was not happy and my money was refunded. Neither Morty or the manager apologized and left an associate to deal with the visibly upset woman with the worst haircut of her life. Don't use this salon. The lack of attention to customers needs and lack of professionalism really make me wonder how they ever made it to the Washingtonian's Top Fifty place to get a haircut. I'm baffled by this.

This place is a fixture in Wheaton and yet it took me 30 years to come here! I still don't know…read morewhat made me want to go blonde (though I feel like everyone imagines it at one point) but: 1) turning 30, 2) COVID crisis, and 3) having to postpone my wedding 3 times due to said COVID crisis were reasons enough. I made an appointment in September 2020 with Amanda (just looked on the website for a stylist) and prepared to go blonde. She had looked over the photos I sent and we spoke and came to a better idea of what I wanted/could achieve. I had about 3 years' worth of box dye on my head (2 inches of roots) and my natural color is a Level 2, the box dye put me at maybe Level 3 or 4. The process was long but that was to be expected and Amanda very thorough - hair is her passion and it shows! We got halfway to where I wanted to be in that session and she recommended me some products (that I bought and then later purchased again on my own - Kerastase, why does everything you make have to smell SO good?!?!) I've since gone twice more to get to the level of blonde I want (the lightest parts are basically Level 9 now!) I know there are bound to be people who complain about something, anything about the process but I don't have a single complaint. It's a given that such a huge transformation will take a long time and while my little tailbone is dead at the end, these stylists have had their arms up, standing and working for ~6 hours so us clients can have gorgeous hair! Amanda is super professional and personable - I can trust her with my hair and she's always willing to make things right (the first time the toner was too light it washed out almost immediately and she saw me the day after to get it a bit darker so it would fade better, at no charge). Plus, she has the best recommendations for restaurants in the county!

I called in a couple of days prior to see if I can get an appointment with Pinky. Luckily she had availability the next week at a perfect time for me! I walked in and was greeted right away. It was a bit chaotic, but I was able to get a wash easily. Unfortunately once Pinky started combing thru my hair, she saw that there was still some residue of conditioner left, so we had to rinse again. No problem, though. Onto the cut- I told her exactly what I wanted, how many inches off, and showed her an inspo picture! She blew dried my hair and started styling and omgoodness, it was better than the inspo picture! I was genuinely so impressed by her work, I couldn't stop taking selfies! Pinky now has a loyal customer! Thank you so much for making me feel so glam!

I first started this review a year ago and had an important event to attend so was very nervous but i walked out feeling like a princess.. i really did:) i am back today with my eight year old daughter who is a very tough customer: ) So far I am super impressed esp afer a horrible experience at the hair cuttery in germantown(another story). The lady who is taking care of my daughter is AMAZING!My girl has super tight curls so washing is an ordeal but our odalis fairy took her time and when i tried to help, she called another employee to help her.(compare this to hair cuttery where not only did i have to help,no one thought to tell me not to help coz it isnt my job..hellooo).anyhoo, our fairy continues working on my daughter's hair very patiently and continues to calll sara to help her every time i try to help. She understands that i am customer and treats me as i expect to be treated, and goes out of her way checking on my daughter and asking if she is ok, adjusting her seat so she can use her kindle!is she sweet or what?
