The two pictures that are dated are images of the hair coloring services and outcomes I received on April 2, 2026 (the original hair coloring day), and the "corrective" root coloring session on April 19, 2026 due to Shari's error on April 2nd.
I paid $150 for a hair consultation fee to discuss coloring my hair with Shari on March 3, 2026. Shari sat across from me as she "consulted" me and told me my hair looked healthy and that she could achieve brown-blonde highlights on my hair from root to tip. She did not actually go through my hair to assess it. Based on what she said and the state of my hair, she told me we could proceed with coloring my hair. On April 2, 2026, Shari colored my hair and I paid her $822 ($685 for the service with a 20% tip ($137)). She was displeased with her work and told me to come back on a Sunday so that she could "remove the warmth" from the front of my hair because she said she was a "perfectionist." Later, I realized that she meant that she needed to fix the fact that my hair was too brassy, contrary to what I originally asked for. I contacted her twice to schedule my appointment for April 19, 2026 to "correct" my roots. She proceeded to color my roots and I left the salon with conditioner in my hair. I washed it out and styled it as usual, per her directions. I was shocked to discover that all the highlights that were at the front of my head were gone. There was about five inches of highlights removed from the front of my hair now. The April 19th "corrective" root session made my hair worse off than what it had looked like on April 2nd. It looked like I had been growing out my hair for months after a highlighting session. I expressed my displeasure with my results with Shari, telling her that I did not get what I paid for. I ended up spending $972 on a fake consultation and a botched highlighting job from Shari. Shari proceeded to tell me that it was the case that my hair was so damaged before she highlighted it that she should not have highlighted it at all. If this was actually the case, then why did she not (a) tell me that at the consultation, or (b) tell me the day of hair coloring that she was uncomfortable with highlighting my hair? She proceeded to tell me that I knew how damaged my hair was at the consultation and should have told her and that there was no way she could have known how damaged it was at first. Isn't a consultation supposed to be where the client shows up for the hairdresser to actually go through their hair and assess how to proceed with a hair coloring session based on the hairdresser's knowledge, experience, expertise, and the state of your hair? She did not do this. Instead, she is choosing to make my hair out to be so damaged beyond a point where she could safely highlight it, which was not the case, to absolve her own deficiencies to highlight my hair how she promised to. Even if she did think my hair was truly damaged to a point of not wanting to highlight it at all...then why did she proceed to color and highlight it on April 2nd? She is the coloring specialist but the coloring services were not so special. In her text exchanges with me she repeatedly blamed me for how my hair turned out, refused to issue me a partial refund for the full consultation fee and half of the hair coloring and tip I paid her ($561 total I asked to be refunded), and insinuated that I brought this dissatisfaction to her because I was not used to paying as much as I did for my hair coloring. If you look at the images of how my hair looked after April 19th, do you really think the coloring consultation and services she rendered was worth $972 in total? She is a con-artist and completely disrespectful to her clientele. I am truly disappointed in where this ended up because now I cannot even rectify my hair for months until it is safe to highlight it again. I will not be using her services ever again and will be taking my business elsewhere. Please, beware of this stylist. I am begging you. When clients express dissatisfaction with her services she will attempt to call you broke. read more
