So disappointed. My son got me a gift certificate from this salon for me for Christmas. Never imaging that there would be an expiration date, I went to give them a call in April to find out that they will not honor it because in fact there was an expiration date of 3 months after the date bought. As a business owner here in the Denton area, I would never put an expiration on a gift certificate- something that someone has already spent money on, something that I had already gotten paid for. I don't agree with your "quarterly" business paperwork for not honoring it. Or the fact that you would give me a half price offer after you already have $100 of my family's money. Summer is an absolute miracle worker!!! I went to a different stylist (I won't name names) who gave me DARK brown roots on my bright blonde hair (I literally went for highlights...awk). It was completely hideous! LUCKILY summer got me in the day after this disaster and color corrected my hair and got me back to the beautiful blonde color I was always going for! Summer really knows what she's talking about and completely blew me away with her ability to fix my mess or a hair color. If you're looking for a great salon, then look no further; Salon NV is it. The salon is similar to a loft-type space with exposed pipes on the ceiling and has an open floor plan. This is not your typical salon with all the stations lined up one right after another- stations are strategically placed throughout the space providing privacy and a unique experience. One thing that sets Salon NV out from all other salons is how comfortable the rinse stations are. Each rinse station has a padded extenstion for your head- no more neck cricks (and not to mention the flat screen above the rinse stations so you aren't staring at a ceiling). The customer service is impecable, and the stylists make you feel right at home. Upon arrival you are greeted with a smile and offered a beverage, and let me tell you, they have everything- mimosas, sodas, wine, coffee, water- just to name a few. The background music is the perfect volume; not too loud so you can't hear yourself speak (or more importantly so your stylist can't hear what you want), and is never the same over-played songs you just heard on the radio. After bad experiences with 2 other salons in the Denton area, I have FOUND my new place! I saw Jennifer, (the owner). She took the time and discussed my color/cut options. The highlight/lowlights are spot on. The cut was better than what I had gotten in the past (from other salons). Love Salon NV's design - open, bright and cheerful. Love the black/purple color schemes! Absolutely got the giggles when I lay down at the wash station to see a TV on the ceiling! Brilliant! So glad I found Salon NV. I recently moved to the Denton area so finding a new salon scared me. (After all I had been going to my salon in Houston for over 35 years.). As I had fairly long hair that is quite thick and curly I knew a great haircut was a must. (And even though I have curly hair, it can be frizzy so I always straighten it. ) Now, being a few months shy of 65 I knew I needed something with more shape and style. Should I go short, try curly, medium length, go straight???? I was in a tizzy! I asked lots of friends where they had their hair done, but in the end decided to trust the reviews on Yelp. And am I glad I did. I started by calling Salon N V. I feel so blessed that Jennifer answered the call. I explained that I was looking for something new to do with my mop of hair, how it was thick and curly, and I was thinking of letting it go natural ( as in gray!!! But hopefully pretty gray!). Jennifer listened and then said she was the owner of the store and would be happy to take the task on! So the big day arrived. Jennifer discussed several possibilities, but in the end I left it totally in her hands. I am so glad I did. Not only did I get an amazing cut, but she is helping me to transition my hair to its natural color. She put In low lights that look great. I love my new look and so do my friends. Don't live in the area and needed my hair done for a wedding. I sent a message from yelp and Jennifer responded very quickly answering every question and set up an appointment with Savannah. The salon is very cute, and personable! I had to change my appointment up and it was easy to do. Leatha has really great skills! She took my hair from a dark brown to platinum blonde in a very short amount of time. I've had platinum blonde hair most of my adulthood except for 2 years where it was brown. I wasn't expecting my brown hair to fully go platinum blonde after just one visit. I've never had that happen before. The appointment lasted so long that i had to continue it the next day. She took her time and did everything the right way. I didn't loose any hair in the process and my hair was still soft after hours of processing. I've had salons rush me and hair break but that was not my experience here. My hair is now platinum blonde and still healthy. I've Ben twice now and will continue to go back. My second time around my scalp started to tingle (like every blonde knows) so she mixed up some special treatment and the tingling was gone. After being disappointed at many salons looking for a new hairdresser after mine moved away, I have finally found my new go-to place and stylist! Ashlee at Salon NV was amazing, she knew exactly what I wanted before I even explained it and was so easy to talk to throughout the appointment. She wasn't happy with how my color came out after dying it the first time (my hair didn't quite pick up the color in as well as she wanted in certain parts) and actually pointed out the imperfection and asked if I would like to come back later that afternoon or anytime in the next week to reapply color. This happens with my hair often, the roots don't quite match the rest of the hair, and she is the first stylist since my other one moved away that has noticed it and offered to fix it without me being the one to point it out! My hair looked great after the first appointment, but there were very few places that weren't perfect and Ashlee wanted to make sure that it was completely perfect and wouldn't settle for anything less. When I went back today for my second appointment I decided to get my eyebrows waxed and colored and she did an amazing job at that as well as fixing the minor imperfections that were in my hair color! I can't say enough awesome things about her, and I am actually looking forward to my next hair appointments which is something that I haven't been able to say in a very long time. :) Another thing that I loved about how Ashlee did my hair was something that is so small but makes a big difference, she made sure that there wasn't a harsh line showing that my hair had just been done. A lot of salons just wash the color out and don't pay much attention to the dye that stays behind on your forehead that's an almost perfect line, but this time that was taken care of and I was able to go straight on to running my errands without anyone being able to tell I had just gotten my hair colored. I am really not happy with how my hair turned out. The color was not what I wanted. I even showed my hairdresser a bunch of pictures and tried to explain exactly what I wanted. The cut wasn't even a true cut either as the front of my hair is way longer than the rest of it, I'm either going to have to trim it myself or go somewhere else. I am definitely not coming back and I cant wait for my hair to grow out. Maybe I didn't explain well enough what exactly I wanted or the hairdresser didn't understand from the pictures but I am just really sad and embarrassed that my hair looks like this, especially since I waited a long time and did a lot of research on what I wanted. read more

I called to get an appointment for an up-do as I'm flying in for a wedding this weekend. I left a voicemail first thing in the morning & didn't hear back. I called again later that day to see if they got the message & the person (I think the owner) told me she had text messages out to her stylists to see who could do an up-do for Saturday. Here it is another day later & I have yet to hear back from anyone. How does a salon NOT have a schedule book to see who is going to be working on what days & what appointments they have? At least have a google calendar that everyone can access & input their appointments so you know exactly what's going on. Working in salons for MANY years in Illinois, I have never seen anything like this & am absolutely not impressed as it's unprofessional & completely unorganized. So, I called another place & made an appointment right then & there when I called. Sorry, but I'd rather have my hair done at a place that has their act together.
