This salon is really nice & clean. A warm, relaxing decor & atmosphere. Parking is easy and plentiful. Plenty of shops & food in the same shopping center (Starbucks, Safeway, Chipotle, Poke Don, BevMo, etc.). Very convenient. Nicole Amaral has been the perfect stylist for me. My first visit was to fix my drab highlights and bad haircut. She fixed me right up and I've been going back to her ever since. She was also very sweet to squeeze in an appointment for my daughter's very first haircut on short notice. My daughter is shy and Nicole made her feel very comfortable. I also appreciate being able to text Nicole for appointments. I just really dislike having to call and make appointments. I highly recommend Salon Murcel! I have had my hair done at Salon Murcel several times over the past few years.The stylists are wonderful and always do a great job. This past week, my daughter asked to have her hair done for the new school year. She was booked with Cly, who is so sweet and wonderful. When the bright pink and blue my daughter chose washed out quickly due to the nature of my daughter's hair, Cly was wonderful about recoloring my daughter's hair a darker blue. The final results are absolutely spectacular and I cannot recommend Cly and Salon Murcel highly enough :) read more

Jenn Barot is my go to stylist at this salon! I'd been trying to find a new stylist for years that could do great layering and is good with thinning shears and she definitely is! She's also super sweet and great to talk with during the appointments. She really listens to what I want and even in the end will ask me to feel my hair and tell her if it feels right or if I would like anything changed. I get so many compliments on my hair now. I saw Young for the first time! I highly recommend her. She takes her time in making sure your cut is perfect, she has a gentle touch (washing, brushing etc). I was in great need of a haircut after months of not being able to go. The salon is clean, quiet and welcoming. I liked her so much I sent my husband to get his haircut with her later that afternoon. The great thing about Young's service is that she washed my husbands hair unlike MANY men's haircut stylist just wet the hair down. This was my first time going to this salon. I really needed a haircut and wanted it on a monday! Who knew that so many salons were closed on monday? I know what you are thinking, "the horror, you went to a salon you didn't know anything about!!!!?" This one was open and I took a chance and it paid off!!!! I called them late in the day and they were able to set me up with an appointment last minute. I was feeling so dowdy when I called them and just needed a change. They were able to take me in the next 20 minutes without an appointment. I live nearby so this made it perfect. I wasn't really expecting anything because I was pretty desperate for a haircut at that point. My experience could not have been more surprising or any better. I walked in to a beautiful salon that was clean. The front desk staff was so nice! My stylists name was Debbie Peled. All I can say is she is awesome!!! She instantly made me feel at ease, and listened to my concerns about my hair. She said that she had curly hair herself normally, and knew what it was like. I had remnants of some old blonde highlights on my ends that was drying my hair out, and making it look so washed out and poofy. I have curly hair and I think its hard to find someone who knows what they are doing with curly hair so that the hair cut looks great both curly and straight. I was a little nervous when she asked me if I was okay with cutting the blonde ends off (about 2 inches of hair), but she assured me that it would look and feel so much better. I am so glad I listened. She gave me a fantastic haircut and blowout that made me feel like a new woman. All in all, my experience was great. I felt l was renewed and just from a simple haircut. It takes a certain kind of person to do that, make you feel better about yourself in a little less time than an hour. There's nothing more disappointing than making an appointment, arriving 5 minutes early to respect their time and waiting to be told not asked that they will be taking 30 more minutes. This place is new to me, but my stylist, Mergie is not! I was so happy when she said she was moving to this salon. Not only is the atmosphere beautiful, the staff is very kind. I drive all the way from Benicia to see my stylist. Ladies you know that says something! Mergie has a way with color! Every time I see her and go home, my husband is like - OOH LA LA!!! She's also great with the young girls. My twin 16 year olds will only go to her! My 9 year old has a head of curly hair and Mergie is the only one that can make it look like it should! First off Salon Murcel is freaking awesome. I use to come in a lot when Bonnie use to work here. Now that she doesn't anymore I was in need of a new stylist. So I called up yesterday and asked for a basic haircut appointment. I got there and they told me I was going to be getting my haircut by David. A little hesitant just because I've never had my hair cut by a male before. David came over and introduced himself to me, sat me down in the chair and listened to what I had to say about how I would like my hair. He gave me plenty of suggestions on how to upkeep with my fine hair and recommended plenty of great products they offer there at the salon. I had an appointment with Tanis yesterday to have my hidden crown hair extension fitted and styled. I've had the darn thing for 9 months but felt awkward putting it on, and challenged as to how to style it. Tanis was wonderful! She explained as she went about how it's supposed to fit on your scalp, adjusted the wire for me and gave me step by step instructions on how to style and care for the hair.
