The overall vibe + the holiday decorations were so aesthetically pleasing and added to the full experience, I felt immersed in Vika's service and could tell right away she put a lot of passion into what she does! She made me feel listened to and excited, and she introduced me to some clean, natural hair care that I still need to go back and purchase from her! I took a short paper survey so she had some insight to my hair history and goals, showed her some photos and explained what I wanted, and she got right to work. I felt super comfy in her chair while she washed my hair, products smelled amazing and made my hair SO soft, she introduced me to a GHD wet to dry brush I also need to purchase now lol, and she gave me the BEST haircut I've ever had. I dyed my hair on 5/6 and asked on Yelp on 5/8 and got my treatment on 5/21. I can't believe she has the audacity to reply my reviews with lies like this. I will include pics of my Yelp project as well as her reply! I caution everyone to stay away from this shady business. Original review: I was looking around for a keratin treatment in the area and narrowed down to this salon. I did my research and looked at every reviews especially the negative ones. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and boy was I wrong! I've done these keratin treatments 3 times before at 2 different salons. Every time, the results came out great! Since those salons were no longer in business, I had to look for a new place. Jane needed a consultation before the treatment so I went in on 5/13. It was a quick 5 min consultation and confirmed that I was doing the regular keratin, made an appt for the week after. She said she prefers cash and the treatment was $380. Went back to get my treatment done on 5/21. As some of the reviews said, she is not the friendly type who would chit-chat with you which I didn't mind. She did answer my questions when I asked. But yes, "with an attitude and general unfriendliness" - quoting one of the reviews. I asked her if I would be getting my hair trimmed, (as I had always got it at different salons when getting these treatment.) She said "your hair is not straight. after this treatment, you need to get a haircut!" I was confused and thought that haircut is included . Then I asked her "will you trim it? " she said "ok, I will give you a haircut after the treatment" So after the treatment, she gave me a haircut which was 15 min at most. Then she said "usually I charged $80 for a haircut, but with treatment. I will charge you $70!" she didn't say anything about the extra cost for the haircut, let alone, $70 extra!!!! She should have said that before giving me a haircut and asked me if it's ok!!! I was not happy about it but i didn't confront her, I let it go and still paid her...cash! The whole thing took a little over 2hrs, not 3.5 hrs as she lied. 2 days after, I washed my hair as told by her with the recommended shampoo! And my hair was still very curly and frizzy! I texted her, and she told me to go back to her salon and get checked by her. I went in the following week and the first thing she said was "So what did you do?" I was shocked. I did nothing. I only did what she told me to do, not wash my hair for 2 days! Then she said "I have done this for 10 yrs and you are my first complaint!" I was like "so do you think this is ok??? " this is not a complaint, it's a problem. She blamed it on the conditioner I used, even though I showed her a pic of my conditioner during the treatment and she did say the conditioner didn't matter. She blamed it on my hair type saying my hair was curly and frizzy. She said some ppl might need to do it 2 times. But if she is so experienced, she should have known during our consultation! I showed her pics of how my hair turned out great after keratin treatment before and she said "other ppl use formaldehyde and I don't " I said the most recent one I got was without formaldehyde and still worked on my hair! At the end, she said she will do it again for me but in 1.5 hr. I confirmed with her that there is no fee cause I didn't want any surprises! In the follow up appointment, she came in late and there were No apologies whatsoever!! I read a review saying how someone was late and she took it seriously! But when she is late, she acts like nothing!! At that point, I know that she does not hold responsible for the things she does wrong, as simple as being late. The treatment was actually only 1 hr, not 1.5 as she lied. When she finished, she said " this is all I can do ". And yes, her attitude has been "doing you the biggest favor in the world even though you are paying her" quoting from one of the reviews. 2 days after the treatment, I washed my hair with the recommended shampoo AND conditioner this time. It's still frizzy, dry-looking and curlier than before. Obviously the treatment didn't work! It's not giving the result that it claimed and definitely not what I wanted. I texted her, she didn't respond, 2 days later, I texted again. Nothing. I then called and realized she BLOCKED me! Yes, just as one of the reviews mentioned, she blocks you when you did nothing wrong! So yes, I got SCAMMED! I hated writing bad reviews. I wanted to support small businesses and was hoping to find a place I can go for my hair. but in return, I lost $450 (treatment plus haircut). I wish I trusted the negative reviews on this business. I am writing all this in hope that no one will get scammed like me!

Her salon is in the left hallway, all the way to the end of a bunch of other salons. Her place is clean, and she is always attentive to her customer. She does haircut, color, ombre, balayage, hair treatment etc. You can book by phone number or on her website or on Yelp. The perm I had with her is always gentle, pain free, and stays for months! Trust me if you want to get treated by an Asian hair expert, she is the one to go to! She knows her customer hair condition, propose treatment and have nice little details for you. This review is for Libby…read more I've been seeing Libby for over two years and actually travel back to the Bay Area just to have my hair done by her - that's how good she is. She's a true color magician. She helped me transition through the awkward grey stage at exactly the right time, and later brought me back to light brown in a way that blends beautifully with my fast-growing greys and grows out naturally without constant upkeep. The moment I knew I could fully trust her was when she gave me a short haircut, something I'm usually very hesitant about and absolutely nailed it. Finding a stylist who is genuinely excellent at both color and cutting is surprisingly rare, and Libby is both. She listens carefully, understands the science behind how color and texture behave, and designs styles that actually look great as they grow out not just the day you leave the chair. She's also warm, funny, and incredibly easy to be around. Even my husband, who normally avoids hair maintenance altogether, got a cut from her and loved it. If you care about grey transition, natural grow-out, or just want low-maintenance hair that still looks polished, Libby is the one.

Anyways, the place itself is pretty convenient since it's located by the freeway. The place is surprisingly pretty big and spacious and my mom's hairdresser is always patient and polite. I will admit probably for my mom's next visit I'll have to stick around a tad longer and help my mom and her hairdresser when my mom gets her hair washed. So not everything there is I guess ADA available, but it's a minor thing for now since my mom has very limited mobility but can move with some assistance. As for the hairstyle, mom is always happy and I personally think makes her feel as normal as she can get these days and being content let alone having another outside interaction besides with me is always a good thing!

Before getting a cut at Aki's though, here are some notes to help make your visit easier and more enjoyable: 1. Aki is trilingual, fluent in Japanese, Mandarin, and English. She was trained on her craft in Japan. 2. Focus Aki is very focused at her work. She will chat and have conversations with you, but you would have to initiate. That being said, if you are the quiet type or just not want to have to talk to anyone, you'll be fine. 3. Vibe If you replaced the Tiffany teal walls of her studio with wood, you would be in a cozy Ghibli cottage. It's like walking into someone's cozy corner. Spa music is usually playing so it's more of a relaxing feeling. Aki goes straight to the chase, so no dillydallying here. 4. Have reference photo(s) Aki will cut your hair, to the best of her ability, to look just like the photo you have provided. She will take a photo of the haircut you want, and keep it on the table for her to refer to. That being said, know that she may use different methods of cutting (and styling) you are not used to as she was trained in Japan. 5. Hairwashing Aki dry cuts directly, so if you want your hair cut with freshly washed hair, wash and dry your hair before going. Not a requirement, this is only if you really want to. But since Aki does not wash hair before the cutting, she is able to spend more time in the cutting and styling process, which has been worth it every time for me. 6. Name any hair concerns Love a hairstyle but you don't know if you have enough hair for it? Losing hair but want a short cut with volume? Bangs too short for a haircut with longer bangs? Reference photo has a person with different hair type than yours and so you don't know if you can pull it off? TELL AKI. All my haircuts have been successful with her because I have told/asked her things like.. "My hair is really flat on top but I want volume like in the [reference] photo...but I am also a busy mom so I need low/no maintenance." "The girl in the reference photo has a different hair type than mine, would I still be able to get my hair cut to look like this?" "I like this [reference] hairstyle, but I don't want to have to style it every day. If I get this cut, would it still look good without styling?" "I part my hair on different sides depending on how I feel, would I still be able to do that with the new haircut?" "Can I style this cut without using product?" "I have a bunch of baby hairs growing out, can you help blend them into the haircut?" The pricing for a haircut with her is more than reasonable, and she has always put in her 100% every time.
