No offense to the lady stylists, but I found that I am happier with the results of male stylists. Neil turned out to be the owner and had over 40 years of experience cutting hair. He took the time to clean up my very long hair and gave me an updated Dorothy Hamill wedge cut. Also had a pleasant time chatting with Neil while he cut my hair. I came here yesterday super last minute because I got held up at work and missed my appointment with my usual hair stylist at another salon which was really great of them. I had no complaints about their flexibility at all. I also think the color and shape of my hair turned out good (color will fade into more reddish brownish but looks really black right now which I'm also a bit worried about) but I asked her to leave my hair long and cut off only like half an inch. Unfortunately I've been crying all night because she ended up cutting at about three inches! Usually it wouldn't be such a big deal but I'm getting engaged tomorrow and the idea of having my hair so short for a moment I've been dreaming of for years is just heartbreaking. I'm going to see if I can find some one to put in extensions when I really shouldn't have to pay an extra $300+. On top of that I have to call out of work as well so it's costing me more than I have the luxury to afford at the moment. The stylist did apologize and she was really sweet. Literally I get a message on Sunday while I'm enjoying my day with family ....from Bhumika and we went back and forth but found her message condescending and rude. My appt was last minute I mean I called and that's what you told me was available don't tell your customers you have availability and then say we'll you booked it last minute?!? If they told me next availability is next week I would of came here. This is unprofessional and she continued to call me cheap and other things as I have messages to prove that as well.... Being a new resident and I did a search for the local hair salons. I saw great rating (4.7) from yelp about on Salon Marcel. I specifically requested Bhumika due to her past customers satisfaction. However, I was told by Young that she is no longer working there but all the hairdressers are just as superb! In fact, she said that Bjumika was not that great! I walked in and greeted by Young. She'd mentioned to me that she has 30 plus years of haircuts experience and she offered to cut my hair. Unfortunately, she did not follow through my request even though I showed her the photo. Throughout the process, she kept complimenting how great her haircut techniques. She even complained about why other customers didn't request this same haircut that she is so talented at! Towards the end, I was asked to pay her personally instead of at the front desk. She had mentioned to me that she only accepts personal checks, cash, and or Zelle. I have to walk outside with my umbrella on in order to purchase something at Safeway through my debit card so I can withdrawal cash in order to pay her! The whole experience has been outrageous! I believe the manager needs to communicate with the staff so these things will never happen to the future customers! read more

My hair was a disaster (yes that's right, Covid at home coloring), and after consultation with Agnes I agreed whatever she recommended. This review is long over due. I haven't opened YELP for a long time. But I always remember this incident and wanted to post on Yelp. This feedback is for: BHUMIKA. She wasn't bad, not extraordinary awesome stylist as well. Just average. It's her manner in term of tip. I gave her $80 at check out, she said: "YOU'RE GOOD. $80 WITH TIP". Well the service only for $60. If I want to give 20% which is generous enough for me, it would only $12. And for courtersy, shouldn't she ask first: "HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO TIP?" Instead of taking all my 4x$20 dollar bills=$80! (I gave $80 because I meant with the tip total: 60+12=72 at least she gave me back $5. Not took all $80). On top of that, before hand, she said she only took cash, no credit card. The salon was full at tht time. I didn't want to feel embarassed to argue abt the tip in front of other guests. So UNCOMFORTABLE & what a no manner situation she has created. She only hit 1 big tip, but NO REPEAT CUSTOMER!! Too bad. And for her own dignity sake too, I hope this could become a good feedback for her. Btw the Salon is overpriced. If you are in the area go to HUNTER JOSEPH! I asked for hair color, brown hair color. but the hair stylist Neil did the roots only. Now my hair looks three different colors. I was charged full price for hair color but did not received the hair color, only roots of my hair was done. I even point out to him my hair, that my roots are not matching with my hair. bottom of my hair had some faded highlights. He said come back next week and pay $60 more. i already paid $100 for hair color. and i confirmed with receptionist three times that for the hair color is $100 she confirmed three times that hair color is $100.. even when I made the appointment I was told by Neil and receptionist it will be $100 for brown hair color. I left super upset and it was my marriage anniversary. After leaving the salon I called the salon and the receptionist answered I told her how upset I was for not getting my whole hair colored. She said she will talk to the owner and get back to me by today afternoon. But instead i called her to ask what did the owner said.. She said this kind of issues needs to be resolved with the hairstylist but I tried he was charging me more another $60, why should i pay again if i already have paid the full amount for hair color Also, this time receptionist said for hair color is $160. It looked attractive and clean in the pictures so I called for an appointment. It was Wednesday afternoon and I would have to wait until Saturday morning but what's a few more days at this point, right? After having my temperature taken and filling out a questionnaire I met Bhumika, my stylist. She led me to her very sanitary work station and we talked about my hair. I could tell right off she was good. She listened to me and made some suggestions about my hair style. We hit it off right away, my hair cut was perfecto. Staff was friendly and make it more enjoyable for me to be in while getting a hair cut. The woman cutting my hair goes by the name "Abby" she was awesome. Talked through the whole thing with me while cutting my hair. Cut about 20 inches off and I was amazed still about how short my hair is. I would not recommend the stylist if you are expecting to go out on a date after your appointment. This is because all your make up would be ruined from the water sprays all over your face. My face and neck was all wet during the hair wash. Strong sprays of water at high velocity is never going to go down well. I was a little shocked initially and thought I'd dismiss it because I needed cooling down from my walk anyway. Plus I didn't have makeup on to worry about. I've never had such forceful sprays of water all over my face at any hairdresser. The positive is that the cut is great. Improvement would be if the stylist would listen to the customer. Mergie is amazing! If I could give her 10 stars I would! She is a coloring genius. Really, she's a genius when it comes to hair no matter if you're coloring, cutting, styling or just trying to get it into great condition. Especially for long hair. She took my ratty, broken, tangly, dry, damaged hair and transformed it over the last year into luscious, bouncy, healthy golden locks! I have A LOT of hair. It is hard for hair dressers to manage all of it. It usually takes several appointments to color because it is long and thick (each strand is actually pretty fine, but there is just A LOT of it). Mergie takes her time and gives realistic timelines of how to get the results you want without totally killing your hair. While I have been seeing her I even started growing strange new seasonal hairs (probably due to vitamins I started taking). They annoyed me to no end because they all started growing in at once, stuck up all over my head and contrasted sharply with the long hair I have been growing for years! She gave me the best cut to camouflage them as they grow out. I can't say enough great things about her. She has completely transformed my hair. Now it is in the best condition it ever has been and the color looks great. We lightened it up, but it looks beautiful and natural. No bleach! Just hi-lift so my hair was damaged as little as possible! She gives the best conditioning treatments, the best recommendations to get your hair back to it's healthy beautiful self again, and the best coloring!
