I used salon murcel for my wedding hair and makeup in July ...and WOW! Lindsey was my hair stylist and she is absolute perfection! She did an amazing job on my hair and the team was fantastic with my bridesmaids, aunts and moms! I also had lindsey cut my hair before the wedding and she was great at that as well. Melissa did the makeup and she did another amazing job!!! I came in looking like a mess, trying not to cry and they totally fixed me up. I would 100% recommend everyone there for your daily haircuts and special occasions. I have never been loyal to a salon before, but they now have a loyalist in me. I have tough curly hair and have very rarely had good experiences but Lindsey was great! I went to them solely based on the yelp reviews and it was totally worth my while. read more

Dave is my go to man for my haircuts. He really takes into consideration your style and what you're going for. Very attentive to detail and will make sure you leave with a great haircut. I'm very picky as to who cuts/styles my hair and I have to say Dave is top notch. In addition to the haircut itself, the salon is very well maintained and has a great/friendly staff. I had my daughter's wedding on 7/15 and scheduled an appointment for formal hairstyle for all my guests with Mary and Bhumika. I had worked with Mary before and was familiar with her services and was introduced to Bhumika through the salon. Bhumika called many times the months before the event, asking for pictures and exact hairstyle etc. I had sent her pictures of what my guest wanted but she continued to call me and ask. I called the Salon manager about two weeks before my event to ask if my makeup stylist could come to the salon to do makeup while my guests got their hair done which the manager allowed as I gave him compensation. He asked which two stylists I was working with which I told him. A couple days later I receive a call from Bhumika threatening to cancel her services a week before my event because she thought I spoke to the boss to report her (which I did not and had no reason to at that point), I explained to her I talked to the manager to have my makeup artist come not to report her. After this misunderstanding I made the mistake of sticking with her. The day of the event she was scheduled to do bridal guest hair for three people- she spent three hours doing one person and did not know what she was doing at all. She was anxious and shaking the entire time and did not know how to style hair. She wouldn't listen when they showed her a picture of what they wanted and blamed the guest and their hair texture. She ended up doing two people of which the second person had Mary restart and fix her hair. We were an hour late to our wedding, when we had scheduled services 9 hours before the event because of her negligence and inability to style hair. The next day when I told her how I was feeling and that I was very disappointed with her service, she send paragraphs criticizing my guests and their character and did not apologize or take any accountability. I am very disappointed with Bhumika and hope she will no longer be working here and dissuade anyone from working with her, she will ruin your special day. read more

Not only does Young listen to my needs and requests, she's super helpful in making suggestions to improve the health of my hair. David is highly skilled in various hair coloring techniques. I began seeing David after my longtime hair stylist, Debbie, passed away. Debbie also worked at Salon Murcel. David was recommended to me by Sina, the aesthetician from the salon. David has spent many hours working on my thick and medium coarse hair. He has highlighted, low lighted and given my hair the right color changes when my hair needed it. When I felt adventurous (for the first time ever), he helped me choose appropriate colors for my hair to add drastic, but still natural-looking updates. Any time I've pointed out something I didn't like (cut, color, highlights, lowlights) he has corrected and kept from making the same "mistake" twice. This is a review for Ashley. After 30 years as a brunette, I was understandably desperate for a change. After deciding to lighten my hair, I began my search for a stylist with the skillset to make it happen. I put all my faith in Yelp, and found Ashley at Salon Murcel. Luckily, another client with a similar request had posted pictures which convinced me of Ashley's abilities. I was able to make an appointment for two days later(super fast!). Ashley is super nice and honest. I explained to her what I wanted and what my concerns were. She was thrilled to accept the challenge but explained that she would need more time than the 2 hours allotted for my appointment and re-scheduled me for a couple of days later. Ashley explained the process in detail and was friendly for the entire 8 hour appointment! She made sure that I was pleased with the results and has scheduled follow up appointments to ensure the results are exactly what we wanted. I am ecstatic and shocked that she was able to get it as far as she did in only one appointment and look forward to the next couple of months when it is finished. I was searching for a hair salon closer to home, where I don't have to travel 30-45 minutes away and fight traffic! I came across Salon Murcel browsing on Yelp and so I decided to take a chance. Making the appointment was very easy, I sent them a message and requested Effie as my stylist for the haircut. I sent the message on Friday night (late) and I received a call Saturday the following day around 2pm, I was very impressed with the turnaround time of the call back. Effie was on the other line and she sounded very sweet and genuine over the phone and accommodated the date and time I had in mind. Walked in to the salon today with two women sitting at the front counter and greeted me with a smile and welcome. Effie stood up and asked if I was Maria, from the moment I saw her I knew I was in good hands. I love her hairstyle (reminded me of my mom) I told Effie how I wanted my hair and she delivered. I am very particular with how I like my bangs and for the first time ever, she's the only stylist that's able to give me that! I love how she was explaining every single product that she's using on me without being too salesy. I have been going to Salon Murcel for over 4 years now and in particular seeing Bhumika for my hair. She is AWESOME! And bends over backwards to make sure that I am happy with my hair. My hair is not the easiest to cut and style but Bhumika always goes the extra mile to give me the best service. I really appreciate the tips she shares with me. Worst worst worst worst!!! I never expected me to give this review. I recently went for my haircut here. I showed the pictures of what I am looking to the stylist which was front bangs and she said it is only for small girls and not for me. I am in my late 20s. I don't think I am too old for front bangs. I then showed different front side bangs picture and said I wanted thicker bangs. Then I asked a layered v cut by maintaining the same length. She agreed to it and started my hair wash and cut. She didn't care to apply any serum to my hair to protect it from hair dryer and curl heat( that's fine). She didn't show my haircut once it is done. Without informing me she went ahead to go with curling which I don't like. I always like my hair to be flat ironed. After coming home I took hair bath again as I didn't like that curls. I realized only that time I didn't even get a v cut and cut my hair length even though I told her to maintain the length. She just trimmed my hair and it is in my before state layers and even the side bangs were just trimmed from before. I went for haircut due to some event that I have to attend but now I just wasted $80 for nothing but trimming. Now I am unable wear a nice ponytail and also unable to leave my hair free. I don't know how am I go to present myself to my professional event. I will never go back and don't recommend here anymore. read more

My daughter went in and asked for a dark red/burgundy hair color because her hair was already an ashy light brown to dark blonde balayage. She loved the results, two days later the color all washed out and it was back to an orange brassy bleached look. This was a waste of a hundred dollars just to reach something that ended up being the complete opposite of what she had asked for. Next time if it is not possible to achieve a darker color, please specify that so people don't waste their time or money. read more

Cly cut my hair for the first time a few weeks ago. I have curly/wavy hair and enjoy the wash and wear style. This means that I use very little product and no blowdry and or irons on my hair. That being said, it can be difficult to tell exactly how the cut has come out from a stylists perspective when the client insists on leaving with a wet head! Cly was not only willing to work with my needs, but gave me an amazing cut as well. She made it very clear to me that I was to come back if I found that there was anything I wanted touched up. What I like about Cly is that she is conservative with her clients the first time they come in and is willing to work with you to give you the best hair you can have. Love coming to Salon Murcel. My hairstylist, Effie, always leaves me with a huge smile on my face. I've been coming to Effie since high school and make it a point to come all the way back from LA (where I go to school) to have her do my hair. Yesterday went in for Balayage and am so happy with the results (check out the pictures I posted). It's the first time I have ever dyed my hair, but it definitely won't be the last! Mika is fantastic! I was impressed with all the reviews and photos on Yelp for this salon and made an appointment. I had experienced a color disaster with my previous stylist at another salon I had been going to for years. I hated the color and my hair was in bad shape. I was nervous to have try a new salon. Mika did a really great consultation and really took her time and listened. The end result was beyond my expectations. The color and highlights were beautiful. She helped provide products to get my hair back in shape. She even checked in with me the next day to see if I was happy with the results. All I can say is wow and thank you. I'll first start off by saying that I trust very FEW with my hair, so walking into this salon I had to feel comfortable with my stylist and the atmosphere. The whole vibe of the place was great. Nice people, and everyone was very friendly which made me feel at ease. As you can see from the photo, my hair was pretty dark to begin with.
