Today was that day, Helen was the one who made it happen. I was originally scheduled for a new customer appointment with Meghan and we had to move the appointment. I mention this because Meghan was incredible during our rescheduled communications and recommending Helen for the new time and based on what I wanted. So, I went in to meet Helen today. Helen listened to (and looked at) what I wanted to achieve and told me what would be needed to get there. She was detailed, confident, and so knowledgable -- I could not have felt I was in better hands. I knew even as she started I'd finally land where I wanted with my color. I'm thrilled with my hair and also that I finally found somewhere and someone I'd like to go back to! Finally, Meghan, Helen, and team have created a beautiful environment. Lauren is my gal for all hair everything! Cuts, color, grey coverups, highlights. After my first time going to her, which was two years after "Covid " hair, I would have been fine with her giving my mess of a mop a buzz cut! Fortunately, that's not what happened and I walked out walking on a cloud of happiness. When I walk in, about every six or o weeks, I just tell her "I'm in your hands" and the results are always spot on to the time of year, season and mood! Hail to all here, but especially to Lauren!

I spent $350.00 on treatment I did t know I was getting. And left an $80 tip. But I questioned the price. Was told by my hairdresser "I don't know off the top of my head0 and was sent a receipt with the breakdown. I emailed the salon to get an explanation, and this is what I received back: HI Leslie, It's confusing to hear that you are bothered by the price of your services today. The pricing is based on services rendered and very straightforward. We would never charge extra if you were sitting "longer than necessary" and I would also be curious what you are basing timing on. We don't typically give a step by step quote... we use our professional judgement on what your hair needs to look its best. I would recommend letting your stylist know budget restrictions before the appointment to make sure we can accomplish that goal. Best, Megan Brennan Essentials Salon

She is absolutely amazing! My highlights and hair have never looked better, and I'm quite particular. She is truly an artist, her color is spot-on and beautifully done. There also is no double-booking, she takes her time and is very detailed. Plus her cuts are great as well, and it's hard to find someone who can both cut and color. The salon itself is super cute, relaxing and elegant, with a nice cozy vibe. If you're a blonde, this is the place to go, Kelly is unbelievable! I can't say enough good things about her and Moxie Salon!

BUYER BEWARE!! I…read morehave been going to Moxie for 3 years. Every 11 weeks, like clockwork, I get a foil and cut. Even though Kerry is the owner I still tip. So after approximately 14 visits (of around $200 per visit) I made a fatal mistake. I screwed up my calendar and missed my appointment. Kerry called and left me a message. I called right back. I called back 2 more times. Due to the timing it's also my birthday. I found out my MIL called and left FIVE messages (trying to buy me a gift certificate.) KERRY NEVER CALLED BACK ONCE. I drove to the shop to see if it was open and she was ok! Yep, she's just ignoring me. She ghosted me because I made 1 mistake in 3 years. Her voicemail message to me was, "You're never late and it's 10 minutes past your appointment time ..." So guess what I now know: 1) one strike, you're out is her unwritten/unspoken policy 2) she won't even give a courtesy call to explain her unwritten policy (there is nothing on her website and no sign in her shop) One bone of contention I've had: - when I first started going to Moxie I got reminder calls - they just stopped and on at least 2 occasions I called the shop to see if my appointment was still scheduled - in today's digital / social age I get reminders from EVERYONE I deal with (doctor, dentist, Pilates, massage, etc.) Kerry: IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE INTOLERANT OF SCHEDULING MISTAKES then put your money where your mouth is and use a reminder system -- I'd have never missed my appointment if I'd received a reminder. And, while I found out the hard way / now have 14 weeks of roots, I'm happy to now see Kerry's character. I have no interest in giving my business to someone who is intolerant and uncooperative.

Regarding haircuts, HairTheory Studio tops them all. I am graduating in a month and wanted THE BEST. Lauren (my stylist) provided that. WHY? Because Lauren is talented and approaches her work like an artist. Specifically, she carefully scrutinizes your hair, critically listens to want you want, and patiently cuts, evaluates, cuts, evaluates, and so on, unveiling a great cut underneath the original mess. The level of attention to detail exceeded my own, and I came to Lauren with a printed out "haircut game plan" (yes, I'm crazy)!! All you men** out there looking for a stylist, go to Lauren! She pointed out so many things about my previous cuts, such as the fact that my part was SLIGHTLY off. No one above at the other barbershops/salons caught it. And that slight correction changed my look a great deal. To sum up my experience with Lauren, I left my appointment with her feeling inspired. Have you ever felt that way leaving a HAIR CUT?! I was inspired not just by the cut itself (I am SO happy with it), but by the conversation. For those of you who are introverts and would rather chill, I suspect Lauren would go with the flow and support that, too! Thank you, Lauren!! **If you're a woman, I'm sure she does an equally bang-up job, but since I'm a man, I can only speak from that experience

My hair had grown out for 10 months and I hadn't applied color so she could see what the texture was like. Esmeralda spent the time to listen to my concerns, observe my hair and discuss options of what to do next. I liked her suggestions and she offered to do a color treatment. I wondered if she had time as she was already working with another client. She happily said of course! My appointment was at 10:15 a.m. and she had consulted with me, washed, applied color, cut, dry and styled my hair in an hour! I love the color, texture and style this creative professional did in that amount of time. She is very friendly, a good listener and a master stylist. I will easily refer her to anyone looking for a new prescision specialist. Generally, I feel it's a good idea to change it up once in a while. I've been to some high end Barber Shops like Roosters and Bostonian and I must say this one is definitely in the same league. Peter, the manager / main barber, is a master of his art, took 1.5h for my first visit, 1h after opening hours, on a Sunday, and created one of the best beard and hair looks I ever had.
