I also fell for the great reviews. I had extensions put in by Kasey who is an "elite" aritist, one of the highest rankings for invisible bead extensions. After my very first appointment, I noticed the hair was very uneven. Her solution was to cut it to even it our and I lost over 2 1/2'' in length. That is after spending $1500 on the hair to get the length I wanted. Well, after the second move up, the hair was uneven again (this after paying $400 plus tip!). The salon offered to have her 'look at them',but I didn't want to spend more money there. I have gone elsewhere, it is cheaper and my extensions are now even. I am not sure why, either time, Kasey did not check her work when she was finished. I was also not contacted by Kasey after alerting the office, nor offered any kind of refund. read more

I had my hair done by Shana today. When I arrived back in my car and saw my hair in the sunlight it was two different colors. I called the salon to request a time to come back in to have Shana look at it. The receptionist was very kind and scheduled a time for me to come back in. However, I received a call back from the stylist, Shana, and she was very defensive and rude. I felt intimidated and cancelled my appointment to have her fix it. I am feeling really disappointed. The cut and color was $212 and it looks awful. I would give this zero stars if I could. read more

This place had such great reviews so I tried it! Big mistake! The stylist didn't know how to foil my hair and when I expressed my feelings and unhappiness she rebooked me to try it again! Finally, when it still wasn't done correctly, the owner attempted to correct it but didn't succeed. Normally I would just not go back but I felt this needed a review because the only spoke to me like I was a child by telling me to "sit on my hands" when I tried to point at a spot on my head! So 3 visits and 7 HOURS of my time later, it stayed the same. The owner never once apologized or offered a refund clearly thinking my time isn't valuable. Terrible service! read more

TL;DR: Shana messed up my hair twice and I somehow ended up getting blamed for her mistakes, only getting a 50% refund on a $258 service, no apology and stuck with uneven hair.  I came in with a grown-out ombré and asked for an all over copper color. I was given an appointment with Shana after my original appointment was cancelled. I was told by the receptionist I was in great hands, however that was not the case. Shana asked my hair history and where my natural hair ended. I pointed to where and below where I pointed was a transition brown and my blonde tips. She acknowledged that and began on my hair. She started with my virgin roots and worked her way down. When she was done she left me with bright orange hot roots and tips with a dark band in the middle (pic 1 & 2). I called back the next day and told them I was unhappy with how it came out and would like for it to be fixed. I asked if she would even be able to do it because it was so patchy. I even sent pictures and they said Shana was capable of correcting the issue. When I came in again, Shana said she knew the dark band was a possibility because of my previous dye job. That's something she should have mentioned to me during the first consultation and accounted for when doing my hair. She then applied a glaze that she said would even out the color (I asked for confirmation). It did not. She then left me with darker roots and tips with a lighter mid section (pic 3). I told her once she was done that I was unhappy, but she said since the salon was closing we'd have to figure out next steps another day. I call the salon again and ask to speak with the boss, Leah, who told me to come in for another consultation. Leah explained to me what hot roots is without acknowledging that Shana caused it or even apologizing and that the band was from a previous brown dye and that Shana was under the impression I didn't have any previous dye (although I did nothing to give her that impression). She said she would not bleach my ends as my previously lightened tips were compromised and that my only "fix" was foils to disguise the band near my roots. So, I was stuck with uneven hair. I took a day to think about it but decided it would be stupid to give Shana a THIRD chance and asked for a refund. Leah said she was only able to give me a 50% refund because she was not there for the initial consultation and Shana claimed that she took my hair history and I was the one that did not mention my previously dyed hair (completely disregarding the hot roots Shana gave me). She said it would take a few days to receive my refund check in the mail and I had to call over two weeks later to ask for my refund because they clearly forgot to send it which I confirmed based on the date on the check. I understand standing by your employees but to blame the client, still charge 50%, forget to send the refund AND to never even apologize? The worst customer service I've ever experienced, it's laughable. read more

I'm going to start this review by saying that I get very anxious when it comes to getting my hair done. More often than not, I end up unhappy with my cut. Due to this, I don't get my hair done very often. A few weeks ago I tried out a different salon, and long story short, other salon wasn't great; I ended up with blunt, uneven ends. Today, I decided to bite the bullet and scheduled a last minute appointment with Katie, and it was a great decision! She was friendly and attentive and listened to all the reasons I hated my hair, and instantly offered suggestions on how to remedy them. To paraphrase her, "I'm not afraid of thick hair." and she wasn't! She was able to even out my ends and remove a lot of the bulk from my hair. It was validating to finally find a stylist who was honest about thick hair being difficult to manage, and who took the time to do a great job while teaching me about everything she was doing so I would know proper terminology in the future. I am 72 yo and have been going to Leah for the last 6 months or so for my haircut. She does a fabulous job. I recently decided to grow out my colored brownish/reddish hair. She did a reverse highlight and I couldn't be happier. One appointment is all it took and I am now a silver/brown color (more towards the silver) and probably won't need anything other than a cut from now on. I had to call around to 50 salons before I was given a recommendation to Frankie at Salon Metta. I am a cancer survivor and all my hair is fake, though bonded, which means I can't take it off. Frankie cut it so beautifully that next time I will tip him the full amount of the haircut!! Plus, he was kind and understanding, which is much more important when you've already been through the worst trauma. This joint is an oasis in the middle of the urban jungle, a happy getaway from my day to day grind in the Big Apple. Yup, that's right, my wife and I commute 4 hours to get to this amazing salon and receive a day of pampering and it's totally worth it. The owner, Leah, has so much pride in her business and it shows through to every single detail.. from the fire tablets for clients at every station to the coffee AND espresso machines. We seriously could have spent the entire day here. Spotless, amazing vibe, incredible people and the music we'll continue frequenting this establishment! I finished and I realized I haven't said a thing about the services; the haircut is amaze balls, I'm like a walking 4.5 and when I leave Leah's chair I'm an 8, easily the second most attractive chubby guy you're ever going to meet. read more

I see Danielle when I go to this salon. Recently I went to her to start a gradual transition to go from red to grey. I love our plan. The first step turned my hair to a beautiful ash brown. Its really pretty. I am super pleased with the cut as well. To Gianna blew dry my hair and did a great job. They kept it within my budget. Also I am not there for hours at a time. My highlights come out AMAZING every time. I am not able to make it to the salon to get my hair done every 6 weeks, but Leah colors it so it grows out and still looks great! It's so hard to find a hair stylist that is good at blond hair and makes it look natural ;) Well I found one and I'll drive the 4hours for her to do her magic! I love the warm and inviting atmosphere! Leah, the owner, cuts and colors my hair, but also gives great hair advice! She gives honest advice about how to care best for my hair! She has been doing my hair for 16 years and has just recently opened this salon. I love coming in to her new salon! She has thought of all the perfect touches to make it a relaxing experience including having kindle tablets at each station! My 15 year old daughter sees Teresa, the aesthetician.
