I met Connie on a whim on a Sunday morning almost a year ago. I booked online for a haircut and when I went in to see her we talked a bit about my hair type how I typically style it and the struggles that I feel like I had been having. she asked me if I would consider having a perm. I thought she was crazy. We talked a bit more and I was feeling a bit adventurous and I just felt like I could trust her so I said sure let's go for it. I could tell she knew what she was doing as I was recalling my perm days of the late 80's...I have a sensitive scalp and I had no issues with the application of the products and there was no harsh odors. I was comfortable the entire time. My hair came out so great. I received so many compliments on my hair and no one believed it was a perm because it looked so natural. The perm lasted me a good 6-7 months and then I went back to Connie again in Septemeber for my second perm. I don't usually leave negative reviews--I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, this experience was so dangerous and inappropriate that I felt compelled to share. I have over 15 years of experience dyeing and bleaching my own hair, often using a 30 volume bleach, so I'm very familiar with the process and what is normal. I've also been to multiple other salons in the past for bleaching and coloring without any issues. The stylist used a "highlighter bleach" that caused an intense stinging and burning unlike anything I've ever experienced before. She washed the bleach out with scalding hot water directly on my scalp--something I know is unsafe--and placed a towel over my face during the rinse that she wouldn't let me move. She repeatedly wiped bleach off my face with her gloved hands but made no effort to divert the bleach water away from my ears, allowing it to run into them--I could hear crackling. During this largely silent wash, she suddenly commented that hair oxidizes in the sun and recommended wearing hats. This felt like a subtle nod to an awareness of the damage she was causing, especially the hole in my hair, rather than casual advice, since we hadn't spoken otherwise. Almost every step deviated from proper technique. I have long hair from my temples up, with a brunette undercut below that I specifically asked to leave alone. Despite this, she left bleach on my undercut in uneven patches, freehanding bleach beneath the shave line. She also applied toner only to roots and missed yellow patches, and aggressively brushed and blow-dried my scalp, causing pain that lasted days. A second stylist confirmed I had a painful friction burn and an actual hole in my hair. She never fully neutralized the blue tone I started with or corrected my roots as promised. When I requested a refund, I waited days to schedule it and received no apology--only awkward silence and superficial compliments. read more

horrible it cost me $192 for a clear coat in my hair and a hair cut. she cut 4 inches off my hair no layers didn't trim my bags because I'm growing them out. no layers just had me stand up and cut straight acros. I left so upset and couldn't sleep all night. I have no idea how she stays in business with the cost of doing almost nothing. She should be ashamed of herself for ripping me off. I will say she was a sweet lady and maybe she needs the money for survival. It all seems so suspicious to me that she does hair massage hair removal and more all by hersel. dont go unless you want to basically donate money and still need your hair done after. read more

Best cut and color I have ever had. The owner takes one client at a time so you get personal attention in a calm atmosphere. She listens to what you want and explains the whole process to you. The non-ammonia hair color she uses is the very highest quality and gentle on your hair. She also recommends products for you to use at home to keep your hair healthy and looking great. read more

I can count on one hand the number of stylists that have done my hair that truly treat it as an art form - Connie is one of those people. Connie gave me the best cut and color that I have had in YEARS. I give parameters, but I always go with the mindset that the stylist is the expert. Needless to say... I've been in denial that I needed some length aka dead ends really cleaned up. I was nervous what my husband would think - he has commented multiple times how great my hair looks! The best he has seen in in a while! I am so glad to find an INOA salon again! If the price scares you, trust me - she is incredibly reasonable for the quality and care of services. I went to my usual stylist for years, and after learning that she was moving, I had to find someone new, and fast as I had an upcoming baby shower. My friend recommended I try Studio 6, so I did. I have to say, I was impressed! It really felt like I was truly pampered, and without the atmosphere of feeling like they are squeezing you in between other clients. It was clear that they are passionate about they do and I was really happy with everything. I can't wait to go back in a couple of months. I'm so glad I found someone else who understands my hair. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I would never recommend this salon! I went because it was the only salon I could find that was open on mondays. I went to get a trim. I stressed that I didn't want to lose any length. She told me the cut would cost 65 which is pricey for a trim if you ask me. Then she proceeded to put some oil in my hair then wash and cut it. I HATED my haircut she put in some very short layers. When I went to pay she told me it would cost 85 dollars!! An extra 20 for the oil I did not ask for. I had my hair done two days ago for a baby shower I was attending this weekend. I was extremely disappointed with the results so I called Connie at Studio 6. This salon doesn't even deserve one star. Do not get your hair done here unless you want to be over charged and disappointed. This picture is my hair after I got it done. The highlights don't even begin at my root. I paid 200$ and I hate my hair. And I asked for a bang trim and she told me 25$. That is absurd. When I told her that I didn't like it and I wanted her to re due it she told me no and insisted for me to go outside and look in the mirror so I could see the color in the light and told me she did the highlights where she thought would be best so it didn't fry my hair. I told her exactly what I wanted and it's not what I got. Then she basically booted me out the door as fast as she could with some of her French products that she spent the whole time talking about instead of doing my hair the right way I am not happy. If you are going here because its monday and all the good salons are closed please dont. I went here on a monday after realizing it was the only salon open. I wanted to get my hair trimmed and highlighted. The salon door was locked when I arrived which was my first hint I regretfully ignored. After three hours of anxiety provoking try and fail haircoloring attempts by the salon owner and then getting charged almost two hundred dollars I knew why she locked the door. I left that salon with six inches cut off my hair and no color change whatsoever. If youre looking for more of a spa experience and are ok with being charged lots of money just to sniff french shampoo and to get your head rubbed than this place may be for you. If your actually looking for results for your money dont go here!!! Women work too hard for their money and I would hate to see this happen to someone else.
