I went to their salon in Brandon for my first appointment. My next two appointments were in Riverview. I had Katie Jean for my stylist at both locations. I showed up on time, told her what I needed, made some small talk did not mention politics. Paid what I was charged tipped well and told her that I would be back every three months because I needed a new regular salon. I was back to the Riverview salon twice and for my fourth appointment, which would've been at the Riverview salon. It was canceled two days before. This was for a cut and a collar and a style the whole shebang. No reason given no message I got this on a text. I never did bother to find out why they did that because if they're just gonna do that, that's not someone I wanna do business with. Her styling and cutting at all I have no problem with it was very good but this way to treat a new customer forget it. read more

Been going here for over a year. Stylist is great. Had an appointment scheduled and then had an emergency with my spouse ( ruptured Achilles tendon) it was being casted. So I call and asked if it was ok if I was 30 minutes late. They said "Yes" that's fine. So i literally dropped my spouse off at the door and sped all the way there 5 minutes or less from my house). As I pull in they tell me that the stylist has and appointment at 4 pm and that they could not do the requested service and that they could do half of it. Mind you it's a color and toning. How do you half of that? If I did not want that I would have to reschedule. So I said I would reschedule so I could check with my spouse who has appointments and cannot drive. They sent me a 25 dollar fee for a no show. When I called back and said you guys canceled on me, she girl that answered the phone said yes you are 40 minutes later for your appointment. I said no you sent a text stating my appointment was changed to 1230. I have the texts! Poor customer service from those that answer the phones! Stylist is great does what you ask! Pricing is average for area. I get that the stylist lost an appointment for that date and time and that's money out of their pocket, but if it was going to cut you short on time then say that at the time of the first call not 5 minutes after the rescheduled time when the customer is pulling in. Poor communication, I would have rescheduled and continued to give them my business. But not now. I will find another place to go. I feel sorry for the stylist that have to use the poor front desk staff. read more

Made an appointment a week in advance. The day of they call me to say that I have to switch stylists or reschedule for another day. So I switched stylists. The stylist was doing me and another lady at the same time so I had a temp blow dry my hair which came out looking like my 6 year old had styled it. I love that you are able to book and edit your reservation all online! That was the most convenient part and you are able to choose your time and everything, I love that system! This location is part of a small strip and sits in between a Tae Kwon Do and Heights Meat Market. It is very easy to find. Alexis was great and took great care of me. Bri does my hair and we decided to add some highlights/ low lights along with my gray coverage. I loved it so much. I will say the stylist who sis my highlights did exactly what I wanted as far as the color. My problem was when she put on a moisture treatment without telling me it was an additional charge. She didn't tell me what it was till after it was applied. This was an extra $40 charge. The last time I went the stylist said my hair was very healthy and I didn't need it. Then she trimmed my hair nothing drastic just a quick shape and charged another $45. Extra money charged for a toner as well. I recall seeing in fine print about the extra product such as toner but to add these other charges. The cost for a full head highlights was shown to be $150. When I paid the total was $280 plus gratuity. While in the salon they were trying to upsell a shower head to customers. Although the stylist was very sweet. I have gone to the same hair stylist since 2011 but I have since moved and getting to her has been really difficult. I took some time to research salons in the Tampa area and found this salon and hoped for the best. And I am so happy I did! I was so nervous about going to someone new and I had planned to get about 12 inches off my hair so it was a big deal. I went to their website to read about each stylist to see which would be the best fit and visited their Instagram to make sure their style was in line with my own. I had Caiti cut my hair as one of her specialties is textured bobs. It came out so well!! Not only did my hair turn out great, she was so friendly and encouraging and helped me learn how to style a completely new hair style at home. Everyone at the salon was super nice and the salon itself is beautiful. After leaving I felt so great about my choice in salon and I definitely plan to return whenever I visit family in the area. If this is a new salon to you, I definitely recommend going to their website and reading about each stylist to see what their specialty is and see which might fit you best. I wasn't sure what to expect, explained to her what I was looking for, showed her couple pictures of my past styles, and then held my breath..LOL. Opted for just just a hair cut and no other services. Brittany was quiet and just did her thing, and I was done. She was very polite and we decided to schedule my next appointment with her. I had a great stylist at a really nice salon, someone my daughter went to school with and he was great but he no longer works weekends. He owns the salon so I don't blame him and Good for him work less play harder. If it was possible to leave zero stars, I would. I literally created a yelp account just for this... It first started off with the original stylist I was wanting to see, calling out sick, which is entirely okay and I understand that. However, they called me just hours before the actual appointment time, to tell me this. They then rescheduled me with another stylist two weeks out from that original appointment, and I didn't know this at the time, but it was with someone who didn't have much experience and was new to their shop. I get to the appointment and throughout, the stylist is asking others around her about what she's doing and for help. I was getting a half head bleach and dye on fully virgin hair, and this is how it turned out (pic attached, and this was w/out it being washed, etc). Not only did they not give me what I asked for, but it was all spotchy. (I wanted the underlayer of my hair to be a blue-silver color, which I understood could be hard to achieve, and so I told them if that wouldn't take, then to do a blonde color. I attached another pic of what I wanted and showed to them.) My hair was diffused at the end of the appointment and so it wasn't very easy to see underneath where it was messed up, and so I didn't realize until I got home and checked myself. Now for the phone call... I called the next day and was told that I'd have to talk with someone else about it, and that they would call me back later that day. They did not, and I had to call them again before they closed, and they told me they'd call me tomorrow. They did end up calling me the next day, however were not able to give me the refund that I was asking for, which was just for the bleach and dye payment. I even asked for a coupon for another separate visit instead, or any kind of repayment besides having to go back and have them try again (bc i didn't feel comfortable with them at this point), and was declined. Overall, very upsetting experience. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Made my original appointment, with Brianna. It was changed without my knowledge to a timid new girl, who had no confidence in her abilities & it showed. The girl, who wound up doing my hair could not follow directions. I explained to her, that I wanted my natural hair color, as well as blonde and strawberry blonde highlights, with all the colors going from root to tip. ( See attached photo for finished results). We discussed placement and she went to work. 3 hours later my hair looked nothing like, what we had discussed. The color placement was all wrong & so was the color... 2 more hours later and she had literally fried my hair by over bleaching it and not washing the chemicals out. She tried to skip a step and simply wipe out the bleach. Now, my ends are fried white frizzy blonde. Because of this my hair is still damaged 3 months later. They sent me out the door, with my roots showing, my cut crooked & basically looking, as though I desperately needed to get my hair done! They reassured me multiple times, that they would do whatever it took to correct the damage. Yet, never fulfilled that promise. Sandi, who claims to be the salon owner agreed, that they should correct the mistskes. Alexis, who also claims to be the sole proprietor refused and repeatedly cancelled my appointments, without my knowledge. Either way, no one would take responsibility & I kept getting the run-around, rather than a viable solution. Months later, I finally got the message explaining, that no one at this salon has the confidence to correct the disaster, which they created. So, if you seek something truly: unique, chic & professional, which exudes confidence... GO ELSEWHERE. These people charge $200 for sloppy service & basic styles you can get at SUPERCUTS for a lot less money, with no excuses or serious mistakes. The photo of my results speaks volumes. And, so does the 3 months lip service they gave, while repeatedly blowing me off & eventually blacklisting me. Frankly, any truly professional salon should be able to prevent or at least correct such huge mistakes. But, only complete amateurs offer excuses & blame the customer for such bad results. The purpose of every salon should be customer satisfaction, while each client should actually come out of the salon looking better, than when we arrived! Repeated excuses and blame shuffling simply doesnt cut it for me. read more

Just took my teenage son to the Lucent Salon. My son had very long hair, has been growing it for 5+ years to be able to donate to the kids who need it. So, picking the right salon was important, since it was about a drastic hairstyle change. Britney and Alexis (the owner) did a fantastic job! Not only Britney took time to carefully and professionally cut off the hair for donation, she and Alexis did an excellent job styling it exactly my son had wanted it (he showed them the picture of a model and they replicated it exactly). I showed up for my appointment before they even opened I was desperate! I had Karlee who was amazing and took care of me. She listened and provided her honest feedback about how we could salvage my hair. She talked me through the process and steps and her explanation put me at ease. She even provided informational pamphlets about after care to take home! After a good wash, conditioning treatment, and haircut I left feeling like a million dollars. My choppy hair was blended and looked and felt so soft! I took some products home to up keep the haircut and softness from cutting off a lot of the dead ends.
