Well every yr I go get Carmel or blonde highlights after using box die an I walk out of the salons with what I ask an paid for. She had to put a toner in it so now it's darker. So what I went in for an I paid $85 for an walk out with is nothing close to what I ask for. Cuz now I hav reddish brown an bronze highlights. Also I showed her a pic of what I wanted an how far apart I want my highlights that didn't work out either cuz there to close. A waste of mine an Jaymee time an money.

Not counting tip, the whole shebang was only $30!!!!!!! Also, she didn't hurt my head at all while washing/combing it; previously I'd kinda assumed that a teensy bit of soreness was to be expected getting your hair done. I went here before to another lady though I forget her name, and it was similar price range (I think $40?) and also good. If you've got long hair and like to keep it that way, and live in fear of stylists who'll chop off more than you asked, this place seems like a good choice. They're two for two on keeping my bra-strap length hair about that length. All the different stylists offer different services and charge different prices, so it might be a good idea to call in advance to find out what you're in for. I walked in both times I've gone. Overall prices seem very reasonable though! Right now I have ombre/balayage color that cost me over $300 on the west coast; In the town I was in, basic service of that kind generally starts at $150. I didn't get it here, but I asked my stylist how much that might cost at their place, and she said it started around $85! The salon itself has a nice-looking and comfortable environment for the price range. They sell cute little hair ornaments, and seem to feature a lot of Joico products. Overall, I feel like this place is a hidden gem here in Rockford if you're looking for a classic cut and great value.

I have lived in Chicago for most of those 10 years and there is no one that can color, cut, and blow out long hair better than her. Are you looking for a local Barber that isn't affiliated with a large chain? You can't go wrong…read morewith East State Street Barber Stylists. Having longer hair and trying to let it grow, I don't get it cut too often. The last time I had it cut, Dave from here did it, and he did a fantastic job. He also gave me a hot foam straight razor shave. I had never had one before, so I realistically don't have anything to compare it to, but I will say that I loved it. It was the closest, smoothest shave I've ever had and I will definitely get one again before a special occasion. I was more than impressed by his work. The location of the shop is a little hard to find. It's in a strip mall on State Street and the store front is located between the mall they are in and the neighboring building that houses the Secretary of State's office. Thus you can't see it from State Street. Once you get in and start looking, you'll find it easy enough. The feel of the shop reminds me of one my father used to take me to when I was just a little kid. It has that old time feel; I like that. So guys if you are looking for a barber or just want to try a straight razor shave, you should give East State Street Barber Stylists a try.
