I continue to get my hair done here a few times a year. Just a cut and style (includes shampoo and conditioner). Yelp has a discount when you check in! -- I came here with a Groupon as many others did and it is a DEAL! Making a reservation was easy (as it not always is with Groupon deals at Salons) and I had Cassie as my stylist. She was great! I had a deep conditioning and haircut/style in about 45 minutes which was perfect timing. Cassie was really friendly, did a great job on my hair, and even gave me some great West Seattle foodie tips which I really appreciated since I hardly ventured to that area! Parking on a Sunday evening was easy (right in front of the shop). I will definitely come here again as bang trims are complimentary and Cassie was an excellent stylist. Once upon a time a beautiful princess decided to make her husband go on a far away journey to west Seattle to change her hair and savor the joy of a deal though group on. I made an appointment on a Tuesday for a blow out and flat iron Friday afternoon. I have MD and it's hard for me to left my hands above my head to dry and style my hair. I had a work trip coming up and I wanted it to look nice. I got a text on Wednesday saying that that stylist had something come up and if I could change times/stylist. I followed my stylist, Corinne Honeycutt, to Salon Julian recently and really liked it. There is good energy here - love the decor, people working there are happy and friendly, and it is cozy but not crowded. Parking was a breeze and I noticed that a favorite coffee shop, Cafe Osita, is next door. I am looking forward to my next visit! I lucked into finding Corinne when I moved to Seattle about a year ago. I am not nervous to have an unknown stylist cut my hair, but color is a different story. Corinne listened and asked questions and has done a great job with both my cuts and color. It's so nice to have someone who isn't pushy about what you should do, but also has gotten to know you well enough to provide good ideas for next steps. I have been seeing JJ for years now I found her after having an awful haircut with someone else so I was a bit nervous but she was truly amazing. She has done my hair super dull how I liked it and was very gentle with trims since she knew I was growing it out for years and then when I wanted something crazy (for me at least) she did MAGIC. She is a master at coloring and did ombre for me and I love it. She really took the time to do it right. (and believe me it takes a bit of time when you have a lot of hair) She also did my wedding hair and my bridesmaids hair on location and she was such a great personality to have around for such a fun morning. I've had JJ do my hair for a number of years and she has always worked wonders! She has helped my hair through numerous color transitions - from my natural brown to black to red and to blonde. No matter what color I'm trying JJ has always given me a color that suits my skin tone. Her ability to shape hair is also fantastic. Again, since I like to change my hair a lot she has worked with me to find styles that work for my fine hair, my need for very low-maintenance hair, and cuts that work for my face. She also cuts my daughters hair and does a great job with the different styles my 13-year old wants. JJ is very warm and friendly and cares deeply about her work and her clients. Great place for Halloween prep; not-so-great for the other 364 days. My friend went in for a $200 ombre and came out w/ uneven blond streaks on the left side + brown random spots on the right side + jagged cut in the back by the store manager, JJ. No offer for a refund, only offered to fix it for an extra $100. If it was worth under $10, the mess would have been somewhat understandable; but this was supposed to be worth $200...... come on, now. My ONE redeemed star is for a stylist named Cat. My friend went back in. JJ avoided eye contact & was avoidant, but Cat apologized for the mess & fixed it up into a cute bob. I was considering this place for my own ombre, but........... no. I cannot help but rave about Michele Meyers and what she has done to my hair. First, a brief history: I used to be That Girl with the hair that went down to about four inches above my buttcrack, and would freak out if I had more than an inch trimmed. Michele would dutifully trim just the bare minimum and she would dye my roots as well (hey, it's not easy going grey at 29) and I was always very pleased with the results, because she actually LISTENED. (You very long-haired girls know what I'm talking about.) Fast-forward about a year (this was August of 2008) and a tragic barbecue accident singed a huge chunk off my lengthy tresses. I went to Michele for a cure and she absolutely transformed what was left of my hair into the most chic, amazing short hairstyle I had ever had the privilege of calling my own. She had to cut 14+ inches, and sculpted what was left into a work of art. Strangers -- several a day -- would stop me in the street, DEMANDING to know who cut my hair. I have had women ask me for Michele's number, ask me to take photos of my hair, and when I tell them the barbecue story, it's unanimous: Thank God for that barbecue!! I have since kept my short hair (I'm a short hair person! Who knew?) and now have it even shorter, in a fun pixie cut. Michele absolutely transformed me and I have never felt sexier or more feminine, even with the very short hair. I love it, and considering the barrage of compliments I get on a literally daily basis, I think I'll keep it. JJ's been doing my hair for over 5 years. I got a free coupon to her a long time ago, and wasn't expecting to go to her more than once, but she made my hair look better than it ever has, and I've not seen anyone else since. Every time she cuts my hair I get compliments for months after it is done. Her cuts last for months, and look great even when I go longer than I should. She always knows exactly how to cut my hair based on what I want, if I tell her I want Bridgette Bardot hair, she magically makes that look good for me. I don't use a ton of product and hardly ever even blow dry my hair, but her cuts still look great. She's magic! On top of it all she's an incredible person with a heart of gold and a lot of integrity. I know she would fix something if I didn't like it, but it has never come up because I always love what she does. I really enjoy talking to her every time I see her, but she's also comfortable not talking, which is a trait some stylists can't master the balance between too much and too little. You will feel great about yourself after JJ cuts your hair. I always feel sassy and fun when I leave the salon. JJ's incredible. Although I would never get an ombre hair, which it seems like some others have been upset about, I have a hard time believing she would be anything but kind and gracious about fixing whatever was sub-par. For people who are down-to-earth Seattlites who just want an amazing haircut with an amazing person you will be very happy with JJ. She will be doing my wedding hair too in 1 week, we just did the practice run, and she NAILED IT! read more

Corinne is amazing. She's been doing my hair for a couple of years and I followed her to Salon Julian from another WS salon. This salon is very cute, comfortable, parking is always easy, and the other stylists are very nice (the owner even took a moment to welcome me). Corinne has done Balayage, Keratin, color and cut for me and each service has been great! When I started seeing her my hair was short and unhealthy. It's now healthy and I get complements all of the time. Most importantly, I like that I have a regular routine for my hair focussed on keeping my hair heathy and looking great. I've been to Salon Julian twice now. The first time I had a Groupon and got my hair cut with Carrie which was a great experience! The second time Lester cut my hair, and I was less then pleased with the haircut and the experience all around. Mid way through my hair cut he took 2 phone calls, and then proceeded to rush through the rest of my haircut and styled my hair horribly. I was shocked by the rudeness. It is a salon & spa and is clean with a hip and relaxing vibe. It is in a great location and has convenient parking. Carrie is incredibly sweet, friendly, and professional. She's a great listener and made sure she knew what I wanted before she got started. And she is a genius with scissors!! I have been told that I have incredibly difficult hair to cut (and have had enough bad experiences to believe it)..The end results were spectacular- hands down the best haircut i've ever received. Major bonus- I am floored by their prices. I've paid close to triple for hairstyles at big name salons (think Toni&Guy, Aveda, Paul Mitchell) and never had results as good as these. Paige is amazing. I came in this morning for a brow tint - my second visit with Paige. She did a perfect job making my face look framed and I swear younger! The treatment room is so nice you don't want to leave. I was looking for a reason to prolong my stay. I asked about foot reflexology and gave it a try. The best hour of the week. Tranqulity, aromatherapy and expert care to the areas of my feet that needed attention. I can't describe it, but Paige is a gem. My feet even looked better after the treatment. I just left Salon Julian and I couldn't be happier! Lester was my guy and he was so thorough. I got a men's cut and when I told him somewhat vaguely what I wanted, he took it to the next level and really worked to get it perfect. He walked me, briefly, through his process as we went along so that I knew what was coming and what he was thinking. He was incredibly nice to talk to and he just let conversation happen as oppose to forcing it. I normally get my hair cut every six or eight weeks, but my experience was so awesome that I'll be back every four! In short, I highly suggest him for the guys at the very least! I had the Groupon and live in West Seattle, so this happened out of convenience but I am SO glad I did. My stylist was JJ. I had decided I wanted to go from long hair to pixie cut for the first time in my life. I was pretty nervous. JJ started by just being easy to talk to and personable. I felt like I was hanging out with an old buddy of mine. I didn't really bring JJ a picture of the cut I want 'cause I just thought "Gee, I'll just ask for an inch all over." However, JJ saw something different. She didn't stray from my desire for a pixie cut, but did convince me of what she believed the right cut for my features. She gave me a pixie cut that is SO cute and frames my face PERFECTLY! I've gotten so many compliments and it's only days later. So far I've recommended JJ to my boyfriend's sister-in-law and a co-worker of mine. Also I'm DEFINITELY going to return myself.
