I had a great haircut and I was looking good because of Christopher. He was very professional and got my haircut done with the quickness. I will most definitely be seeing Christopher for my next haircut. read more

Carrie is awesome for men's haircuts. The salon itself is clean and nicely decorated. I would recommend.

Rachelle has been doing my hair for almost 10 years. I get it highlighted and cut, and she does an amazing job. I recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a stylist! The salon's website hasn't been working right, so I schedule her through the Vagaro app read more

Dez is awesome. She is new to this location. I followed her and always happy with her fantastic service. Easy scheduling and convenient opening. Located on 35th ave but plenty of street parking. Cut and color and very happy as usual. Thanks Dez!!! read more

I continue to get my hair done here a few times a year. Just a cut and style (includes shampoo and conditioner). Yelp has a discount when you check in! -- I came here with a Groupon as many others did and it is a DEAL! Making a reservation was easy (as it not always is with Groupon deals at Salons) and I had Cassie as my stylist. She was great! I had a deep conditioning and haircut/style in about 45 minutes which was perfect timing. Cassie was really friendly, did a great job on my hair, and even gave me some great West Seattle foodie tips which I really appreciated since I hardly ventured to that area! Parking on a Sunday evening was easy (right in front of the shop). I will definitely come here again as bang trims are complimentary and Cassie was an excellent stylist. By far one of the best experiences in Seattle after trying 4 different places in the past 2 years. read more

Jennifer has been my esthetician for years now. I moved to Puyallup months ago and always make the drive up for my appointments, I refuse to go elsewhere. Jen is very talented I trust her with everything, she always gives me proper after care instructions. Her section of the salon is very private, warm and inviting, she will make you feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Additionally, a friend of mine who's an esthetician is always mesmerized by my eyebrows after Jennifer does them. Her work literally speaks for itself, you won't be disappointed! read more

Great place, I've seen Jill and Rachael and both are amazing. Easy parking, great salon and great people

I've been going to Corinne for my haircuts and color for over a decade. She's a true professional who is thoughtful about her work and her clients. She's also a kind person and I'll basically follow her anywhere...and the other stylists at Salon Julian seem friendly too! I always get tons of compliments on my hair and I would recommend her highly. read more

I got my consult, haircut, and color with Jen. (JJ) As this is my first time to this salon, I went in open minded but cautious. Immediately, I felt at home and relaxed. She was so positive, friendly, and knowledgeable, I felt at ease in her hands. I asked many questions and I had no idea what to do with the hair I grew out for the past three months. After my consultation, she told me what she planned to do and I could tell by her technique that she had lots of experience. Most places I go to have a hard time with my hair because it is so thick and unmanageable. The atmosphere was tranquil and warm. Thank you so much for my first of many visits to your establishment! You make the travel to West Seattle from Redmond totally worth it! Thank you so much! read more

Once upon a time a beautiful princess decided to make her husband go on a far away journey to west Seattle to change her hair and savor the joy of a deal though group on. The husband sacrificed all that fateful Saturday. Conquering traffic and parking were no small tasks but truly showed his valor in battling sleep on the semi comfortable couch for 3 hours. A'las the princess emerged beautiful and happy and they drive off to the city for a happy hour treat. The moral of the story, my wife liked it...what what matters? read more

Yet another wonderful experience with Megan at Salon Julian. My hair is more healthy and vibrant than ever! And she is great at feeling out my needs and wants, and communicating possibilities. read more

I have been seeing JJ for years now I found her after having an awful haircut with someone else so I was a bit nervous but she was truly amazing. She has done my hair super dull how I liked it and was very gentle with trims since she knew I was growing it out for years and then when I wanted something crazy (for me at least) she did MAGIC. She is a master at coloring and did ombre for me and I love it. She really took the time to do it right. (and believe me it takes a bit of time when you have a lot of hair) She also did my wedding hair and my bridesmaids hair on location and she was such a great personality to have around for such a fun morning. The best parts are that she is always willing to squeeze a bang trim and she tells me that I can go home for a few days and let her know if I don't like anything and she will fix it. read more

Laura has done my hair for years...where ever she goes I will follow! Im a bleach and tone kind of a gal...shes makes it painless, always has great convo & trash mags! I trust NO ONE with my hair, shes my gal! she also styles my hair for weddings and special occasions..she is AMAZING! I always want the pin up look..she nails it everytime..BIG SEXY HAIR! and the morroccan oil she uses, I have to beat my mister off with a stick. If you want big sexy hot hair..go see Laura, you can thank me later ; ) read more

I've had JJ do my hair for a number of years and she has always worked wonders! She has helped my hair through numerous color transitions - from my natural brown to black to red and to blonde. No matter what color I'm trying JJ has always given me a color that suits my skin tone. Her ability to shape hair is also fantastic. Again, since I like to change my hair a lot she has worked with me to find styles that work for my fine hair, my need for very low-maintenance hair, and cuts that work for my face. She also cuts my daughters hair and does a great job with the different styles my 13-year old wants. JJ is very warm and friendly and cares deeply about her work and her clients. I can't recommend her highly enough! read more

Great place for Halloween prep; not-so-great for the other 364 days. My friend went in for a $200 ombre and came out w/ uneven blond streaks on the left side + brown random spots on the right side + jagged cut in the back by the store manager, JJ. No offer for a refund, only offered to fix it for an extra $100. If it was worth under $10, the mess would have been somewhat understandable; but this was supposed to be worth $200...... come on, now. My ONE redeemed star is for a stylist named Cat. My friend went back in. JJ avoided eye contact & was avoidant, but Cat apologized for the mess & fixed it up into a cute bob. I was considering this place for my own ombre, but........... no. Maybe I'll visit on 10/31/14. read more

I made an appointment on a Tuesday for a blow out and flat iron Friday afternoon. I have MD and it's hard for me to left my hands above my head to dry and style my hair. I had a work trip coming up and I wanted it to look nice. I got a text on Wednesday saying that that stylist had something come up and if I could change times/stylist. I could move my day around so I agreed to Friday at 12:15. Friday at 11:15 I got a text saying that stylist had something come up and they were trying to get someone else to come in. Which they could not. And now I don't have time to go someplace else. Seriously people. This should not be this hard. And if it is, DON'T OPEN YOUR BOOKS!!!! read more

I followed my stylist, Corinne Honeycutt, to Salon Julian recently and really liked it. There is good energy here - love the decor, people working there are happy and friendly, and it is cozy but not crowded. Parking was a breeze and I noticed that a favorite coffee shop, Cafe Osita, is next door. I am looking forward to my next visit! I lucked into finding Corinne when I moved to Seattle about a year ago. I am not nervous to have an unknown stylist cut my hair, but color is a different story. Corinne listened and asked questions and has done a great job with both my cuts and color. It's so nice to have someone who isn't pushy about what you should do, but also has gotten to know you well enough to provide good ideas for next steps. She's also great to talk to - the whole package! read more

Such a awesome place. Corinne is the best and puts so much care into her work - not only does she do amazing styles and she's a gifted colorist, but she also cares about the health of your hair. Haven't heard that before. The salon is warm, inviting, and in a great spot right on 35th across from Best of Hands. read more

I cannot help but rave about Michele Meyers and what she has done to my hair. First, a brief history: I used to be That Girl with the hair that went down to about four inches above my buttcrack, and would freak out if I had more than an inch trimmed. Michele would dutifully trim just the bare minimum and she would dye my roots as well (hey, it's not easy going grey at 29) and I was always very pleased with the results, because she actually LISTENED. (You very long-haired girls know what I'm talking about.) Fast-forward about a year (this was August of 2008) and a tragic barbecue accident singed a huge chunk off my lengthy tresses. I went to Michele for a cure and she absolutely transformed what was left of my hair into the most chic, amazing short hairstyle I had ever had the privilege of calling my own. She had to cut 14+ inches, and sculpted what was left into a work of art. Strangers -- several a day -- would stop me in the street, DEMANDING to know who cut my hair. I have had women ask me for Michele's number, ask me to take photos of my hair, and when I tell them the barbecue story, it's unanimous: Thank God for that barbecue!! I have since kept my short hair (I'm a short hair person! Who knew?) and now have it even shorter, in a fun pixie cut. Michele absolutely transformed me and I have never felt sexier or more feminine, even with the very short hair. I love it, and considering the barrage of compliments I get on a literally daily basis, I think I'll keep it. Edit 16 August: Michele is now at the Seattle Style Salon, directly across the street from Salon Julian. read more

JJ's been doing my hair for over 5 years. I got a free coupon to her a long time ago, and wasn't expecting to go to her more than once, but she made my hair look better than it ever has, and I've not seen anyone else since. Every time she cuts my hair I get compliments for months after it is done. Her cuts last for months, and look great even when I go longer than I should. She always knows exactly how to cut my hair based on what I want, if I tell her I want Bridgette Bardot hair, she magically makes that look good for me. I don't use a ton of product and hardly ever even blow dry my hair, but her cuts still look great. She's magic! On top of it all she's an incredible person with a heart of gold and a lot of integrity. I know she would fix something if I didn't like it, but it has never come up because I always love what she does. I really enjoy talking to her every time I see her, but she's also comfortable not talking, which is a trait some stylists can't master the balance between too much and too little. You will feel great about yourself after JJ cuts your hair. I always feel sassy and fun when I leave the salon. JJ's incredible. Although I would never get an ombre hair, which it seems like some others have been upset about, I have a hard time believing she would be anything but kind and gracious about fixing whatever was sub-par. For people who are down-to-earth Seattlites who just want an amazing haircut with an amazing person you will be very happy with JJ. She will be doing my wedding hair too in 1 week, we just did the practice run, and she NAILED IT! read more

I will follow my hair girl Monika wherever she goes....this is the third or fourth place over our 6 year relationship. I have never reviewed any other place she has been until now. I like Salon Julian for a lot of reasons: Easily accessible by public transport Clean, bright & unpretentious decor (this is not a hipster salon). Cute & cozy waiting area with all the right mix of gossip & other relevant mags Useful hair products (Moroccan Oil) will buy next time for sure as it is great on my hair Very friendly staff on the phone and in person Good music in the background Of course, MONIKA...cause she is awesome with my curly locks. Offer more services than cuts/color; like waxing 1 star off for carpeted floor in the bathroom....that just shouldn't be. But darn right, I am a FAN! read more

Carrie is wonderful! I got a fantastic cut and color service today that not only suits me well but is exactly what I want. I'm very picky and Carrie nailed it. Corinne is amazing. She's been doing my hair for a couple of years and I followed her to Salon Julian from another WS salon. This salon is very cute, comfortable, parking is always easy, and the other stylists are very nice (the owner even took a moment to welcome me). Corinne has done Balayage, Keratin, color and cut for me and each service has been great! When I started seeing her my hair was short and unhealthy. It's now healthy and I get complements all of the time. Most importantly, I like that I have a regular routine for my hair focussed on keeping my hair heathy and looking great. I highly recommend Corinne and Salon Julian! read more

Ok, I do NOT usually leave reviews, but had such a good experience that I just have to share. I stumbled upon Salon Julian via social networking, and am super glad I did! It is a salon & spa and is clean with a hip and relaxing vibe. It is in a great location and has convenient parking. Carrie is incredibly sweet, friendly, and professional. She's a great listener and made sure she knew what I wanted before she got started. And she is a genius with scissors!! I have been told that I have incredibly difficult hair to cut (and have had enough bad experiences to believe it)..The end results were spectacular- hands down the best haircut i've ever received. Major bonus- I am floored by their prices. I've paid close to triple for hairstyles at big name salons (think Toni&Guy, Aveda, Paul Mitchell) and never had results as good as these. I will hands down return to Salon Julian in the future- Carrie has made a customer for life out of me. read more

Paige is amazing. I came in this morning for a brow tint - my second visit with Paige. She did a perfect job making my face look framed and I swear younger! The treatment room is so nice you don't want to leave. I was looking for a reason to prolong my stay. I asked about foot reflexology and gave it a try. The best hour of the week. Tranqulity, aromatherapy and expert care to the areas of my feet that needed attention. I can't describe it, but Paige is a gem. My feet even looked better after the treatment. I'm working her into my regular beauty budget!!! I had the best morning in a long time. I then got to see Carrie for a cut and shine- she smoothed my tangles and my hair was beautiful. What a lovely girl. Best conversation and coffee with cream! Can't wait to get back! The salon is comfortable and everything smells and looks beautiful. read more

I've been to Salon Julian twice now. The first time I had a Groupon and got my hair cut with Carrie which was a great experience! The second time Lester cut my hair, and I was less then pleased with the haircut and the experience all around. Mid way through my hair cut he took 2 phone calls, and then proceeded to rush through the rest of my haircut and styled my hair horribly. I was shocked by the rudeness. Overall I would recommend this salon and would consider getting another haircut but not with Lester. read more

I have been a client of JJ for a couple years now and she is amazing! Her creativity and eye for detail makes for an incredible style and wonderful experience. I highly recommend making an appointment with JJ, once you meet her, you will be hooked. read more

I was lost...my former stylist having left for...something else. I traveled on that desperate groupon train for awhile, stopping at every pathetic place along the way. It was like riding the Greyhound bus of hair - thousand yard stares and quiet desperation. And then I found JJ! This was a few years ago now and I always get a great cut and color and lots of compliments. I spend a lot of time in the chair, you know, with my natural hair being grey and unruly. Though I've never gotten a cut from Carrie, she and JJ are great company while the beast on my head is lovingly beaten into something suitable for polite society. read more

I had the Groupon and live in West Seattle, so this happened out of convenience but I am SO glad I did. My stylist was JJ. I had decided I wanted to go from long hair to pixie cut for the first time in my life. I was pretty nervous. JJ started by just being easy to talk to and personable. I felt like I was hanging out with an old buddy of mine. I didn't really bring JJ a picture of the cut I want 'cause I just thought "Gee, I'll just ask for an inch all over." However, JJ saw something different. She didn't stray from my desire for a pixie cut, but did convince me of what she believed the right cut for my features. She gave me a pixie cut that is SO cute and frames my face PERFECTLY! I've gotten so many compliments and it's only days later. So far I've recommended JJ to my boyfriend's sister-in-law and a co-worker of mine. Also I'm DEFINITELY going to return myself. That is saying a lot because this will be the first time in my 30+ years that I've returned to ANY hairstylist. I'm ecstatic I found JJ! read more
