Ashly B absolutely ruined and destroyed my hair. I had long blonde hair down to my waist and I kid you not it all fell out to my shoulders due to how she lightened/lifted it. Awful awful awful. I've spent soooo much time and money and even had to get extensions put in, which are extremely expensive for a 21yr old to come up with extra money for. I've never been so traumatized from a place in my life. I loved my long hair more than anything just for it to be terribly destroyed. PLEASE don't go here. I regret not speaking to my hair dresser before leaving. It's been two years and I still regret not asking her to fix my hair. I walked in with months of grown out highlights that I wanted to cover. I told her I didn't want to go darker, keep my blonde underneath, and simply just make it auburn. I barely go to salons to let them cut my hair but i desperately wanted my hair the same color. I left with that result but the shade was no where close to auburn and basically matched the concrete i parked on. I was a young girl when i received this haircut and had no courage to tell her she did not do what I asked. I hope if I did speak to her it would have been fixed. I just had my first appointment at Salon Evolve yesterday for a cut and highlight. If I could give my experience 10 stars, I would. I was greeted and checked in within minutes of my arrival. While waiting for my stylist, I used the rest room, which was super clean and stocked with essentials. The salon itself was also very clean, bright, and aesthetically pleasing. I love how open and spacious it is. Kali, my stylist, came out to the waiting area to greet me. She was very warm and welcoming. She talked with me about what I wanted to do with my hair, and got straight to it. She was so sweet, calm, and confident. I immediately felt like I was in great hands. During the time I was there (just short of 3 hours), I never felt like I was "waiting." Kali and Jess (salon assistant) were extremely attentive the entire time, and they always made sure I was comfortable! My hair came out exactly as expected, and Kali didn't push any extras on me. I asked her for some product recommendations, and she helped me choose what was best for my hair. I received 15% off the products as a new client. The receptionist offered me an itemized receipt and made sure I knew the total before charging my card. I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the price of my cut and color was! Tipping was so easy, as they have Venmo codes right at the desk. I would highly recommend Kali and Salon Evolve!! read more

I recently visited salon evolve in Royersford for a hair color appointment and left feeling very disappointed. The main issue? The exorbitant prices I was not informed of the cost before hand and was stunned when I went to check out at the desk and learned that the cost for fruit, touchup and highlights without a blow dry cut or style was $224. The salon also has a complete line of their own made productS and it is really pushed. I bought the shampoo and I am guessing that it was $20. upon leaving, I did ask for my receipt, but it was just the receipt for my credit card. I never received a bill of hell the amount of $244 for the shampoo product and color broke down when I called back thinking that they were assuming that I had, a blow dry and cut at that price, they said no they understood it was just the color but that the person that was doing my hair was apparently "a master stylist" I had no idea. I know that it is on me to ask for pricing prior to any haircut, but this was not a high-end salon in New York or Bryn Mawr. This is a salon in Royersford. I mentioned what happened to several of my women friends and they said yes their prices are exorbitant and it is never discussed prior to any procedures performed on a person's hair. Transparency with pricing is crucial and salon evolve failed miserably. In this regard I won't be returning and strongly advise others to confirm prices upfront to avoid similar unpleasant surprises. read more

The worst Salon I have ever used in my life. Horribl-- damaged my hair so bad with over processing just to make money off of me. Management and owner AVOIDED my calls and refused to correct DAMAGED HAIR. I found a NEW PROFESSIONAL salon that had to cut 4 inches off my hair as not salvageable and corrected color as well as needed a deep keraton treatment. Olivia did a great job with my trim and blow dry! Very pleasant and efficient. Nice bright atmosphere inside the salon. Very clean. Will probably go back. Not a big fan of the receptionist who was on that morning. (2/12) She needs to work on being more personable. I don't know if she I'd just an introvert or unhappy but I didn't feel like she wanted me to be there when I came to sign in. And when I was leaving I asked if she could add the tip to my bill and she said "Not unless you have cash or Venmo..." with a dead pan expression like I was asking a stupid question. Then I realized I had forgotten my coupon I meant to use and I asked her if I could still apply the discount since the coupon just said to mention it when booking (which I had). She was very short with me and then said "You can use it next time." I understand needing to have the physical coupon and take no issue with that. It was just her demeanor was so cold and unfriendly. No attempt to be more communicative like "oh sorry but I can't apply it unless I have the QR code, but you are welcome to use it on your next visit." That would have been more helpful. Anyway, it's unfortunate that this is the face of their business because the salon itself is very nice and the stylist I had was great! From the time I walked in the door I was welcomed and offered a beverage of my choice! I was seated promptly at a well lit full mirror station and was very comfortable. After my mens cut I was taken to the low light relaxing hair wash room and received the best wash/scalp massage I've ever experienced!!! BEWARE!! IF I COULD I WOULD RATE THIS SALON A ZERO! This Salon chemically fried off my hair! I asked my Styist (Sara) to perform a balayage on my hair. Only she didn't know what she was doing, was not paying attention and chemically fried off my hair. Returned the following day to have them "try and fix it" only it made matters worse. They still made me pay and my hair still has not been able to grow back properly!! This salon does not know how to treat their customers and I'm constantly reminded of this horrific experience every time I get an email from them. I am so disappointed with the service that my granddaughter received last night. She is 16 with almost waist long blonde hair. This was her 1st time at any salon, and went in to have lighter streaks put in her hair. After her wash, they told her she was done (her hair was literally dripping wet). She asked for a blow dry and was told that wasn't included in the $100 we paid. I said we'd pay any extra, and they blew us off saying they overbooked and didn't have enough time. So what should have been a special experience, ended up being a total fiasco.... especially because we weren't able to see what they had done. When I got her home and blew her hair dry - there were no lighter streaks, they lightened her entire head.... I'm so afraid they may have damaged her hair. I WILL NEVER GO BACK, and highly suggest that you don't either! read more

I would NOT recommend this salon. I gave up on this place after repeated "sloppy" haircuts from my stylist. I actually went back today to have the cut fixed by another stylist. Unfortunately she seemed to completely misunderstand how to cut. I walked out with almost NO hair left --now I do have a short style-but not that short. I asked for it to be tightened up. She cut it off so that it stands up STRAIGHT on the top of my head like spikes. Literally the hair on the top of my head is covered in crooked spikes. They volunteered to "fix" this too--I said there is no way you can fix this-I won't have any hair left. Oh and one more detail that sealed the deal that I will never be back to this salon--the stylist who first screwed up the cut came up to me and confronted me during this trip to get her bad cut "fixed". I've worked with Jen E. for several years now. I even moved out of the area but still see her regularly. I've changed my hair a lot over the years, trying different cuts and colors, and even textures, (curly to straight) and I've never felt that there was something that she couldn't do. All of the stylists at Salon Evolve are continually learning the latest advances in hair care/cut/coloring and it shows in their work. I may have an idea of what I want and Jen will tell me if that will work for me or not. I look to her for guidance and appreciate her candor. She's very patient and wants to make sure that I'm happy with the changes we make. Jen really takes the time to make sure I'm pleased with her work. Being able to effectively communicate with your stylist is a key factor to walking out of a salon satisfied. Too many times, people don't speak up when they may not like something b/c they don't want to offend their stylist. It's YOUR hair! Speak up! Choosing a salon and a hair stylist can be daunting. The business relationship you initially form with a salon quickly turns to a personal one. A great salon will have stylists with varying levels of expertise in their field and each will have their own style. Think of it like a teaching hospital; your shampoo girl today could be your stylist a year from now. You don't want all the stylists to have the same approach to their work. All of us would look cookie-cutter if that were the case! However, all stylists should provide the same level of professionalism. Trying out different stylists within a salon may be necessary for some. Salon Evolve's approach to service is executed very well. Even when Jen was on maternity leave and I frequented another stylist in the salon, I was treated with the same courtesy and professionalism that I received from Jen. I am thrilled that I read the filtered reviews about Salon Evolve. Most reviews were a 5 star rating so, I made an appointment. I was so grateful that my first visit at Salon Evolve started with a 15 min. consultation time booked into the appointment. I find it difficult to explain why I like or dislike certain things about my hair so, I was thrilled when my stylist started asking questions and got the ball rolling. Together, we decided on a highlight, to help camo the grey, a biominoil treatment, and a haircut. I sat with a cup of coffee while I processed and was asked a few times by other employees in the salon if they could get anything for me or if I needed anything. I was updated on when I would be shampooed (which I loved because at other salons in the past, I sit wondering if they remember that I'm there) and then, shampooed in THE SHAMPOO ROOM ( a separate room that is very quiet and relaxing)! My shampoo and head massage were amazing! During my blowdry, we talked about what products and tools I am using at home and which techniques would be helpful to try. I did my hair for the first time and was so proud that I could recreate it at home! I love the Evolve signature products and cannot wait to try a few more! read more
