I'm writing this review because I keep looking at my hair from yesterday when I came in here, and I could literally cry. I didn't even want to leave a bad review because the girl was nice, but after I text her today asking if I could still get the olaplex she said she would give to me to take home for my ends, she never responded.
I first found this place after looking from Yelp, Instagram, and even Groupon. I didn't get a Groupon, but I literally checked every resource I had to find a hair stylist since I recently moved here. I saw steph's instagram photos of her before and after on this one girl that had dark roots like me that went blonde so I started to text her to see if she could do my hair. Mind you I've been blonde (nice blonde not orange) for years now, but the last stylist I went to in sd toned my hair almost a yellowish blonde and I had my roots grown in. Before I even met her I asked a bunch of questions and asked steph if this was something she could do. If she wasn't confident I would have never came. I also sent her multiple pictures of what my hair was (which I loved), what it was now (still light just my roots grew) , my roots, and I told her I just wanted a ashier blonde so it wasn't so yellow. I also stated I hate when you can tell the regrowth looks like a new stylist did it. Basically I wanted it blended because I've been to my old salon and come out happy every time.
She asked me multiple questions and I referred to how my picture was. She asked me if I wanted bayalage, etc. I told her to do her thing I just wanted less yellow blonde and blended hair.. after she washed me, I looked in the mirror and already knew it looked like shit. She started to dry it as I stopped her to keep looking at my hair. I didn't want her to spend her time drying it if I knew I hated it. I saw a warm root, muddle random brown, and lavender.. As I stared forever at my hair, her option was for me to have my root darker, break it up with highlights, or FaceTime my friend to see what I should do. I also don't like when they ask me to look in a book after my hair is messed up... I'm not trying to pic the color when I clearly showed photos. I asked if another stylist can advise her and neither of them said they can see the two lines in my hair. Also said bayalage looks like that.. I'm not a hair colorist, but I am a artist, and I know that hair coloring is a lot of blending and color theory. Which it was neither. She was stating that my hair wasn't bad in real life but in the picture. My husband even stopped by because I wanted to see if I was trippin and he said it looked bad.
After 3 more hrs and highlights and me asking her to tone my ends cuz they were lavender, my hair looked slightly more blended so I wanted to get the hell out of there. I was there 11-6 (no good), my ends are crispy, and my hair is no where near what I use to have. I feel like everything my old stylist did is gone and I'm left with almost greenish tint to my ends and warm roots. Just a thought, it sucks to hear my hair was so dark and the color didn't take like she thought (probably because no bleach was on my root)and the color that my old stylist is different from there's. It's not my fault first of all, and I believe it's the stylists job to know what to use and what colors to mix. I don't understand how people can leave your hair like crap and not respond the next day.
I will not be returning. I'm not the type to blast something so long like this because 2 other salons in my life messed my hair up, but they were nice and responded to me to see if my hair really bothered me the next day. read more
