I cut my hair two days before school started and my "face framing" is chin length and goes all the way around my head while the rest is long. I don't know how someone could mess up this bad, i cant even wear my hair in a low ponytail or braids ( which is my everyday preference) and i now have to walk around with the highest ponytail ever drenched in gel. I have had such good experiences at this salon, the entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. I'm immediately offered something to eat or drink when I enter. I've had my hair done by Keith most recently. He made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. Buyer beware! As long as you are pleased with paying a lot for services that are not always great at Salon de Cheveaux, then things will be fine. But the minute you complain, they get really nasty, so watch out. Don't question a service you receive here, or you will be sorry. I actually teach customer service, and although I don't believe the customer is always right, I do believe the customer should always be heard. Empathy while listening to someone explain why they are displeased, helps you unpack what might have been misunderstood. Perception is reality, and if you can take the time to listen to the customer, you can learn where things may have gone wrong, and improve your business. My encounter today with Laura, the Salon owner, was a most disappointing experience, but leads me to understand the salon's the other negative reviews, why the staff talks about Laura behind her back, why there has been a lot of stylist turnover, and why others beside myself have simply walked away, never to return. There is a reason they are not that busy. Although I have been getting my hair colored for years, and have never had one bad outcome before now, but I had one here on December 21st. First of all, it was a five-hour appointment, starting at 9AM until a little after 2PM. My first two appointments here lasted over three hours, for highlights and a trim that used to always take less than two hours at my other salon. But, I was genuinely concerned when three hours, became five hours that Saturday. But I was surprised and really disappointed with the color, which I expected to be lighter, but stunned my reddish-blonde was an ashy platinum color, not a good match for my coloring nor exactly what we had talked about. I felt this was a total misunderstanding and poor judgement on the colorists part, and I left upset but I was quiet. Besides the worst was the fact that my hair had clearly been over processed, and was quite distressed in the back, especially the bottom two inches. But I lived with it, trying to wash the color out over the holiday since I had family arriving, the salon was closed and I was trying to see if it would get better. This morning as the salon opened, I called to talk to Laura as the owner, and to ask if I could come in at some point to get the ends trimmed off at least, as I am leaving for a vacation. Both on the phone, and in person at the salon, Laura was quite rude to me, interrupting and correcting my perception of the situation, telling me that the stylist who did it, plus the stylist who consulted on it, and Laura herself although she wasn't there, all felt it was the same process that I had received before, there were no errors, that I had actually requested this in order to not have to "see them" as often for touch ups. Yikes! How wrong can you get? Remember, not once did I ask her for a refund, or for her to "fix" the color. I already had felt that they had processed it way too much. But I had been told by the stylist when I left on the 21st that I had earned a free haircut on their "rewards program", so I was asking Laura to trim my dead fried ends with that haircut credit. Laura offered some chemical treatment for free but quite frankly, I didn't trust her, plus her total lack of empathy and disrespectful customer service made me want to just get away. I was hoping for a real conversation about what might have happened, and that we both might have learned something, however she was too busy defensively correcting and interrupting me to truly listen to anything I had to say. Great customer service! I found another salon after I left there that could "see" the damage today, and will help with a cut and remedy before I leave for vacation. There are better salons with true empathy in Temecula! read more

I went into the salon last month with Desiree. When I arrived, the girl at front desk told me she had left already and rescheduled me for a couple days later. I understand mistakes with scheduling happen sometimes so I was okay with rescheduling. A few days later, I came back in for an appointment for a womens cut with Desiree. She asked what I was wanting to do. I was wanting a 1 inch trim, a subtle face frame, and long layers. She seemed to understand what I was wanting when I showed her multiple photos and described what I wanted, she took me to the wash bowl and told me if I leave a review for her on yelp, she'd give me a free conditioning treatment right then and there. (Strange to ask someone for a review when you haven't completed the service but okay) I said okay but was waiting until after she completed the service to submit any sort of review. After washing my hair, I was feeling so put-off by her demeanor, so I let her know I would just skip the long layers for that day and do the 1 inch trim and subtle face frame (just like the pictures I showed) She agreed. She proceeded to cut way more than 1 inch off of my hair ( More like 2-3inches), once she showed me how much she cut off, I was internally upset but knew the damage was done and I brushed it off because at the end of the day, hair grows back. Next, she proceeded to start with the left side of my hair to do my subtle face frame, after about a few minutes of her cutting, i noticed she was cutting A LOT. She turned me around to show me and it looked extremely choppy. I'm aware it sometimes can look different when wet... but I asked her to not do such a drastic face frame on the other side. She argued that she needed to mirror the same on the other side but I told her the face frame on my left was a little too much for me and to just do a very subtle one on the right. Again, I knew the damage was done so I remained calm and polite but truthfully, was wanting to just leave at that point. She deeply sighed as if i was upsetting her and remained quiet the remainder of the time. She ended up drying and flipping / curling out the ends of my hair and it definitely wasn't what I asked for but at the end, it looked decent so I paid and left. I've now washed my own hair, tried straightening it, etc. and the cut is completely choppy. My friends and family members have all asked if I cut my own hair/what happened etc. I'm now having to wear it up in order to hide the choppiness. I'm an extremely understanding person and have been in the service industry myself & usually never complain but I'm very upset at this entire experience. I'm attaching a photo of my hair before and after so you can see for yourself. UPDATE: The owner contacted me after I posted my review with of my experience and offered to refund me and give me a complimentary service if I would take down the review. What would a complimentary service do for me? My hair was/is completely chopped already... I had previously contacted the owner about my experience and it seemed pretty brushed off until I made this review. Unfortunately, it seems all this business cares about is their technically paid for reviews and not their customers actual experiences. read more

So for years I've always gone to the same place to get my hair done and have always been happy with how it comes out until several months back when I left looking like I lost a fight with a lawn mower. That when I found Salon de Cheveux. I called and explained my situation and was told to come in immediately and they squeeze me in to help when and however they could.
