Christi was phenomenal! I came here from out of town, and I swear I think I would fly back here just to have her do my hair again. After not dying my hair for over a year professionally and using a box (stupidly, but I was broke) I made an appointment when I was in town after sadly staring at my horrific roots in the mirror. You know what they say, happy roots happy life. My life was spiraling out of control, I figured it was about time to get it together. Set an appointment, came in at 1 pm and was out at 4:15. My hair has the best dye job I have ever had, was silky smooth, and my layers she trimmed and blew out for me had me flipping my hair around the rest of the day. My man thought my hair was so gorgeous he actually said "wow honey, how often do you need to get your hair done?" "Every 6-8 weeks babe." "Alright we're getting your hair done every 6-8 weeks." You can't put a price on that.... My service for a full head of highlights, shampoo, trim, and blow out was $280 plus a tip. Worth every penny. I saw Michelle yesterday. Michelle is such a great stylist. She's the best! And she's so flippin' nice, too! Right now I'm growing my hair super super...SUPER long. ***There's a special way to cut long hair... so it looks good while you keep growing it out and Michelle is a certified master at it.*** This is something Michelle is great at: she can take into consideration that I'm growing out my hair, so I need a special cut that looks good without the monthly maintenance medium/short cuts get. I never bring in pictures anymore... I really just speak about lifestyle or mood when I ask for a cut. For example, in the past, I've been able to tell her I need a cut that I can just air dry Monday-Friday. Another time when it was 10,000 degrees outside, I told her how heavy my thick hair felt, but that I wanted to keep the long length. She put thinning shears to it and at the end of the cut---I still had really long hair, but she thinned it down. She's basically a magician. Yesterday, she cleaned up the entire style with long layers, and trimmed my bangs to a side-swept style. I love my hair! ((I haven't done a short cut with Michelle in years, but when I first started seeing her in 1998, that's all we did. She's really great at those, too.)) read more

Luz has mastered color, highlights and the art of blow drying. I have never been happier. She is personable, and will guide you in the right direction. I always walk out of the salon feeling beautiful. The prices are comparable for the area. Honestly, I think it is wise to go to a great salon, and find someone that is the best at their craft and pay a little extra. Your hair is important. This is not the time to find a bargain hair salon, in my humble opinion. There is plenty of parking at the mall (Tysons II). I usually park near the entrance to Legal Seafoods and take the escalators down to the first floor (near Anthropologie). I started going to Salon Cielo at the advice of my cousin, who goes to Dinh. I've been going to both Ding and Fa, depending on the day, and they're both wonderful. I don't know how the other stylists are, but both Dinh and Fa are excellent, and they do the most amazing blow dries I've experienced anywhere. Granted, my hair isn't particularly tricky, but I recently trusted Fa to chop my really long hair off to chin length, and I was very happy with the results. He also does free bang trims for his customers for upkeep between haircuts, which is a nice bonus. And Dinh didn't yell at me for trimming my own bangs when I didn't have time to stop by the salon! The prices at Cielo are pretty reasonable for the salon's location in Tyson's Galleria, and it's usually easy for me to get a same-day appointment if it's on a weekday. And of course, the advantage of going to a salon in the mall is that you can go shopping while you wait for your appointment time. read more

I had the worst hair experience I have had in years. When I made the appointment, I explained that I wanted a trim, a deep conditioning treatment, blow dry, & flat iron. First, I got more than a trim. I explained more than once that my hairs grows slowly and the I am trying to grow my hair out, so hair cutting would not be to my benefit. I also explained that I only want my hair trimmed and that I do not want it cut into a style. I want it to just grow naturally. After the stylist completed the cut, he claims he "only" cut about a half inch of my hair. I noticed right away that it appeared he cut it in a form and in some areas he cut more than half an inch. I consider a trim a dusting to about a 1/4 inch. My hair was not and is not damaged. I regularly maintain my hair, so not much more than that was needed. I only went here because I would not be able to see the stylist I had been seeing until a few months down the road and it had been 11 weeks since my last trim, so I needed one. Second, I was assured that this stylist would blow out my hair beautifully and that flat ironing was not necessary. If that was the case, I would not have left the salon with big hair and I would not be prepping to blow dry and flat iron my hair this morning because my roots are so tough to comb. I asked the stylist was he comfortable with my hair type and explained that I do not use chemicals, before he even washed my hair he said next time we will do a relaxer and I had to say NO, I don't use chemicals. For the service I received this stylist ripped me off for $130. $35 was for an Olaplex treatment, $85 was for the trim, shampoo and blow, and $10 was for the tip. I have been so upset since I left there yesterday and I really don't want to even look at my hair. I feel taken advantage of. I feel sick because this stylist has reversed some of the progress I made over the last two years. I am praying that what he did doesn't not continue to send me down a reversal track. I also feel the salon doesn't understand the impact of service like this. If you have goals, this is not the salon for you. I wish I could give the experience I had yesterday something less than one star! read more

Salon Cielo is in Tysons II on the first floor. I made an appointment at Salon Cielo with Lexy and I definitely enjoyed my first experience there. I came in a few minutes before my appointment, and did not have to wait too long before she was finished with her client. I went in for a balayage. I already had highlights that outgrew the roots and needed her to fix that. After discussing the color and look that I was going for, Lexy created a mix for my hair. I was a bit nervous since I've never done balayage, but Lexy was great to talk to and she checked in on the color a few times to make sure everything was turning out the way it should be. Turns out, the color came out great! I was really happy with the color and it complemented my skin tone and base hair color as well. She also trimmed my bangs really well. I usually get very particular about my bangs and expressed to her exactly what I wanted. she was great in working with me and let me know what she was doing as she was cutting them. I've already made an appointment to go back for coloring and bang trim. I highly recommend her for hair color and cut. I usually call in ahead and make sure my schedule matches up with her availability, and she's very accommodating. read more

Positive review for Color finally!! It took me almost 6+ years (see my other salon reviews) to find a salon I love and an amazing colorist. Salon Cielo is located in Tyson Galleria adjacent to Legal Seafood. The salon is small but not uncomfortably so. There's room to move around between color and hair wash. Sarah is my stylist and she is AH-mazing! She's super organized, timely, detail oriented and overall just awesome. She does not miss a single strand. Her highlights are in perfect uniform, no bleed marks, beautifully blended, color that's rich and she delivers consistently every time. You are not going to go and then next appointment be scared that she did not write down your color mixtures and leave with something different. I always leave the salon with beautiful hair and color that lasts. She's been able to maintain the integrity of my hair after a long series of mishaps at other places. I scheduled an appointment for balayage and color with Christi. I brought in several pictures of exactly the style I was looking for during this appointment, all of which were significantly darker than what I came in with. While many of them were inspiration, some were past images of my actual hair -- which means I wasn't chasing after some unrealistic fantasy that isn't do-able. It's BEEN done on MY hair! After showing her all these she got to work on my hair and all seemed to be going well. About halfway through the blow-dry I kept waiting to see the dramatic change. When she finished, it looked nearly identical to when I came in -- absolutely no change in darkness; it was actually almost lighter due to the amount of highlights put in. I spoke up and she was kind enough to offer to correct it on the spot. When she explained how she was going to correct it (simply paint darker color on the roots), I immediately voiced my concerns that it sounded like it would be very disjointed with dark roots and light ends. She, the expert, assured me it would blend well so I took her word on it. Well, as you can see in the pictures of the end result -- it turned out very, very disjointed. Dark on top, but super light throughout the bottom. It looks like two completely different hair color styles. I love the darkness on top but wanted that ALL OVER with some subtle balayage highlights througout. Instead I got the poor man's version of an ombre. Here's the thing, I paid almost $400 for this. She was very clear about the cost up front which I appreciated and had no issue with. This is Northern VA, I know what to expect and was happy to pay that to get the results I wanted. I was NOT happy to pay that to leave with my hair looking the same which is why I felt the need to speak up after the first results. In hind-sight, I almost wish I hadn't -- what I left with was 10x worse. In the future, if a client isn't happy with the results, I would not recommend having them do a "rush" fix on you. It was clearly not thought through and now I'm left having to pay even more money for someone else to fix this. read more

Thank God for Darrell. Seriously. I love him. I want to have his babies. They'd have amazing hair (and gorgeous skin). As most of you know from my other salon review, I'm a stickler for good hair care. When I find a stylist I love, I stick with that person forever until circumstances change. Well, recently they did (old stylist moved) so I was forced to find someone in the nearby area. Darrell came highly recommended from a Caucasian friend so I was pretty skeptical at first. But she assured me that Darrell (who is black) could also bang out some serious African-American hair which she'd witnessed herself. I couldn't be more thrilled with Darrell when I met him. I advised him of my concerns (the fact that I'm completely inept when it comes to black hair care), my future goals for my hair (health then length), and my overall daily routine. Darrell is highly trained in his craft which I love, and he's consulted with a few hair care lines--especially the ones that he works with in the salon--so he knows the ins and outs of how they work. I've never had a relaxer that took six steps to complete, but those six steps were worth it because at the end my hair was soft and swingy. I also have a fear of letting others use scissors around my head--no worries with Darrell, he knows what he's doing and gave me the perfect layers that gave my baby fine hair the perfect volume and body. What I love most about Darrell is that he's all about a hair care plan. My last stylist did great hair, but she didn't really listen to my concerns about needing someone to TEACH me how to do my hair in between salon visits, and do what it takes to achieve my long term hair goals. Darrell talked to me about black hair care for dummies and because of him (and the purchase of a high end flat iron), I no longer need to visit the Dominican Salons for bi monthly maintenance in between relaxers. Darrell even gave me his personal number to contact him with any questions, which I thought was pretty awesome and considerate. The overall price for the touchup relaxer, trim and style was about $125--a bit pricey from what I'm used to paying but most definitely worth it. Another thing I like--the appointments are personal...so you're not sitting there for 5hours like at a lot of African-American salons. You're appointment time is YOURS...maybe when you're under the drier the stylist might step away to do a quick trim, but my over all experience was 1.5-2hrs which I LOVED! read more

I read rave reviews for Luz here on Yelp, saw the beautiful uploaded photos. Went to Salon Cielo last November, hoping for a nice new do. I have pretty thick and long hair and just wanted some layers for a more voluminous look. I did not want more than an inch trimmed from the bottom, and communicated this very clearly. I left with hair SO MUCH shorter than expected - I was utterly mortified and even considered getting extensions. The layers were beyond awkward and choppy. Ended up spending another arm and a leg getting the layers evened out and softened. I really wished that things would have gone right because she was SUCH a doll, so sweet and gorgeous. How unfortunate. I felt really misled by the reviews here on Yelp. I debated writing this review for awhile because she was so sweet, but here it is. My hair has finally grown out to the pre-haircut length. Thank God. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Save your money and do your hair a favor. After reading good reviews, I decided to give this place a shot. When I called I was very specific about what I wanted. I asked for a subtle change to my current color by using ashy blond to give a balayage effect. I have had this done a dozen times in my home city but haven't been home in awhile. When I got there I explained exactly what I wanted. Halfway through I begin to smell bleach. It turns out the stylist was bleaching my ENTIRE head! I didn't know if I should have her stop or keep going so I had her pause so I could think about it because I have never bleached my hair as my hair is extremely healthy and take extreme pride in ensuring it is never damaged. In the end, I had the stylist finish because I had a meeting the next day and did not want to look ridiculous. After further digging, I found out the stylist has only been working for a month and "thinks" the only way to give a balayage effect is through bleach. Ummmm NO! This occurred in mid-August and have waited to write a review because I wanted to do some research and there was another issue... I was over charged. My receipt states $150. My card was charged $210. The next day, I went into the salon with my receipt and the staff was very surprised by this and said they would fix the issue ASAP. I received a call the next from the stylist who ruined my hair and she said she told me the service will be $210. NO SHE DIDNT! I now realize there is some sort of scam going on. Check you receipts! It is bizarre for the receipt not to match your CC bill. Additionally, my hair is now falling out, breaking, dry and totally damaged. I know it is just hair, but it is embarrassing to have clumps of hair falling out. So I have contacted Cielo Corporate twice at this point and no response. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: I went here for a relaxer, and I loved it! I'm a white girl who gets her hair relaxed (yes, we exist), and I've been searching high and low for a stylist around here who can do a relaxer without burning me. In my experience, white-girl salons don't know how to do relaxers, and black-girl salons do it too harsh. I called this salon after reading good reviews about Darrell, only to find that Darrell doesn't work there anymore. But the receptionist said that there are other people there who do relaxers, and I heard a stylist in the background say enthusiastically, "Oh yeah, I do relaxers." I felt good about the appointment, and was not disappointed! My appointment was with Kris. She used the relaxer brand that I asked for (Mizani Sensitive), unlike other stylists I've been to who think they can use a different one or a stronger one as long as they're "careful" (they were wrong). My hair was pretty dirty, but she oiled up my hair really well in addition. She didn't do the roots right away to avoid burning me, and as soon as I said it was getting itchy, she took me to the shampoo station. The shampoo woman was awesome too. She put a hot towel under my neck during the conditioner, and gave me a good head massage, rubbing my temples with her palms and such. You can expect a very high level of service here. Kris then styled my hair and it looks fabulous. She explained the products she was putting on my hair, and set them down so I could look at them and see what they were, but didn't push me to purchase them. My hair is beautiful, shiny, and STRAIGHT! My scalp is conditioned and not burned! Everything you could ask for in a relaxer. The price was a little steeper than I would like to pay (it was more than twice what my JCPenney's stylist in Texas charges), but I think it was well worth it and was pretty reasonable for this area. It is in line with other places I've been to around here where they burned me and didn't provide as high a level of service. I will definitely be back to this salon, especially with Kris! read more

I rarely give five stars but in this case I definitely feel it is necessary. I have been at war with my hair for as long as I can remember. I love going to Michelle H not just because she is super cool and fun to talk to but because I feel like no matter what she does I always leave feeling like a million bucks (and on this salary that is pretty awesome :) Michelle always goes the extra mile and I love that. I don't feel like she is rushing me or pressuring me. She makes suggestions and if I like them I like them and if not no big deal. LOVE that! Michelle has my business for any and all services involving hair and she gets that my hair is curly! She has put in some pink extensions, done an updo, blow dried straight, curled for my birthday (got tons of compliments-) and now colors my hair. I really trust her and she is a true artist. Came here yesterday 12/11/2016 and had my hair done by the lovely Michelle Novak. She greeted me with a warm smile and took her time to actually listen and consult with me before touching my hair. I don't know about anyone else, but I always take a look at the stylist before moving forward and doing anything crazy/drastic with my hair because your stylist should understand your style and the look you are going for, and also have beautiful hair! Michelle was so cute and the blonde color in her hair looked very healthy and voluminous. I felt like my life aka my hair was in good hands *In my All State voice* I was undecisive and soooooooo bored with my brown hair but we went over pictures and different styles I could do with my current base color and length of my hair. I couldn't go full blonde as I have in the past because I wanted to keep my dark eyebrows (Which she reminded me of, and I am so thankful because I would have looked crazy walking around with blonde hair and black eyebrows - what kind of person would let you walk out like this? You don't need that kind of negativity in your life) She proceeded and I couldn't be happier! She made sure I understood that my highlights would get lighter after several washes. I had a wonderful experience at Salon Cielo. I read up on some reviews here before making an appt. I requested Christi and I am so glad I did. I arrived right at my appointment time and did not have to wait at all. All staff members I encountered over the visit were very nice. I had (pretty much) virgin brown hair to the middle of my back that was very dead on the ends. I came to Christi with a few pictures of long bobs with balayage and we talked about them for a few minutes before deciding which one might be the best model for what I was aiming for. I wasn't entirely set on exactly what I wanted before I went in (mostly on how blonde and how short I wanted to go), but talking through them with her was a huge help in making a decision. I also appreciated that she did not come off as judgy when she saw how dead my ends were or when it was obvious how noob I was at hair. I was there for just under 3 hours for cut, color, wash, treatment and styling. I never felt like she was rushing through the process at all- it was very obvious she was meticulous with her work. When she styled my hair, she walked me though some quick and easy ways to curl and style my hair for everyday wear. Christi was also fun to talk to and down to earth. The price was very fair for the area (especially considering some of my friends pay close to or upwards of $400 for the same type of work). I got exactly the look I was hoping for when I first came in. I was extremely pleased with the whole experience and even more pleased with the results. read more

Salon Cielo was recommended to me by my roommate. When I first called to make an appointment, I went with whatever stylist was available and that happened to be Dinh. I've been going to him since - about 3 years now - and absolutely love him! He does everything I ask him to, and he does it perfectly! I know some stylists cut too much off when you say you just want a trim - not Dinh! He really listens and I think that's important. I especially appreciate it because I am getting married in 3 months and have been trying to grow my hair out as fast as possible! Everywhere I go I get compliments on my cut and highlights! So much so that I now have a stack of his cards in my wallet to hand out whenever someone asks where I go. Highly recommend! Salon-wise, it's a bit pricey, but I will continue to pay as long as my hair keeps looking great. A partial highlight and cut runs me $140 and a full/cut is $165. Edit 9/2011: Just wanted to say I'm still going to Dinh, still getting compliments, and still handing out his business card to random strangers! He really is the best. I've been to this salon twice now and so far so good:) It is pretty easy to get an appointment, it is a very clean and reasonably priced salon. The first time around I just got my hair cut by Michelle, she did a great job and was very nice. I was growing my hair out at the time so I just got a trim. Today I got my hair cut and highlighted by Sonia. I didn't turn out exactly how I expected it to, but regardless it looks nice. My only complaint is, when I called to schedule the appointment the woman who answered the phone sounded really rude, and it was hard to understand her. I asked about how long it would take for a cut and highlights (I also explained that I have pretty long, dark hair) and she told me a half hour. I knew there is no way it would only take a half hour.. It took an hour just to get the foils in my hair. I know the time it takes to do someones hair really varies, but that was not even close.. read more

I went to Salon Cielo at Tysons II for almost four years now for trims and highlights, but I won't be going again. My first appointment was in 2008 with Luz, who did a very poor job, and I had her redo it. Next time I tried the Arlington location with Van (I think) who didn't really understand the concept of blending, and I had a big blonde patch at the front of my hair. They finally linked me up with Lucy in Tysons, who is, I believe, a manager. She did a great job and has for several years, except for a couple of times I wasn't happy with the result and had her fix things. I think she's very skilled, but I'm not sure the whole experience is worth what you pay. The staff are generally not terribly pleasant, and it's not an environment that engenders a sense of welcome. After a few years of not great experiences, I had my last appointment in September 2011. Lucy somehow mixed up the appointments and made me wait for over an hour. I kept checking in with the front desk and was sitting right behind Lucy's station, but she completely ignored me and made only a small apology when she realized her mistake. I feel that if you're going to ask customers to pay between $150-$200, you should at a minimum have good customer service. I'm going elsewhere from now on. read more

I've had mixed results here. I went to Luz with a photo of the haircut I wanted and I was very unhappy with the results. A couple days later, Lucy (the manager) re-cut my hair for me (at no charge) and I was much happier with the results. I went back to Lucy for haircuts twice since then: the first time I absolutely loved how she cut my hair and blow dried it. But the next time, she did exactly what I said I DIDN'T want with the cut. The salon definitely feels like a mall salon (which it is), rather than an upscale salon. The upshot is that the prices are reasonable and they carry good products like Kerastase and Bumble and Bumble. read more

I've been here twice from friend's recommendations. The first time, I had a lady cut my hair and it was a so-so experience. There wasn't any thing spectacular about my cut, and I was hesitant to come back here again. The second time, I decided to try a male stylist, and I opted for Phillip. I wanted to get a cut and ombre hair coloring. I'm not a person that normally colors my hair either, so I was taking a big-risk in the color department. I showed him the picture of what I wanted, and explained to him that I want my hair to be EXACTLY this color. He said, ok, and an hour later my hair looked amazing!!!! From the cut down to the color. I mean it was exactly the cut and color that I was envisioning! I'm definitely coming back here again!!! The place is pretty busy on the weekends. Extremely reasonably priced for being in Tysons Galleria. Everyone seems pretty friendly. I do agree with the other reviewers that the reception area is a little lacking in friendliness though. If you have "ethnic hair", this is not the place for you. I was on the fence after reading the reviews, but gave it a try since it was close to my job. I asked the receptionist to make an appointment with someone who could do 'natural' hair. I'm AA and usually where my hair out and curly. She promised me the person know what they were doing. Day of and I'm nervous so I call to double check my appointment and stylist. I ask the man who answered the same Q. He gives the PC answer " yes all of our stylist should be trained in every and all ethnic hair types. So I say, I understand they should be but does this person know how to style natural hair? He promised, yes, yes. Long story short, no no! It was all wrong from the beginning. Worst part is the person they assigned me to was one of the senior stylist. The person was very sweet and I tried to coach them but they insisted on using techniques that do not transfer to natural hair. I paid, but I wasn't happy and I'm sure it showed on my face. This will probably be my new salon for haircuts. I get a really simple long-layered cut with angled front layers, so it's not super hard to do. Loan was responsive to my request that only 1.5" be cut, thorough, and super efficient. I was in and out of there in 30 minutes once I mentioned that I was on my lunch break - didn't feel rushed, it was just a very efficient wash, cut and dry. I was pleased with the whole experience. Only thing to note is that prices have generally been increased $5 compared to what's listed on the website - still very reasonable for the area, but looks like the website has just not been updated recently. read more

She is adorable and sweet and seems to be a ball of energy. She gives good product recommendations and she doesn't pressure you into making choices that you don't want to (about your hair, about products, about anything!). I read the reviews and decided to schedule an appointment with Kris. Let me first say that I am super picky and critical about my hair and Kris more than came through for me. I scheduled a color cut and highlight and walked out with gorgeous hair. I've already scheduled another appointment when I'm back in town with her and honestly can't wait. She took the time to listen to my needs and guide me through what would work and what wouldn't. My hair is super processed and coarse which I know can be challenge for most stylists. She made me look amazing and my confidence was through the roof! I received so many compliments that it was a little embarrassing for me since I'm not used to all the attention. Thank you Kris! Also a side note- I found out from a friend who is a waiter that if you add tip when you use a credit card it gets claimed directly to any service industry person's salary so bring cash to make your stylist/waiter/bartender extra happy when tipping. I went in for a haircut and Keratine with Luz. I arrived early and everyone greeted me and pampered me with water and tea during the whole visit. Luz was great at cutting my hair just in the right way, and took great care and effort while applying the Keratine. I've had it for a couple of weeks and my once curly hair is completely straight and bright. Luz was very kind and had interesting conversation during such a long process which would normally be tedious to me, but it felt really fast and comfortable. The whole experience was completely worth the money and the trip from DC, accessible by metro too, making it comfortable. read more

Horray!!! I have finally found a salon that I am happy with. I decided to take a risk on Salon Cielo and boy, was it worth it. My hair is long and very thick and the stylist who cut my hair did a great job. She cut and styled it so that it was easy to maintain but still kept its length which was my primary request. Its such a relief to finally find a salon that works for me. The shampoo, cut and blowdry was $50 but that was because my hair is very long. It may be cheaper for shorter hair. Loved my experience and I am now a happy camper. Best part is that I live 5 secs away from Tysons Galleria. So convenient. read more

Yesterday was my first time at Salon Cielo and I saw Luz because she had a bunch of positive reviews. She was amazing! This is seriously the best haircut I've had in my life. She was super friendly and listened as I explained that I wanted to keep the length of my hair but give it more shape. That's exactly what she gave me! Even the shampoo was above average as the woman who washed my hair gave me a really nice scalp massage and placed a lavender scented hot towel under my neck to help me relax. DON'T GO HERE!! I made an appointment to go get a blowout done, I have a few events that are coming up this weekend and knew I wouldn't have time to do it on my own. Lets just say I would've been better off doing it my self. I went over during my lunch break to go get this blowout, the lady that was shampooing my hair was a very sweet woman but she kept splashing the side of my face by the time she was done my ears were filled with water and the side of my face wet(I have to be back at work so having half off my foundation off is not what I was looking for). That's fine it happened can't do anything to change it now. After that my stylist Justin came to get me, he seemed like a nice man but didn't really communicate with me. I tried to explain to him that I have events this weekend and need to make sure that my hairstyle has to stay, he nodded his head and said okay. Now just to give you an idea, my hair is pretty thick and I have had lot of blowouts, for this type of texture you can't use a small round brush, you just can't. I watched Justin take the small round brush and he started drying my hair with this, a few seconds later my hair was stuck on the brush and he struggled to take it out, he kept tugging at it until it finally came off the brush. I didn't want to tell him how to do his job but I knew that I couldn't let that happen again, so I told him that he should use a larger brush for my hair type, he ended up using one size larger(still getting my hair tangled). When he was finally done it didn't even look like a blow out, he left my hair frizzy with poor excuse for curls . I expressed to Justin that I was extremely unhappy with it and he didn't even acknowledge my concern. I've been to many salons before and have never experienced this kind of service, this sorry excuse for a blowout cost me $50, I should've just done it myself. My suggestion to anyone thinking about coming here, go somewhere else. I am extremely unhappy and can't believe it have to rewash my hair and do it again because I can't go anywhere looking like this. read more

Dinh is the most amazing hairstylist I've ever had. He gave me the perfect cut everytime. 10% of the time spent on cutting (he was so fast and precise), and 90% giving me the best blowdry of my life. I'm talking multiple 3 inch round brushes in my hair, while getting it completely straight. Since moving out of VA, I havent seen him. But I once scheduled an appt with him, just because I was visiting DC, last year. read more

I walked into Salon Cielo on a Saturday evening with no appointment and the goal of taking all the crazy color out of my hair. Fari took me in and did her magic! I went from having 5 different highlights to the perfect, auburn brown I was looking for. Fari was kind, friendly and very catering towards my needs. I called 2 hours before they closed on Halloween hoping to get a last minute appointment to correct a ridiculous haircut I thought I could give myself. I was scheduled with Sonia. Thinking she was going to ridicule me on how silly I looked, she was so nice and accommodating. She didn't seem rushed or inconvenienced that I was thrown in at the end of her day. She gave me exactly what I wanted and made me feel great. My only critique is that the salon smelled like dirty mop water.. it didn't bother me but it's a very strong, unpleasant smell as soon as you walk in the door and I can see that being a turn off to the high end folks of Tyson's Corner. Salon Cielo is terrible - really awful! I should have gone to a $5 barber shop. I would have been given a better cut. I went to Salon Cielo for a second time last week. My first experience was bad, so I should have known better. The first time was about 6 months ago. The stylist gave me a cut that lasted about a week. It did not look right, though I passed it off as a one-off issue and months later decided to try again. The stylist was a nice guy, so I will not name him. However, this is the worst cut I have ever had. It is uneven on the back. The rest of my hair is also uneven making it appear as though my hair is thinning in place. It is just terrible and in my opinion appears to have been the work of a hair cutter with no experience. It is so bad, that I have been asked by a number of friends: "What happened to your hair". This place is so bad, had they charged me only $5-10 I would write the same review. My advice: Stay away!!! I wish i could give zero stars!!! read more

It's a full service salon and I love that about it. They do everything from hair extension to brazillian straightening to regular cut and color. The prices are reasonable, too. The main problem I have with the place is that they seem to have a very high turnover rate which means you shouldn't really get too attached to your stylist. Admittedly there are a few who have been there for years but if you care to see the same person every time then be sure to ask for someone who's been working there for more than 3 years otherwise they might transfer or disappear after you start to like them! read more
