Just had a great experience at Salon Capri. Being new to the area it's always hard to find a good stylist, and both my husband and I hit the jackpot with this gem of a salon. My husband went a couple weeks ago. He insists on a scissor cut with no clippers, and Suzanne (sp?) did an excellent job. He rarely is pleased so quickly with his haircuts so she definitely knows what she is doing and was so gracious and nice! I went today, Christina did my cut and color and I cannot compliment her more. She took time to understand what I wanted and the results are stunning. My hair looks beautiful and finally feels healthy again. We will definitely be regulars! read more

As a guy with very straight hair I have long experienced the consequences of inconsistent and uneven cuts. Butcher in-and-out establishments or seemingly fancy salons boasting very poor results for the price. That's why when I went to Roxy and got an excellent and handsome look for a reasonable price, I went back to see if she could repeat her execution. And she did. And she continues to do so - every time for 6 years. Always a great cut and always stylish. Roxy is also the coolest hair stylist I have ever met. Very interesting, lots of artistic talent (beyond hair) and speaks multiple languages. She makes you feel comfortable and will engage and make you laugh if you need it or give you a calm space to relax in. You leave feeling refreshed and looking great. read more

I went here for the first time today and will definitely be back. Jennifer was so great, she did exactly what I wanted and made my hair look healthy again. All around great experience! read more

I've been going here for about 3 years now. Christina, the owner, is generally who I see, and is wonderful. She always helps me figure out exactly what I want, is great to talk to, and takes great care to actually get to know her customers. I've also seen Jay and several of the others there, and have never had a bad experience. A wonderful, friendly place. I'm ride or die. read more

I don't give a lot of 5-star reviews. Before this one, my stats reveal that only 29 of my previous 155 reviews got full marks. Welcome to the club, Salon Capri! There's a reason that (as of this writing), Salon Capri has a completely unblemished record -- nine reviews, all with 5-stars each. From the moment I arrived OUTSIDE the building until I walked out, I was treated like the celebrity that I am -- in my brain, at least. Friendly greeting. Polite people. Clean environment. FREE BEER! Yep, free beer with my haircut. Awesome! Jennifer cut my hair and did a great job. Let me judge halfway through if it was short enough (it wasn't) and didn't mind going back over it to make it what I wanted. We had a nice chat, she worked at a reasonable pace, and she shampooed me AFTER cutting my hair in order to wash out all the clippings. What a great idea! All of this for just $25 (before tip), which I think it quite reasonable. For all of the reasons stated above, Salon Capri is officially my New Orleans haircut spot. Isn't it sweet how we found each other and fell in love so quickly? read more

Simply put, there are only two reasons that I will fight traffic and certain peril from enemies-of-the-hefty hipsters on bikes: Indian food at Nirvana, and my haircut from Christina. I haven't been to her new salon yet, but that is ONLY because she just cut my hair a few weeks ago while she was still at her old establishment. She has always done me justice on my hair. She is careful to not cut it too short (I have a horrible cow lick), and never complains when I ask her to take it "a little shorter." With a super-personable attitude, and a suggestion about a new place to try for lunch, there is never a lack of conversation. Christina, I'm so excited for your dream to finally be coming true! I'll be in soon to see it in person! read more

Christina has bee cutting my hair for a while now, and I'm really excited about her new salon! She is amazing with scissors, even with my thick hair. I love my hair every time I leave her chair, and so does the dozens of people that compliment me every time. Christina is friendly, trendy, very professional, and a great source of ideas for where to eat. I haven't been disappointed with any of those recommendations either. If you are looking for a fantastic stylist, definitely book an appointment here! You won't be disappointed! read more

Christina has been cutting my hair for nearly three years now. She is the best--she listens carefully to what I want, and gives me a great cut each time. Great prices and you leave the salon looking and feeling great! I've gotten to know Christina a bit over the years, and there's no one I'd rather give my money to for salon services. The salon itself is beautiful, relaxing, AND has its own off-street parking. Could you ask for more?? read more

Salon Capri - The posh hair washing chairs and a fan. - Hair Salons Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Quick to the point staff + reasonable prices= good place to check out I am forever changing hair salons. This place is my newest try and I liked it a lot. My hair stylist was knowledgable and realistic. I will come back again read more

I went for the first time last week and got a haircut that I love from Jennifer! Also I felt very safe in terms of covid (everyone had masks, and we were alone in the room). I will definitely be going back and will recommend her to others! read more

I have been to Salon Capri 4 times now. Jay cut and colored my hair. He is fabulous. I have the best color in 30 years and a great hair cut. This is a beautiful salon with reasonable prices. Everyone is nice. Jay is on time. He has never left me sitting in the reception area. read more

I've been getting my haircut with Christina for the past several months and I'm happy to say that I think I found an awesome, consistent place to go in New Orleans. It is uptown, has parking in back, a nice atmosphere and little to no wait. Gentlemen, the folks here do a lot of men's cuts so don't be turned off by the "salon" name. read more

I had a great experience here! I've tried quite a few salons in the city and the reviews here were wonderful, so I wanted to give them a try. I went for a cut and color with Jay and he was SO nice. We talked a bit before about what I wanted -- generally I want my cut to keep my hair long, but to get all the dead ends. He had been the first stylist in the past year who showed me the back of my hair and pointed out that I really needed a little more than just a trim, the ends were so bad. I was really grateful for his honesty about cutting some more off, because with my last cut (elsewhere), I left with just as many split ends as I came in with. With the color, he had a lot to deal with since unfortunately I had a bad experience with someone putting a darker color on my roots during my last color. I showed Jay a picture of the blonde color I wanted to get back to, before this previous mess up. I was really glad that he acknowledged it would take another time or two to get to that exact light blonde color, just because there was so much dark already on my hair. But it really looks wonderful. He did not use a toner, which I usually feel that I need, but I actually think it wasn't necessary this time. I am really happy with how it turned out and will be going back! What's especially great is the prices. All cuts are $45 and my full head of highlights were $85. This is much more reasonably than other places I have been for color. Not sure how much toner would be. Salon was beautiful too! Very open and airy! read more

Jay has been cutting my hair for about a year now. Each cut has been a slightly different look and all have been awesome. He has a magic touch, y'all. The man is an artist. I like a low maintenance haircut that I can air dry and doesn't require a lot of fuss on a day-to-day basis. Jay respects that, which I really appreciate, and has come up with lots of great options that look professional and fun without major time input required on my part. I'd been a long hair gal for most of my life and cut my hair shoulder length a few years ago. I hadn't settled on a short style yet, and Jay had excellent suggestions. Christina (the owner) has been cutting my husband's hair for about a year now too, and she keeps him looking sharp. I haven't had a haircut from her yet, but he's always happy. I got one cut from Jennifer too, which was also fantastic. Bottom line: you won't go wrong with this salon. Fair prices, always prompt about appointments, and you'll leave looking good. read more

Found this place because I moved recently to Uptown and needed a new hair salon. I used to go to an amazing place called Fleet Street in Lexington, KY (if you for whatever reason find yourself in Lexington needed a haircut, please go there, they are awesome, see Jessica or Cody or anyone for that matter). Anyway the yelp reviews seemed good, so I gave it a shot. Jennifer has been cutting my hair now three times. I have an undercut (which everyone and their mother seems to have now, oh well). She's super meticulous and really awesome at what she does. And also an all around cool lady and fun to talk to. Prices are very reasonable, I pay $5 more than I used to in Kentucky, but I can't exactly complain because that was Kentucky. I can't recommend this place enough. The reviews were spot on. read more

Jay is incredible. He completely saved my hair from the brink of disaster. I came in with damage and a botched highlight job (tons of ugly orange tones and muddy blonde coloring) and he restored my hair to the beautiful buttery champagne blonde color I was seeking. On top of being an awesome person to talk to, he is an incredibly talented stylist. The salon is calming and clean and uses high end products. I would recommend this place (and especially Jay) to everybody! read more

Great hair cut good service and they won't charge you and arm and a leg to do it either. Would highly recommend to anyone not from New Orleans that are visiting and need a haircut go and see these guys read more

My stylist was great! I'd recently had a string of bad haircuts and needed some help with my cut/color. She knew exactly what to do and I left feeling so much better! I've paid twice the price for highlights in the past and it's never looked quite as good as the color done here. I believe my stylist's name was either Jessica or Jennifer (sorry, I forgot!) and I'd recommend her/Salon Capri to anyone looking for a change of pace. read more

Overall, good service and reasonable prices. I ran a few minutes late, so the stylist seemed to be in a bit of a rush, but the haircut and color still came out great. read more

Had a wonderful experience at this brand new salon Uptown. Everyone was extremely friendly. It has only been open for two days but the people working there seemed like a true team. The decor was extremely fresh, modern & inviting. My tresses were very tired & in need of major help. Christina listened to my needs & did exactly what I asked. Even my fella commented on how good my hair looked when I got home. I look forward to going back. read more

My in laws had been going to Christina for a long time, so she came highly recommended. I really enjoyed her process, especially that she wanted to know how I like to leave the salon (ie, how did I want my hair styled?) No one has ever asked that before and I usually end up leaving a salon with a style I can never replicate. I feel like I have found a salon that I finally love! read more

Truly as good as it gets. I chose this place based on the raving yelp reviews and it was everything I hoped for. The salon was easy to find and has nice, relaxing atmosphere. Roxy took me in right away, listened carefully to the struggles I was having with my hair, and delivered exactly what I wanted. She was absolutely delightful to work with and gave me great recommendations on how to keep my hair healthy in between visits. I felt relaxed, pampered, and well taken care of. Plus, this place is VERY reasonably priced. I will happily go back and recommend others do the same! read more

The owner Christina is the best colorist I have ever worked with. After years of highlights, she matched my color to the T the very first time. I no longer have to worry about whether or not my color will match my natural hair, it's spot on every time. (I'm growing my hair out much longer than it used to be so I needed several color sessions over the past 2 years). The salon is clean, friendly, well organized and in a terrific location. Off street parking uptown is always a plus. Would recommend Christina and Salon Capri to anyone looking for a great new salon. read more

Suzanne did EXACTLY what I wanted. She knew how to deal with my baby fine, lifeless hair. This was my first visit and I will definitely go back to see her! read more

I kept meaning to give kudos to Jay, he's awesome! He always leaves my hair b-e-autiful! He's a great conversationalist and always so happy. Cristina is so sweet as well, she really makes one feel welcomed :) I love her precious, four legged pup too, glad he was there the other day read more

I am shocked that this salon had such great reviews. The only positive experience was that they took me right away (which should have been a red flag). The owner, and hair stylist, was very condescending. She then proceeded to cut my hair exactly the way she wanted instead of what I requested. Never again. read more

See my tip! It was a great experience. LaRisha was very nice and my hair looks very very good! I'll go back next time I need a hair cut or styling read more

Christina is an amazing colorist and stylist that I have gone to for years!! My daughter had a drop in visit with Jay and it was awesome!!! Salon Capri is the best!!! read more

This place is literally perfect. Had a cut today with Jennifer. I have been to Aveeda Prytania which was also good, but since they've raised their minimum price to $45 its simply absurd for me to go there. I tried Modern Man for my last cut, it was very good, but at $35 felt a little pricey. This place charges $25, hitting the sweet spot for price. The haircut was great. Also like the lower lighting, not a fan of fancy salons blasting bright light in my face when I'm sitting a foot away from a mirror, just awkward. Will come here again. read more

Wonderful experience @ Salon Capri today! I've been back in NOLA for almost one year and after three previous unsatisfactory salon experiences, I've finally found "my place". Jennifer colored/ highlighted and cut my hair perfectly. I didn't feel rushed at all during the initial consultation, which was greatly appreciated. The result is a stylish combo of my requests and Jennifer's expertise. The shop is physically appealing and comfortable, not ostentatious or try hard, uber chic (that's a compliment). There's off street parking! The cost of services was unbelievably reasonable. I'm so relieved that I no longer have to search for a salon/ stylist that meet my needs. read more

Great atmosphere and location. I see Suzanne, who always does a great job and I can trust completely with my hair. She's always ready with a smile, really gets what you want, and my hair ends up looking great. Suzanne cut and styled my hair and did an amazing job! She was super friendly as was everyone who worked there. Will definitely be going back again for my complimentary bang trimming! read more

Thank you Roxy Diaz for giving me the most memorable and personality defining cut and color! People are constantly stopping to comment on and compliment my hair! Granted my style is bolder than others but even folks who might not choose a look this extreme say that they wish they could wear their hair like this! Its a great boost to the ego to get complimented every day, I feel like I'm wearing a work of art on my head! I've also worked with Roxy Diaz on numerous photoshoots and she is both talented and professional! Her hair styles have helped make some truly memorable photoshoots perfect! Beyond that everyone I know says how nice and sweet she is! Thanks Roxy! read more

Had Roxy for highlights. Was really nervous as it was my first time getting them in three years! Absolutely love the result. Her technique gives a really natural effect. My only regret is not going full head, which my totally my own decision. Will definitely be back! read more

FINALLY!!! After 6 years of trying to find a great haircut in NOLA, JAY has come to my rescue. Seriously, if one more cute young thing gave me a bad haircut, I was going to shave it all off...and believe me, I have tried so many people in this town. Jay, who has a salon in Chicago, cuts here. You can NOT go wrong with this man--he is attentive, precise, thorough and left me with the stylish cut the likes of which I have only been able to find in New York. I was starting to look a little like I was wearing a helmet, and felt like I should be giving the nightly news on TV. Took a chance with Jay after some yelp reviews. He listened to what I wanted, how I wore my hair, what I do to style it, etc. - then proceeded to give me a fab, modern and flattering cut. RUN, don't walk, to see Jay. Thank me later. read more

I'm rating Salon Capri only 1 star because of the owners attitude. I wish I could do 0 stars. Every time I go there she is so rude about something and it is very unprofessional and not very smart of a small business owner . She does an okay job with hair. But I will not return or ever recommend this place. read more

My haircut at this salon was fairly awesome. Christina have me exactly what I wanted and gave me assurance on something's. She is very honest and will give you the cut and color you want. And the salon is bright, airy, super clean and in a great area. I highly recommend this salon and can't wait for my next appointment. read more
