And Jessica will be your Dolly Parton (true story, as I was leaving the salon yesterday, Dolly came on the sound system so I couldn't help but think about this). For my first appointment, actually even before that, I had a consultation first where she assessed my hair and we discussed what I wanted and what could be done to it. I wanted a balayage situation with purple, but my hair is almost black so it would need to be lightened... gradually because my hair is damaged/thin so she wanted to be careful. My return appointment was an entire day affair thanks to the color lifting. The purple was amazing, however once I got home, I realized it didn't take in the back and there were some orange-y spots so I called the salon. Jessica spoke to me and insisted that I come back so that she could fix it. And I was there for another two hours at no charge. Ultimately there was a small bit of hair that did not take the dye and sometimes that's going to be the case. I still loved the results and literally got compliments wherever I went. I didn't even need touching up but I went back yesterday after four months and I don't know what she did differently but this color is a gorgeous, rich dark brown with slight purple highlights. And I am in love with my haircut, too (slight shaping and trim goes such a long way). Thanks to Jessica for being such an approachable, skilled stylist (check out her Youtube channel) and Sarah and the rest of the reception staff for being so nice. I'm so happy to have the Steel Magnolias salon of my dreams here in New Orleans!

Parking was surprisingly easy and convenient. We made the appointment online and it started on time and with our preselected hair dresser. The general salon and waiting area was a bit too loud for my daughter but when she went to get her hair washed, we noticed a "Quiet waiting area"!! I love this fact, especially for my child who is autistic. My daughter loved the hair massage as her hair was prepped for cutting. The hairdresser was calm, friendly and really listened to what we wanted. She was great at matching the pictures that we brought for examples. I was in desperate need of a cut before vacation and saw that the legendary Jo works here now so I quickly got an online appointment. I didn't need anything special this go around, just a trim and something that would work if and when I feel like wearing extensions again. In and out in under 45 minutes! I love my haircut, as well as the fact that this salon is just steps from where I live. The price is more than fair at 80 dollars, which doesn't seem like it's more than what I paid a decade.
