My hair is coarse, curly and grey underneath the dye. When the wind blows it, I look like Medusa and not the supermodel on TV. My schedule is so busy I barely manage to make it to Great Clips for a haircut. On vacation, I finally had some time to get a decent haircut. My hair was desperate for some styling. Cara did a great job at taming the mess. She styled and shaped. Fluffed and tamed. It looks great. I would have included a picture but the wind was strong and it doesn't do Cara's work justice. Highly recommended. read more

Christopher is fantastic! He is creative and simply wonderful. He made me look and feel like a beauty queen.

My husband and I snowbird in NOLA (hubby has family nearby.) I have my go-to person in Chicago but was a bit worried about finding a random person in NOLA. No fear - I went to Chris last year, and again last week - he is great. He asks a lot of questions and I left with a great cut! read more

Cara was fantastic! She did a wonderful job on my braided hairstyle and an updo. Highly recommend this place!

Cara gave me one of the best blowouts I've ever had! I wanted volume and she delivered! Chill vibe with friendly staff. Highly recommend

Had a great experience! The staff is amazing. Ms. Carrie brought my hair back to life. I showed up sad and a mess lol and left felling great and looking great . I can't tell anyone enough how talented this group of people are. If you're ever in town or live here this is the place to be made over. The establishment is beautiful and welcoming. read more

I was walking done Royal Street the other day and saw this salon. I've been using Aveda hair color and stylists for write done times so I was interested. Since I was in desperate need of a haircut (I MEAN DESPERATE) I called on Tuesday and wonders off wonder they were able to get me in. Chris did my hair and I really like it. I made an appointment for 4 weeks to come back again. read more

Everyone here is incredibly friendly and they make sure to provide a comfortable and vibrant atmosphere. I was able to do a consult the same day I called to schedule a root touch up with a vivid color service so I could see how much I was looking at spending and then I was able to get in as soon as it worked with my schedule. Chandler made sure he asked and listened to what I wanted, asked me if I had any questions or concerns to which I brought up that I was actually happy with my usual salon but that I had been experiencing some problems with my bleaching services leaving me with super painful scabs. He immediately asked me if I knew what bleach my hair stylist was using and worked to not use the same bleach and used a balancing treatment to avoid the same reaction. I left with incredibly soft, healthy hair with NO REACTION OR SCABS!! I was so happy. Not to mention the color looked amazing and as soon as I walked out of the salon I got two different compliments. I went back for a haircut the next week and he made sure to only cut the split ends and left my hair as long as possible but thinned it out as much as I wanted since it was so thick and I left feeling like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. As if his talent wasn't enough Chandler is incredibly fun to work with and converse with. The receptionist and all the other stylists I interacted with were also incredibly nice as well. I cannot recommend Salon Diversions enough and I can't wait to see how my next color looks read more

LOVE this salon. I have been going to Gabby for over a year. She completely corrected my "blonde gone wrong" and made me the exact shade of ashy blonde I've been searching for! The stylists are authentic and take their time, and for the expertise they provide, it is quite affordable. Thank you Salon Diversions for yet another amazing color and cut! read more

Christopher saved my birthday. I can't recommend him or this salon high enough I had had a horrendous experience at a different salon the night before that felt like someone had seriously damaged my hair and gave it an unflattering color. Thank God for Christopher who squeezed me in at the last minute and resurrected my hair, making it beautiful and stylish to celebrate my special day. It was exactly what I wanted. He was a gem and if you're on the fence, you should definitely go here and see him. He was wonderful and I am so, so thankful I came here and that he was my stylist #someonepromotehimorgivehimaraise read more

A coworker of mine has been getting her hair done by Jenn at Salon Diversions for years and recommend me go to see her for a cut. Very simple. Although I got Jenn's number from my coworker, I just texted and checked her availability. This was a Monday, late afternoon. I was her first appointment on Wednesday at 11! The location was easy to fine and the large windows at the front seemed awkward at first but once sitting in the chair I felt right at home. Comfortable. I was offered coffee, hot tea, beer, wine, or water. (I took them up on a white wine, when in NOLA, right?) I was completely and totally satisfied with my cut and style ($59 without tip). And Jenn offered advice on hair care products whenever I asked - she wasn't pushy AT ALL though. I could tell she actually cared and wanted me to get the correct product even if it wasn't from the salon. **this is just a cut and style done by Jenn. The color is from before and being grown out!!** read more

After a much needed post-quarantine haircut, I quickly booked a session and received a slot with Chandler. I'm not too fussy with how I look so I told him to "just make me look cute" and let him lead the way - which was the correct thing to do. Not only do I look amazing but I feel absolutely sexy. Bonus points for the salon itself being cautious and aware during these COVID conditions. read more

This review is for Leanne M. I love my hair! Thank you! I just got carded at a bar for the first time in months! I'be been a stylist for 20 years. So I kind of stalled when I moved here. Looked in the mirror yesterday, it was time to get myself fixed up. I had booked just for color which she nailed. I brought yes and no pics. She clocked it all in under 3 minutes. She is so kind and so easy to talk to. Got exactly what I wanted. I was lucky to add a cut after. She was sweet enough to indulge me in a mix of her cutting style and mine (above and beyond for her doing that ). I really appreciated the collaboration. The staff is kind, the place is cute, she is my new stylist here. So happy! read more

Probably the worst highlight color I have ever had done. $220 later I will need to go and get it completely fixed my husband said it looked so much better before I left for my appointment I am so bummed! I wish I had never gone to this appointment. She bleached out my hair in rough patchy looking highlights!! that are stripey and look so cheap. Around my face it looks just bleached. Not pretty highlights at all!! I was so traumatized when I was leaving I paid the $220 and left. Now looking in the mirror I cannot even believe they still charged me for this. My hair looks awful. read more

I have been going to Gabby for about 3 years now. She is by far the BEST hair stylist I have ever found. She not only can create the perfect color based on what her clients desire (I've been blonde to auburn to dark brown), she is knowledgeable enough to advise us how to change shades in a way that is healthiest for our hair. And she knows how to style/cut hair perfectly. I trusted Gabby enough to bring my 7-month old son to her for his first hair cut (he was born with a full head of hair and it had gotten out of control). She was patient and perfect with him. And his cut was Adorable! Go to Salon Diversions and request Gabby. Do it now! You will not be disappointed. read more

I've been going to Salon Diversions for yearrrrrrrs now (probably at least since 2012), and as long as I live in New Orleans, I won't go anywhere else. Cara is a great stylist and the whole staff is friendly. I love the excuse to take a little adventure into the heart of the French Quarter, and once I'm inside the salon it's always a relaxing and enjoyable experience. They use Aveda products (which smell so good!) and I always get a nice scalp massage while having my hair washed before my haircut. read more

Love the online booking system that they have here... super efficient and convenient. And you definitely won't forget that you have an appointment here or what time it is because you get multiple text reminders... I had an 11 am appointment for hair styling and eyelash application for an event. There was a 15 minute wait when I got there at my appointment time, but I felt like the hair stylist took her time with my hair and didn't rush when she was informed that her next client had arrived. She did a lovely job with my curls and they lasted all night. It was a bit weird that they didn't have any glue for the eyelashes, but another girl ran out and picked some up pretty quickly. So that wasn't a problem. The lashes looked great and also lasted all night. $55 for the hair, and $15 for the lashes... not cheap but completely reasonable. I tipped $15 on top. read more

Cara has been doing my hair for over 10 years now and she does an excellent job. I've been brunette, lavender, reddish, pink and now blonde. There is a poem by John Koethe that states, She had the blondest hair, Which fell across her shoulders, and a dress of almost phosphorescent blue. She liked Ayn Rand. We went down to the Village for a drink. ======================================================== After having a drink in the village (french quarter), It was time for Andrea to rock my hair's world. When I first moved to the Quarter three years ago, finding a place to have my hair cut seemed impossible. I wasn't expecting much when I went there, but since that day I have refused to go anywhere else. The salon attendant is very kind and always offering refreshments. There is a diverse array of stylists. I have had everything from professional cuts to dyed hair and they have never done me wrong. They always ask you for your input and you are welcomed to give feedback. My favorite part is the head message and hair washing. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny. read more

Love the ladies in this salon. Cara and Jenn are THE BEST. I was happy with my hair work until my normal stylist started becoming unprofessional, and incompetent with my hair. After a year of having my hair blown out every week, once I began doing my own hair- I quickly found out she was not coloring my full head, though I paid full price plus tip. Because of Gabriella, I had to goto a Paris Parker Salon to have my hair not only color corrected (4 different colors in my hair), but to have my hair leveled out because it was uneven as well. Also it's 2 times and going in for a third to fix my hair color from over 1 year of incompetence in hair color from Gabriella. I recommend this place and use Cara or Jenn. read more

Gabby is amazing!! As someone who has made special trips to NYC to get my hair done by the only stylist I've ever trusted with my hair, I know how nerve-wracking it can be to find a new stylist (but let's be honest, I can't go to NYC for highlights forever!)... I just moved to New Orleans & heard wonderful things about Gabby - she'd had a cancelation and was able to squeeze me in the next day and OMG I've never been so happy!! Gabby is clearly a master at balayage and she absolutely nailed the golden blonde highlights I was going for (listening to my toner-gone-wrong stories!); bright & beachy yet natural-looking and blends so well into my natural color. Awesome cut, too! Also, she is just the loveliest to chat to :) I can't recommend Gabby highly enough and am so happy to have found my new stylist in NOLA!! AND the salon is such a relaxing space and everyone is so sweet & friendly. Just the best! My new go-to! read more

It's been 3 weeks since I've got my hair cut by Chandler and I just had to come back on here and say THANK YOU! I am in love with my new hair! I went in for a full highlight and hair cut with atleast 3-4 inches of split ends. I told him I wanted it layered and showed him photos. He was so sweet and explained how styling factors into the photos I showed and additionally recommended products specific to my hair type. Initially I thought my hair was a little on the short side, but I told him to cut off all the split ends which inevitably resulted in shorter hair. It definitely IS NOT too short, in fact I think the length is perfect for me. It looks more professional and when it's messy I think it looks really cute. It holds more volume and I feel like a star. It's super blonde, very well blended and the exact warmth I wanted. Now that it's been a while, I just want to say I LOVE MY HAIR. I've always had a natural middle part and I would usually part my hair towards one side or the other. This haircut has made me love my hair parted naturally for the first time in my life. I love chandler and I'm considering switching stylists to have him always do my hair. read more

Such an excellent salon. It was my first time and I felt very comfortable and welcomed. I communicated clearly what I was looking for to Gabby. I'm a blonde so I tend to get a bit anxious with new stylist doing my hair. Gabby exceeded expectations and was clear and concise on the process of my hair and what she needed to do. I was also offered a glass of wine during my hair treatment -- awesome! I am excited to use them as my future salon. read more

Hands down best salon I've ever been to, and I've been searching for the perfect spot in New Orleans for over 20 years. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. I'm always greeted with a glass of water, tea, beer, or wine... which is truly the way to my heart. And let me tell you about Gabby!!! Gabby has been doing my hair for almost 3 years and she's the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. She has provided me with the boost of confidence that I needed. My hair was damaged and broken, color/highlights/technique was outdated... I needed some serious help. And now my hair is healthier than ever before! Gabby is a true artist and creative genius. She is fast, friendly, and knows exactly what looks best on me and what I will like most. I don't even have to think.
