From the moment I spoke with the receptionist on the phone, until the moment I left, I was completely satisfied. As a resident of Cromwell, I've driven by Green Lotus many times, but today was the first time I decided to give it a try, and it was a great choice! I called Green Lotus late in the afternoon inquiring about an appointment for facial waxing either tonight or tomorrow night - and surprisingly, they were able to fit me in tonight. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from Monica, and she offered to hang up my coat and get me a drink. My appointment with Vanessa went very well - she introduced herself with a handshake and conversed with me throughout the appointment. I have some skin sensitivities and allergies, and Vanessa discussed these with me prior to my appointment and added them to my record. It even printed that I had an allergy on my receipt - so I'm very pleased to know they take that matter seriously! She really took her time and didn't rush through the service. If I were to describe both employees I dealt with, I'd say: Processional & Friendly. They both deserve a ton of credit for their great customer service - something that seems rare these days. The salon is very clean and the waxing room had soft, relaxing music in the background and a soothing fountain. I thought the price was reasonable and ended up booking a future appointment. If you want to get amazing service from a wonderful group of employees, check out Green Lotus Salon!

I should have called but everything happened so quickly that I honestly was not thinking about the days appointments. I was unable to pick up my phone when they called but when I realized what had happened I called right back from the hospital. They do not answer their phone so I left a message and sent an email explaining what happened, I received no response and they charged me $185.00 for missing the appt. My message stated that I understood I would need to pay a cancellation fee and asked if under the circumstances if they could refund part of the $185.00 Well as I said there was no response. I would have been a very good client for these people as I would have utilized a number of their services on an ongoing basis. I did make a mistake but I think this is a very bad way to do business and a terrible way to take advantage of someone. Sometimes things just happen!

It's run by a family- father, mother, and son. They are complete snobs. I had an appointment with the mother because she is the short hair expert. But she took one look at my hair and decided it wasn't short enough, so she'd pass me off to her son (the apprentice?). He asked me WHAT HAPPENED?! to my hair. Excuse me, what do you mean "What happened?" I guess he was trying to say I have bad hair. I'm sorry but my hair is extremely thick and curly, I can't help that. I've also been told at many other salons that it is healthy and strong. Anyway, as soon as they started working on my hair they were quick to try to upsell me on a Brazilian Keratin Treatment. "People come from all over the state just for this!" OK how much does it cost? "Oh anywhere from $250-500." Wow, that is a pretty broad range. Well you will have to come back in for a consultation. They couldn't even give me a quote that day! I will think about it. I called back a few weeks later, they said Grace was on vacation and she'd call me back to set up a consultation. She never did. Oh well, their loss not mine. While he was cutting my hair he constantly bragged about all the training he's had, Paul Mitchell school blah blah blah. Bored me to death. Then another customer came in and he left me! I was just sitting there waiting forever while he did her hair. To top it all off, he didn't even ask me if I liked my cut, if I wanted more taken off, etc. I think he might have cut off .0001 cm. I went for a real haircut somewhere else the next day. A few months later I came back for a facial. It was very short (barely 30 minutes) and nothing special. I'm definitely done with this place. Spend your money at a salon that appreciates it.

I showed her reference photos of a half-up, half-down style I've had before with no issue. She didn't mention any concerns, but after curling for 20 minutes, she said my hair "couldn't be curled." I have long, untreated hair and even offered suggestions that have worked in the past, but she dismissed them. The final style looked nothing like the photos--lopsided, messy, bobby pins exposed--and started falling apart soon after. I had to go back before my event just to have it taken down. A different stylist removed the pins and apologized. I paid $104 and ended up redoing my hair myself in a hotel lobby before the wedding rehearsal. I contacted the salon and sent photos, but never received a response. Very disappointing experience. See my google review of the business for the picture of their work.
