They're great threaders, very quick, and they don't try to push other services on you. There's nothing more annoying than having a threader ask you, "Are you sure you don't want your upper lip done too?" And you can't beat $7 for some great looking brows! There can be a decent wait on Friday evenings and weekend mornings/afternoons, so try to go at off hours.

Hmmm ... first name and location was ringing a distant bell. Rewind about 2-3 years earlier. My high school daughter phones SOBBING, hyper-ventilating, unable to speak. Thought she had been in an auto accident. No... my hairdresser at a Cary salon dismissed my daughter from his chair when he learned that she had a specific style in mind for the evening's event with a curt: "I don't do prom do's!" and he whips the gown off her!! My daughter goes from booked salon to booked salon until she happens upon the salon where Krista worked at the time. Krista, with a daughter that age as well, on her feet all day, ready to call it a day, does my daughter's hair at 4:30 or 5:00 that Saturday afternoon out of sheer compassion and empathy because she has a huge heart! Now fast forward to present day, 6/15/13. I had to leave the Raleigh-area in December and am currently living at the coast. Sure miss my hairdresser in Apex: Krista at kj hair spa!! I will get back over the summer one of these days for an appointment. Even after I had relocated to the coast, I kept Saturday appointments with Krista until the house settled. I let it go only because her appointment availability didn't coincide with my schedule. She highlighted my partners hair and did it the wrong color. My partner approached her about this and she refunded her money and told her she wishes her luck with her hair. To my surprise; I received a text from, Sonia saying since she was not going to do my partners hair anymore she's going to refund my money and wished me good luck as well ! I was shocked. Not only did she not do my color in a lasting way; she dismissed me as a customer !! I was a very good customer to, Sonia. I tipped her to the highest level and did not say anything when she canceled appointments on more than one occasion. Including once when I was pulling in. I went to a fantastic new hairdresser who to my surprise without my saying anything told me the last person who cut my hair cut it all crooked. Sonia; not only did you lose my partner and I, but, four of our other friends stopped going to you too. Sad; because it wasn't very nice what she did to me.

I know that's a long time to forget about a cut, but in my defense I'd done a drastic cut of 14" prior Faye, did a spectacular job! I just pointed out keeping my length, but trimming the ends and making this blanket into a more v shape with some oooompf. She was so patient especially when I forgot to mention my appointment had partials. She squeezed me in- amazing seriously!! I'm usually a big chop and then minor trims later kinda gal, but Faye was great helping me pick out colours to pop in my hair and all in under 2 hours I swear; best haircut experience in the area EVER.

When toning she said it would lighten with shampooing, but it was darker then what I came in with. She had changed my appointment to a different appointment type because she said it wasn't as intensive as a true balayage, which I thought was nice because it was less expensive but I didn't ask and it wasn't a balayage or the colors I showed. I asked to come back in after trying head and shoulders, which they recommended to use to speed up the lightening, and Meredith was awesome to fit me in to see if it would lighten. It did a bit but is still darker. She also seemed surprised of the colors based on the pic I showed her too. Very nice and professional but not worth it when you'll need to redo it somewhere else.

Went here last night after multiple people recommended it in a local moms group and was massively…read moredisappointed. I scheduled online for an acrylic fill. When I arrived I confirmed this with the two techs in the manicure area who repeated it back to me and said they'd be with me shortly. The service started 15 minutes past my appointment time. I explained what I wanted, to maintain my stiletto shape, no cutdown, black polish, just a standard acrylic fill in. The salon I tried last time did a terrible job and I asked that they focus on the nails looking smooth and maintain a slightly more natural thickness. When the tech started applying the enhancement I thought it looked odd, and said 'Acrylic?' To which he said 'acrylic, yes'. I took him at his word, but after one half cured 'coat' he suddenly asked me to stand up and switch stations to his coworker's. My nails were so sticky I couldn't even move my own phone or purse and the towel he had down was quite literally attached to one nail before I had to pull it free. The other tech continued application and then did a VERY quick shaping with minimal buffing, I confirmed the shape was right and she said "great! We did gel too, it's better for your nails". It wasn't a question, or a mistake. They intentionally gave me an entirely different service than I had asked for, and confirmed TWICE during the process. I don't do gel for specific reasons. I have tried every version (dip, liquid, gelX, whatever) and I always return to standard acrylics because they are what work for me. She didn't apologize or offer any sort of explanation as to why they chose to ignore my choice and then lie to my face when I noticed something was wrong. By this point I was 1.5hrs into what should have been an hour long service-which also started 15 minutes late. I gave in and let her paint just so that I could get out of there. Needless to say I will not be returning, and the women who had recommend Cosmo have been informed and said they'd be looking elsewhere as well.
