If I come back I wouldn't do the steam room - didn't enjoy this aspect. But apparently couples do since it's "private". My only compliant would be the day before the massage they called and needed to reschedule my appointment for 3 hours later due to one of their massage therapist quitting they would only have one on site and wouldn't be able to accommodate two massages at one time. I ended up going with a friend so it didn't really matter if we were in the room at the same time. Kept same appointment time and the manager threw in a complimentary "spa ritual" (mud room package) for the inconvenience.

I could hear a man in the back talking on the phone and I first thought that was my stylist, so I said "hello...hello" but no response. He continues to talk on the phone. So, I looked around the lobby for a minute and then took a seat. I called Quavis at 9:55 to let him know I was at the salon. He said he was on his way and was running late. So, I sat there for a few more minutes and a young lady arrived (another stylist) and she asked if I was being helped and I told her that I was waiting on Quavis and I called him and he stated that he was running late. She nodded her head up and down and reiterated that she wanted to make sure I had been helped. I thanked her and after a few more minutes (10:13am to be exact), I called Quavis back and asked how much longer would he be because I didn't know if I needed to reschedule. He said that was up to me but he was coming up the stairs. When he got to the salon, he grumbled "good morning I'll be with you shortly" (or in a minute...or something like that). At that point, I was not feeling this appointment! So, after pondering for a moment, I walked towards the back where he went and called his name (because I was going to cancel the appointment). He didn't answer, so I went back out front and removed my name from the sign in sheet. When he came back out to the lobby, I told him I'd need to cancel or reschedule because we were already behind schedule. He looked me up and down and said "well if that's what you want to do...". I asked him if he was ok this morning. He said yes. I said that I didn't get an apology or anything and told him I'd removed my name from the sign in sheet. I told him to have a good day and left. I was very disappointed because I was expecting so much more from this salon. I'm sure the owner would be unhappy to know that this is how one of her stylists treats new customers.

Getting any response from this business before the visit was already a challenge - calls consistently went to voicemail with no callback. During her visit, my wife had a card placed on file. What we were not told: that an appointment would be booked months in advance on her behalf, that a 100% cancellation fee applied, or that they would charge her card without any reminder, confirmation, or heads-up of any kind. No call. No text. No email. Just a $100 charge appearing on her statement months later for an appointment she didn't know was still active. When I contacted the business to dispute this, I received five consecutive emails restating their cancellation policy - no acknowledgment of the lack of communication, no goodwill, no attempt at resolution. A cancellation policy is only enforceable when the customer is actually informed. Booking someone six months out and charging their stored card with zero follow-up in between is not a policy - it's a trap. There are plenty of massage businesses in the Apex area that treat customers like people. I'd start there.

Prices are reasonable and the location is convenient for UNC students. I haven't tried any of the other hair stylists, but Ms. Lee won't disappoint. After not seeing her for a few years post graduation, I stopped in a few months ago and she remembered my name, where I had moved to, and what I studied.
