I told her I appreciated her apology and the offer, but felt that I made the right decision to move on. ********************************************************** So disappointed writing this... I have been going to the same stylist at Salon Blonde for a couple of years. I'm always on time, make my appts in advance, and have only had to reschedule once due to a medical emergency. I showed up 10-15 minutes early to my appointment yesterday afternoon and was sheepishly told by the new receptionist that my stylist's client before me "got there late" (although I didn't see her or anyone at her station...). I was then told that she had asked someone else to take my appt... "if that was OK with me..." No, its not OK... this isn't Super Cuts... there was no attempt to call/text me to see if I wanted to reschedule, or to even offer me the option of seeing a different stylist. If she was really physically in the building, wouldn't she (after two years) have apologized and told me this face-to-face?? I decided to reschedule, then thought, nope,... not doing it... and cancelled. I understand if there is an emergency, but if the receptionist knew about this enough in advance to inform me of the issue when I walked in, the salon should have contacted me. Best salon in the Northwest side! I get a haircut with Daniel every 3 months and yes I look forward to him washing my hair and styling it. They have complimentary water/ soda which is great because I tend to forget my water bottle at home. The salon is very clean and trendy. Not what I ask for and not in the reference pictures and not what Myra said she was going to do. Now I have to send more to find someone who can turn this into a short pixie. I have recently moved to the area and was looking for a new salon. I called and specifically asked for someone that specializes in platinum hair. I was told there was an opening the next day. My appointment was for 1:30p and at 1p I was called and asked if I could come at 2p because my stylist was finishing with another client. I so appreciate this. I understand things run over and a heads up before I arrived allowed me to run some other errands. When I arrived the stylist was sweet and asked what I was hoping to do. I showed her two inspiration pictures (one was a past photo of myself and one I pulled off the internet). I wanted ice hair - platinum, with almost a grey/lavender tone. I had been growing my hair out for about a year and half since my last platinum experience and was looking to go back to that. Immediately she went to the back to ask for advice from another stylist. I wasn't sure what the conversation was but I decided based on her response she may have been inexperienced with this type of request. I actually understand that and am grateful she didn't try and do something she wasn't confident in. My frustration is as follows: I specifically asked for someone who understands/specializes in platinum. That was not considered when they paired me with this stylist. I was completely confused on what we were actually doing. She never explained and added some sort of toner while I was in the shampoo bowl. I spent more time in the bowl than in the chair without a clear understanding of the process. I was never asked how much would like to style my hair. It was blown out in a weird bob with no product. I feel like I spent $100 on a wash/blowout. There was really no difference between when I walked in and when I left. read more

I really did not want to write a bad review and have waited hoping my disappointment would subside. It didn't, so will hopefully be brief. Firstly, the young lady at desk was very pleasant and a new hire at that time. The "advanced stylist"... a man came to greet me with a scowl as I was happy and excited to be getting hair done. I wasn't sure why he was so grumpy and tried to make him smile with kindness. He had my long hair washed dried and being it was my first time, only a brief conversation on what I wanted, seemed he was in a hurry. He clearly didn't care at all about what I wanted or anything. I asked for one or two inches he cut five to six. I have natural curly hair and periodically dry it smooth. He decided to dry smooth as I said I do sometimes. He wouldn't give me any advice on Aveda products but tried pushing another product even though it's an Aveda salon. To get to the point besides cutting my curly hair too short he burnt straight my hair and my hair is still in shock lifeless dull and frizzy and have major bald spots - around my crown but also elsewhere from burning straight and pulling my fine hair. It has been tragic especially if you're known for having a head of healthy hair. He just didn't care and something seems very dark about that place sadly. ( for reference a $70 haircut and burn dry took him less than 30 minutes and I was out the door. It seemed like it would be a good salon but don't be fooled. The worst people and places adorn themselves as something good to cover what's really there. My fault in a way for not taking this stylists bad and basically rude behavior as serious. It's not my nature to wanna see bad.. but sadly I end up with a good reminder. Sorry this wasn't brief if you read all of this. Stay away from here and do your homework. I'm sure there are good stylists out there that care, and it's worth your time to educate yourself to find them. I wouldn't wish this situation on anyone. read more

I moved to Dove Mountain two weeks ago. I'm a seasonal. My hometown stylist had to cancel my appointment the day before I left my hometown. I decided to give Salon Blonde a go since I'm often on camera remotely for my job. I went grey early in my twenties. I've been peppering the hell out of that grey for two decades now. So I really should take the time to write down some names. The guy that liked like the guy from Schitt's Creek at the front desk along with his fellow creek cohorts were great. The stylist to his [David Rose-esque guy] immediate right was amazing. I had the chemical formula from my hometown stylist. I have no freaking idea what it means. I've been here before during the (Covid bull crap) and had my hair cut and colored . During that time they were not allowed to blow dry your hair ... so after the color was washed out I had to drive home with wet hair not knowing if it was going to look good. Honestly can't believe I agreed to that. In the end my hair turned out ok. Recently I had been wanting to get my hair permed and called to schedule a consult. I ended up sitting down for roughly 1 minute to show the stylist what I wanted . The consult was so quick that I didn't feel understood and was pretty much ushered out (Turned out to be a waste of time approx30mile drive for me) At that time we scheduled for the service for roughly a week and a half later which is ok. Unfortunately I needed to reschedule for a later day and was told it's now going to be another 3 MONTHS! The only time I've waited 3months to see someone was to see a Doctor. So this was very absurd to hear... Come to find out the stylist who was going to do my hair is leaving. Out of courtesy for customers you would've thought to make it known that you only have ONE stylist available to do perms now or would've at least informed me at the time of scheduling. So if any other customers want a perm expect to wait 3 MONTHS before getting in. I will not be returning nor recommending this business to friends and family anymore . read more

I really wanted to love this place, but just can't. I saw a Jr. Stylist the first time I went and she was actually quite good and personable. She, however, left the salon. Since then I tried 3 other stylists and have not been fully satisfied with any of them. They simply shampoo, cut and dry. They use no styling products. No one is real friendly or outgoing there making it quite a drab vibe. Average, at best. For the prices they charge, I expected a much better experience. read more

I've been struggling to find a hair salon in the greater Marana / Oro area. As I live in Dove Mountain and this place is ultra convenient. They do a wonderful job and don't dillydally around. I find I get the same results as other places and only takes half the time. Beyond that I found the prices to be very much in tune or even a bit less than some comparable salons I have experienced throughout the US. The one thing I will note is it's very difficult to get an appointment. You typically have to book out about a month in advance. My advice is just a schedule out, and jump in, and establish a cadence. Once you do I think you'll be very satisfied. It's a quality upscale Aveda salon. read more

Scheduled a hair cut and a glaze, then cancelled the hair cut because I couldn't afford both this month. I was told over the phone that the glaze would be $37, which is also what is listed on their website for a junior stylist. After I get my glaze done, they charge me $75 - double what I was told the glaze would be and only a few dollars less than when I got both a cut AND glaze when I went the time before. I wasn't going to sit there and argue with the receptionist, so I figured I'd call the next day and sort it out with the manager. Well, the manager, "Ellie" (if she actually exists), refused to get on the phone or call back after trying three separate times to get a hold of her. The receptionist kept saying "She'll give you a call at 10", 12pm no call back. "She'll be in at 2", 3pm no call back. Then just admitted the manager was blowing me off and flat out refused to take a call. The receptionist just said "Too bad, that's the way it is." and that apparently, if you ONLY get the glaze, they charge you double for not getting a haircut with the glaze, which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and is not what I was told when I asked for pricing over the phone, nor does it mention this anywhere on the website. So basically, I might as well have just got a haircut since I'd be paying the same. And for the record, I didn't add anything on while there, just a clear glaze that she left in my hair for all of three minutes (usually a 20 minute treatment at other salons). If I had known they add extra charges without notifying you only AFTER you get your hair done, I would have cancelled my appointment completely. They are refusing to refund the $38 they overcharged me. I'm not asking for a refund on the $37 glaze I got done, nor the tip I left for the stylist. Just the amount they decided to tack on at the last minute because they're shady and dishonest. I'll be disputing the charge with my credit card company and I'll continue to post one-star reviews until you guys refund the $38 you scammed me out of. Don't go here unless you like to play Russian roulette on how much it will cost, and better yet just don't go to this salon because if you ever have a problem, "that's just the way it is" and the manager is going to hide behind the receptionist and do nothing. We recently moved to Tucson and were having a hard time finding a stylist to cut my 10 year old daughter, Addy's hair as she is in a wheelchair and requires someone to hold her head up while her hair is being cut. She wears a cute stacked cut to avoid matting of hair on the back of her head due to the headrest on her chair. My wife had been to Daniel a few times since moving and he offered to cut Addy's hair for us. To say we were pleased is an understatement. Addy was welcomed to the salon with open arms and treated just like the other patrons. Daniel ROCKED Addy's stacked haircut - so much so that it's the best it's ever looked. See Yvette for color! Before the appointment, my ends looked very golden/yellow from old balayage and the rest of my hair was pretty dull. Yvette took a sample of a photo I brought in and made it look just like I wanted. The subtle balayage with toner was even throughout and gorgeous! When scheduling my appointment the receptionist was very friendly. I told her I wanted to book an appointment with someone that was good at blending grays and that I needed a good blowout style after as I was attending a wedding later that day. She assured me she had a great stylist and scheduled my appointment. Let's just say it didn't go as planned. Stylist was kind and friendly but as they were blow drying my hair they seemed to be rushed. Just drying it out...no "blowout." Then they said they were done. I was confused. Before I could even grab my jacket and bag they were in the lobby getting to their next appointment. No style was done just dry frizzy hair. I then told the receptionist what I was told I was going to get a blowout or at least some sort of style as I had a wedding to go to and requested when the appointment was made. She then spoke to her manager who then needed to text the owner to ask. It was all so embarrassing that all these steps needed to take place to get what I was requested during the initial appointment. I just wanted to leave at that point. The manager did curl my hair but never spoke to me. I felt like it was all my fault or something. Not the best experience and the overall color wasn't blended instead just big chunks of color. Go see Ely! I decided to chop my long hair off so I made an appointment online with Ely. She was great! I showed her some pictures of what I wanted and she gave me the perfect cut. She knew how to adjust to fit my face shape and hair type and it came out perfect. The haircut starts with a peppermint oil scalp massage, shampoo/conditioner and then the cut. Ely was so nice and professional and did such an amazing job. I had never been to her before but I could tell she is great at what she does because other stylists were asking her questions. I really like the online portal they offer - you can make appointments online and see what stylists are available. The place itself is clean and welcoming and the staff and stylists are so nice. I'm not thrilled by the extra precautions, and how the salon is such a "cold" environment right now. Having to sign a waiver that I won't sue the salon if I get covid is a bit over the top. I'm sorry to say I WOULD NOT recommend this salon for chunky highlights. During the pandemic I went to a private home where she pulled my hair through a cap (old fashion) for highlights, after 2 visits I decided this was way to damaging to my hair. So, I waited several months so my long hair didn't get damaged and decided to try again. When I called Salon Blonde last week the lady said chunky highlights were no problem, I had explained my recent history and that I didn't want little wispy highlights, I wanted chunky blonde highlights but I still wanted to remain a brunette. I explained all of this to Yvette and she said no problem. Well, there is a problem. I have hardly NO highlights, they are wispy and only on top. So, if I wear my hair up because it's 100 degrees outside.... NOTHING... So now I will have to wait months again and try another salon. REALLY DISAPPOINTING!!!! read more

As with the rest of the world, this past year has been rough and the state of my hair reflected such. After a year of a couple of sessions with box dyes, a self-haircut and then just letting things go, I got my vaccinations and waited the mandatory two weeks for Covid immunity. First thing I did was make an appointment to get my hair "fixed". The Salon is carefully following Covid protocol, was clean and had a chill atmosphere. I was lucky and was assigned Nikki, who listened to what I said, carefully cobbled together the best plan of action and made me look and feel like a functional human again.
