These pictures were taken the day of my appointment when I got home. I came in with beautiful, healthy, shiny brunette hair and left with a total disaster. I asked for a soft, faded balayage and instead got the most blotchy, choppy, uneven mess you can imagine. It was nothing like what I asked for--TEASY balayage, not zebra stripes! I was absolutely devastated. I trusted them, and they RUINED my hair. I'm still traumatized and thank GOD I went to a different hair salon to fix it. And to top it off, when I asked for a refund, the owner said no, unless I went there and they fixed it AS IF I had the confidence and trust them with my hair again, HECK NO, no apology, no accountability, nothing. I've never felt so disappointed by a business. Save yourself the heartbreak and stay far, far away from this place. Total nightmare!! read more

DO NOT BOOK ANY APPOINTMENT WITH JACKIE. They schedule their own appointments and Jackie often forgets to make note of her appointments. I went in April 11,2025 for a 12PM appointment for which she forgot to write on her schedule but I was not the only one she forgot. There were two of us and the other client and myself shared stories about Jackie's lackadaisical attitude about her clients, she continually runs late, doesn't record her appoints. Very frustrating when your day is planned around a color and cut. I do like the salon, but do yourself a favor book with anyone but JACKIE. She is going to nursing school so she will only be doing hair for a while longer and it is obvious her heart is no longer with her clients and hair!! Being new to the area, and moving from out of state where I had the same hair dresser for the past 10 years, it was very challenging to find a high quality, customer service oriented, hair salon. Spent hours reading reviews and looking through photos, and made an appointment at Halo Hair salon. It did not disappoint! Elizabeth F was professional, personable, and provided high quality service. At the end she provided me with her cell phone number which I have never heard of before, in case I had questions or concerns, or need to reschedule future appointments. I dont know that I have ever walked out of a place like I just did Halo. If you cant even be bothered to greet a client why on earth would I let you cut my hair? I had a 245 appointment that I was about 15 mins early for. This being my 1st visit I gave myself the 30 mins Google suggested. When I walked in not one of the 4 stylist greeted me. As I waited no one waved, said hello or acknowledged my presence. To the point of being almost comical. At one point one of the stylist literally leaned OVER me to get some products she was selling to another customer. Not a "Hi there" or even a pardon my reach. She then took that customers payment and without even looking at me turned her back, went to her station and began cleaning up after her previous client! Again not even a hello in the 10 minutes I was in the tiny salon. When I approached them to let them know I was their 245 but that I was cancelling they acted shocked! read more

Update: I just saw the salon response and I want to put my two cents in. It's been a year, and my hair is just now past my ears. So when I went in the second time, my hair was NOT long enough for the full price and Madison DIDNT cut enough of my hair to even have to sweep up. She didn't style it, even it or really do anything. Including the shampoo I was there a total of 15 minutes. Absolutely not worth $40. My hair would have still been at a length to charge less. You're focusing on the wrong part of this problem. You as the owner focused on the money you think you deserve and instead of clarifying the value (I'm sorry, a sideburn trim and leaving looking awful with horrid layers with no change as I go from fully shaved head 3 months prior to ponytail is never worth $40). Demi said EVENTUALLY she'd have to charge me the full amount. Honestly, I'd have gone back once a month through the grow out process if I was charged the lesser amount. You would have made $25+x12 vs $65 for two visits. I went to a different salon a week later and had them fix it, and they did just fine.... for a lot less. The main point is that I was charged $40 for what amounted to 5 scissor snips and some product and I cried when I got home because I looked awful. Sorry, bad review stands and honestly, gets worse due to your terrible response. Changed to One Star. read more

Help? Was trying to ask a community question but Yelp said it was too long and that I should post it as a review instead. So hopefully I could still get some feedback this way. Worth a shot. Also moved to Tucson,Az back in 2014 and never obtained a stylist. I'm so sad. I have Sally's clip in extensions and used bleach blonde kit for about 3 years now Really need a non judgmental stylist that will help me. I'd love to have soft hair, to not feel so horrible with tears in my eyes every time I have to take my extensions out. It's gotten so bad sometimes I sleep with my clip in extensions so that when my boys get up in the morning they don't see my awful dry supper short fried hair. I'm embarrassed. I'd like more permanent extensions to get my real hair healthy. But can it be affordable? read more

I was looking for a stylist as I am relatively new to Oro Valley and so read the positive reviews for Halo and called for a booking. I was booked with Jacqueline Moreno for a few days later. I am fairly picky about the way my short hair is cut and so it was a bit scary to go to someone new. She listened carefully to what I wanted, corrected some of the self-made home trimming I had given myself during the pandemic (!) and gave me one of the best cuts I've had in several years! The proof is always the next day when you fix your own hair and I was very happy with the way it turned out! I definitely recommend her and am going back in a few weeks for highlights and a trim. read more

The only reason why the salon is not getting 1 star is because my color looks good and the owner is very nice. I went in today and asked for the third time to get a short flippy haircut. My hair got butchered by Madyson. She let me leave the salon with a large area of dye on my neck (because she chopped my hair too short), and I admit I did call to complain loudly. However, my words were, and I quote, "How could you let me leave looking like this???" When I went in to get it fixed, she had the gall to say she wasn't going to take any more of my "verbal abuse." Seriously? I didn't insult anyone or say a single bad word. I was flabbergasted that she would not only butcher my hair but to add insult to injury, she let me leave with hair dye all over the back of my neck! And she wants to try and twist it like I AM the one who is wrong. Well, people who mess up try to put others on the defensive to distract from their errors. I will post first what I asked for, which is a style that I have had for ~8 of the last 10 years from stylists in Florida and California, and it works beautifully with my hair. The second is the ultra short cut I got (she actually had to trim the hair on my neck it is so short). I was new to the area and very skeptical on where to go for a hair cut. I have read quite a few reviews for different salons in the area and none stood out to me. I somehow missed this salon, my husband had sent it to me and I called to book an appointment. I had called one day and there was no answer, they may have been closed already or busy as the message said their receptionist was out for maternity leave. I called again at 2pm the next day, and was able to get an appointment the same day at 5:15. Upon pulling up to the salon I was nervous, BUT for no reason! I just love my hair and have had very bad cuts in the past. My appointment was with Demi, I was beyond pleased with my cut! She made me feel comfortable from the time she introduced herself to me. She kept a conversation going and makes you feel very welcomed which is how a salon stylist should be. I told her I needed a trim and she just did a trim, most stylists do way more then a trim and I end up with short hair. I read the Yelp reviews and booked my appointment online through Yelp (very very easy and convenient, esp since I booked it on a Saturday night and the salon was closed Sunday and Monday and the appt was Tuesday). Went here on a whim during my vacation and got paired up with Nicole. I wanted to do an ombre on my hair and get it trimmed for this hot weather. She is wonderful at what she does! Her technique for ombre-ing is unique and leaves more of a natural finish versus the 'halo' that you see on some ombres. If you're looking for someone who is both professional and fun check her out! I've been to hair salons all over the country and every time I walk out disappointed and frustrated (I normally end up going back for a re-do or touch up). Most of the time it's because they cut off too much length, colored it incorrectly, and/or the staff was just rude and snooty. This is the first time I actually felt comfortable and welcome in a hair salon. I'm not the type of person that walks around in high heels, all dolled up, and I still felt perfectly fine chit chatting and explaining exactly what I wanted. I have difficult hair (a lot of fine hair that straightens easily, curls naturally, and is prone to frizz). I was lucky to get Demi. She was extremely patient, personable, and meticulous in her cut and coloring. She treats her job like art (the cut) and chemistry (the color). I'm very happy with her work and will definitely go back again in the future. The rest of the staff is just as friendly and the salon is clean, open, and simple. The price was also slightly less expensive than some of the other, larger (snootier) salons down the road. Go here! You won't be disappointed. read more
