Wtfff?! Her haircut is so cute so I'm like alright I'll go, I reserve and go to the new employee. I showed the new employee pictures of what I want, it's pretty clear It's pixie cut, she doesn't suggest or say anything about it, she's basically giving a green light and I'm putting my trust on this chick. Ok she washes my hair and we get to cutting, I never had my hair super short, like ever, so I'm trying to trust the process of it. Until the end she dries my hair and then tells me she can't achieve the cut I wanted RIGHT AFTER CUTTING MY HAIR. Why? Because I have too much a hair?? like what?? You're telling me this AFTER?? Like ok, I have too much hair why didn't you say anything throughout the cut?? It's a bit short, above my shoulders but NOT pixie cut type of short. I told her to cut a bit more and there still wasn't much of a difference. At that point I didn't want her to touch anything else, it's already messed up. I've been to other salons, where they communicate BEFORE the cut, suggested different alternatives to certain styles BEFORE OR DURING cutting... she just okayed to my suggestion/photos I showed THEN communicated AFTER CUTTING IT. I arrived on time to my appointment, after driving 20 minutes from home and paying for parking only to be seated and looked over by the female stylist several times sighing and going back and forth between saying she could and could not cut my hair. She gave no particular reason, just kept touching it and looking at and repeatedly went back and forth until after ten minutes of being prodded like a zoo animal decided enough was enough. I was able to book a last minute appointment at M Salon in Eastchester and they gave me EXACTLY the shoulder length cut and style I wanted in less than an hour with only a picture and a few words for direction. Very DISAPPOINTED in Salon Shige as my 3-year old son had a great haircut experience with the owner a few months back that prompted me to try them for my own hair. I've had my hair cut and styled almost exclusively in the past ten years by Japanese salons in NYC, so I really can't figure out why this one salon found my hair difficult to work with. Looking at the pictures of the other customers, my hair is similar to many of their past customers. Oh well. My son won't be returning either.
