Moving from the city up north I really struggled to find myself to keep going into the city for a decent manicure . I had tried a couple of places in Westchester area and was never pleased. Two years later I am still a regular at The Nail Concierge with Alexi, the owner. In fact, I've started going for regular manicures AND pedicures and am loving my nails from head to toe. I come every two weeks and look forward to each and every appointment. Over the past couple years I've gotten to know Alexi well and have great conversations about life, business, etc.--or if I'm feeling tired I just relax and have a peaceful, quiet session. Because I opt for gel manicures (which last a solid two weeks without chipping) my hands always look great and help me to look polished and put together every single day. I love Alexi's classic spa pedicure, which includes a whole-foot filling, foot bath and a lengthy massage while reclined in an outrageously comfy chair--heaven! During a 4-5 month period spent away from White Plains I tried many different nail salons looking for the service I received from The Nail Concierge, but it just isn't out there. Alexi carries the gel and regular polish colors for new OPI releases on a regular basis. Want a gel manicure from the brand new 2017 spring/summer collection? She's got it! You won't find gel selections like that elsewhere. I hated looking through the samples of nail colors at other salons with swatches from who-knows-which brand from who-knows-how-long-ago and then asking for number 14. At other salons, the application and removal of gel polish was all to often horrendous compared to Alexi's work. From other places I have received very thick gel manicures that didn't last because of the poor application technique. And because so many of those other salons want to rush you out the door, the technicians don't soak long enough and literally scrape most of the polish off along with some of your own nail. That is unhealthy and unpleasant. No thanks. Alexi takes the time to do a quality, professional job in order to keep your nails healthy and looking beautiful. She has a lot of other services as well, including other nail polish application techniques to suit whatever look you're craving. What a unique service. This is a one-on-one nail studio. It is definitely different than any other nail salons you probably have gone to, it definitely was for me. But don't let that deter you from coming here. First off, the selection of products is much extensive than most nail salons and the quality is high. Secondly, and not to get too nerdy here, but Lexie did her research and has a method of applying polish that is so different and cool and EVIDENCE BASED to make sure your nails don't chip. Now that is very cool. Everything she does to you, her process and products are chosen for their quality and ability to do your nails good. Now, I get the new OPI gel-like polish that lasts as long as gel but is removed like regular polish. Service was good and fast. The only thing I regret is not having enough time to let my nails dry fully. That's something you should ask when you come because there isn't space to hang out to let your nails dry. JUST FABULOUS I was very nervous about trying YET ANOTHER nail salon. I have been to 6 salons in 8 years since I moved to Westchester. I had awful experiences in other salons. Rough treatment of my hands and feet, feeling rushed, too much waiting around, constantly changing nail techs, who talked me into all kinds of services I didn't need. Being ignored, and not listening to my wishes. My nail beds were wrecked from the gels, the poor and cheap removals, and all the other bad treatments I had received. My previous experiences were uncomfortable, unprofessional, and I was well and truly fed up. However, I really missed getting my nails done. I read all the reviews on the Nail Concierge, and was impressed. I wanted to give it a try! As I walked in, I was so very pleased to find a bright, clean, small, and intimate salon, with just myself and Lexi. The service was prompt, no sitting around waiting here! I relaxed to light jazz music (so different to loud and annoying dance music that I had been used to). This was unlike any experience I have ever had before. Lexi was friendly, but professional. You can chat with her, or she will leave you to relax, read, sleep, or whatever you wish. The service is ALL about the client's comfort. I had a list of questions. Not a good experience. I wouldn't recommend going here. I called to book an appt and she referred me to the website, which should have let me know the customer service I should expect. I booked a 25.00 pedicure appoint thinking I was getting a pedicure. I paid 25.00 to have my feet put in a plastic basin and my polish changed. My feet were not scrubbed, she stated she didn't work with acrylic. I tried to leave because I didn't feel this was the right location for my needs and she said she'd still charge me. So for services that you weren't providing you were going to charge, in addition she didn't do anything I could have done. I could have polished my own nails for 25.00. Wow, I had the best pedicure of my life today! Alexia is simply phenomenal. I have cerebral palsy, which makes my toes twitch. This irritates so many people at salons I've been to previously. Alexia was kind, patient, and made me feel at ease. I've had nail technicians smack my toes to make them stop twitching - which totally doesn't work. I also have cancer. I'm on a maintenance chemo that will hopefully keep my cancer dormant for a long long time. My feet are really dry, which I just assumed was life. Turns out, Alexia has worked with many cancer patients, and she has perfected techniques to remove dead skin from feet! It was not at all painful, and my feet feel amazing! Her little salon is adorable. I even chose to have my nail polish as the color of her walls! She suggested adding glitter, which I didn't even know was possible with gel pedicures!! Okay so I had given up on getting any more pedicures. I felt I was receiving a lot of fluff but no real attention to nail care. Alexia was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to like this place, I really really did. I was going away for the weekend & was searching Yelp for a great nail salon near my job in Rye. I found The Nail Concierge and saw that Alexia had nothing but amazing reviews! Rye is not exactly around the corner from White Plains, but because of her reviews, I figured the trip would be worth it. Unfortunately, I was wrong.. & heres why: I was very excited to learn that there were appointments available for the next day, so I didn't hesitate to book a mani/pedi. The ability to book services online is very convenient. I realized that I forgot to add the service to remove gel from my feet, so I shot Alexia a quick email the night before to ask if it was OK to have the gel removed prior to my scheduled pedi. I asked her to kindly respond to let me know whether or not this was doable. I did not receive a response before my 12PM appointment. When I arrived, she was still finishing up a gentleman's wax, so I was left waiting outside for about 5-10 minutes until she was finished. This was already going into my appointment time. After waiting patiently, she called me in & the first thing she said was 'I got your email'. I expected a little bit of a nicer introduction. Maybe a 'Hi!' or 'How are you?'. I maybe even expected her to introduce herself. Instead, she told me that she would remove the gel only if she had time.. and then she asked if I wanted to just remove the gel without doing the pedicure, which defeats the purpose of removing the gel. I was already annoyed. I went over to pick out my color for my mani. The night prior to my appointment, I looked up OPI colors (knowing that this is the only nail polish she uses) and picked out a few. Mind you, I picked out these colors from the OPI website under the 'Classics' section. She asked what colors I was looking for and I told her the names. She had NO idea what colors I was talking about and asked if they were OPI colors. I was very surprised that she didn't have one of these OPI colors in her salon. I wanted to do more of a neutral color (I'm not too big into colors) and she asked "why are you doing neutral?". At that point, I felt like I was being judged. I ended up choosing 'Alpine Snow' and she told me that looked like white out. During my manicure, we must have exchanged about 3 words. I kept reading in previous reviews that she was so easy to talk to and that they conversed the whole time during their appointment. I definitely didn't feel that vibe. Maybe she just wasn't having a good day. It was a very awkward appointment & I honestly just wanted it to be over with! My manicure appointment was at 12PM and she was done with my manicure at 12:55PM. I booked TWO slots, one at 12PM for a mani and another at 12:30PM for a pedi. Why did the manicure take so long? Was it because I was taken in for my appointment 5-10 minutes late? Or was it because she was taking her time because she didn't want to have any time left to remove the gel & do my pedi? Hmm.. I ended up having to go to another nail salon in Rye after work that same day to have the gel from my toes removed & then a pedicure. I must say, they did an awesome job & it literally only took them 5 minutes to remove the gel. Sorry to say, but I will not be going back to The Nail Concierge. I did consider going back after my first experience, and I'm sorry I even considered it. I feel like I didn't get the treatment I deserved. I do know quite a few others that went here as well, but after I told them about my recent experience, they have also decided to seek services elsewhere. You're much better off getting a mani/pedi at your local nail salon... you'll pay much less & you'll definitely get better service. You also won't be rushed. Alexia will continuously tell you that she can't do certain things because there's not enough time in your appointment and she has another client scheduled immediately after you are. Unprofessional. This was my first time trying a gel manicure. Alexia answered all my questions and helped me pick out a gorgeous dark purple color. So disappointed. I decided on the nail concierge because of its high review marks, Yelp rarely lets me down. I walked into the small salon ready to get my gel manicure and pedicure for my wedding just 2 days away. I was greeted and we discussed what I wanted. I explained that I wanted a modern approach to a french manicure something different with sparkle. She showed me some subtle sparkle and explained that it would be a dry manicure and pedicure. Let me be specific: no massaging chair, no soak, no anything. Fine. I was expecting some relaxation and pampering but there was none. There was an iPod playing but not even one old Cosmo to read and no WiFi. I have not received a gel in a while so as she applied my toe color and sparkle I thought it was looking cool. Then before I realized the gel was sealed. I asked where was my french? I was disappointed but chalked it up to miss communication and we moved on to my nails. At this point I did not want any issues so simply asked for a french manicure. What came next was a box of white artificial tips. I was very concerned and asked why those were needed. I was informed to make sure every nail was identical. I asked about the glue process and should have know then it was not a good idea. I always do my own french with paint and it comes out fine and natural. These french tips look like acrylics. The do not cover the entire nail and look cheap. I was so upset and the women doing my nails could tell. She asked what she could do to make things better but all I wanted to do was get our of there. Then she told me my total. $102...Totally ridiculous. I debating writing this review but after less then 24 hours one of my french tips came off. Before visiting Alexia, I almost always took care of my own nails. I had visited two other salons in White Plains for special occasions where I needed to get my nails done for work or social outings. I was never a "regular." Alexia changed all of that. From day one, it was obvious how different her business model is from any other salon in the area and how dedicated she is to providing the perfect manicure.
