As of late, bad hair days have outnumbered the good. Blame the sun, wind, rain, the ocean with its damaging salty ways. Whatever the cause...I felt as though my hair would never see the light again. Long story short, I am not a color virgin... I have cheated on my natural mousey lifeless color many a time and many a time, I have been that girl at the salon convincing myself that 'yes..i do like this color' only to get home and cry a little inside knowing that what I thought I'd communicated as, 'chocolate' or 'espresso' was apparently not what my stylist interpreted. Too black, too red, to brassy, quick fade, you name it, I've lived it. So..when I saw a groupon for a salon I'd never been to, I thought...what the hell, why not. It was right before a move, what did I have to lose. Well...little did I know....I'd be walking away from, Misty, a stylist...the stylist...who finally got my color right and we're not only talking happy at the salon when my locks are flowy and glossy and magazine cover good...we're talking, i'm still reeling from excitement two months later and seriously considering flying down to see her. Now Misty is not a mind reader...I did tell her to the best of my ability what my natural color is and what i desired it to be. Same family...just richer with the caveat that I have natural red highlights which curse me with brass upon fading. But what did she do? She listened. Plain and simple and did to the best of her knowledge and ability what no other stylist has done. She gave me the color I've been striving for my entire coloring life. If I could have packed her in my bag and brought her with me...I would have. I even called her a month later to thank her and ask if she'd relocate. For now, Gulf Breeze has her and this saddens me, but if you're close by...she's the only one to see. My only warning...don't google directions. It sends you everywhere but Salon Allure. Had a great experience here with Lindsay. She, and all others in the salon were super sweet and easy to talk to. A very comfortable, friendly environment which is a great change from south Florida. Bleh. Oh and my hair. It turned out great!! Super reasonable prices for full head highlights, that are inclusive of trim and blow out. LOVED the color I left with and the super straight, smooth hair. Which is quite a feat for my hair! If this place wasn't 8 hours away from me this would be my new spot! They also have a cute little boutique offering of clothes and jewelry. And offered wine when they heard I was there for my brothers wedding weekend, haha. Great experience overall. I would definitely recommend. read more

So I walked in pretty upbeat, I was gonna take my yellowish balayage to a more silvery ashy blonde. My hairdresser, Lindsay, was super sweet and nice and so was everyone else at first. I was kinda surprised when they started picking at someone they knew for having her hip replaced. They blamed this hip replacement on the females breast size and started asking if held a magnet to her hip would it stay, which I found rude. I then had my hair dried and it was patchy all throughout my hair (there was a mixture of silver and golden blonde) and my roots were blonde, when they should've been brown. So I complained and once again Lindsay was super nice and was totally down to fix it. So she died my roots brown, but she made the harshest lines in my hair and when I pointed that out she was like oh well you can come back another day I don't think we will have enough time. And I told her I wasn't going to leave until she fixed it and so she used a toner on the top and JUST fixed the top lines and not the ones she had created throughout the rest of my hair or the orange color that had somehow surfaced throughout this process. After all this I was just so frustrated with the lines, and patchiness, and orangeness in my hair. I started crying, like part of my hair was silver and another part was orange and it was fried. Keep in mind it was now around 5:15 and my appointment started at 1:30. So I believe Salon Allure deserves 1 star. read more

Sadly when you move or your hair person moves, it's really tough to find a new beautician. I just recently moved to Gulf Breeze so I was in this sticky situation. Solely based off the good reviews of this place, I hesitantly made an appointment (only because I have had some awful, and I mean awful hair experiences). I was beyond pleased with Misty. My first time in the salon I just got a haircut, and she made my fine hair look so full! I came in for the second time and got color and a trim. I was a little bit scared about the color, but it came out fabulous. I couldn't be more pleased. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

I was headed home for the holidays and I stopped by a friends place while passing through Gulf Breeze. I mentioned that I needed a haircut for Christmas and he immediately recommended Salon Allure. I walked in without an appointment and the owner (Heidi?) squeezed me in. She was friendly, the atmosphere was nice and most importantly I was very happy with my haircut. I had my hair done by Lindsey a week ago she's been my stylist for 3 and a half years so she should now my hair by now or at least I thought she would! Anyway she did her usual color on my hair and my roots were out at least two inches because the salon was closed down because of the coronavirus she told me she couldn't blow dry my hair and flat iron because of the guidelines due to the virus so I left the salon with damp hair and didn't notice until later when I got home and my hair was dry that she did a HORRIBLE job on my hair! My roots were an orange color and I called the salon on Saturday evening and left a message letting her know I was very unsatisfied with my hair and to all me back so I can get in for her to correct my color and no charge well Lindsey never returned my call to rectify the problem and I thankfully found another stylist at short notice to fix my hair! I gave Linsey sufficient time to call me back and she never did! Lindsey actually had another stylist Heidi to call me which was not her business! I told them at this point I wanted a refund in which I given a hard time about and never received it so I contacted my bank and disputed the charges and the money was put back in my account! While I was getting my hair corrected Lindsey texted me and acted like she didn't know what was going on and SHE DID! DO NOT go to salon allure! Heidi the other stylist that called me instead of Lindsey was very NASTY and CONFRONTATIONAL with me and Salon Allure actually did me a favor because I found a wonderful stylist at Making Waves Salon named Beth! I wish I could put the before and after pix of my hair but I took the pix on my phone and I'm writing this review on my IPad.My advice to anyone who reads this BEWARE of Salon ALLURE because they don't treat customers right especially if they mess up your hair! read more

I just had the VERY BEST cut and color I have had in 15 years!!! I have been to quite a few salons in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. To say that I was disappointed in ALL of them would be an understatement! Misty @ Salon Allure is unbelievably fabulous! I walked in with with alot of grey roots and some blondish looking highlights, most of which had turned this 'tang orange' color, with brown underneath. My hair is long, thick and coarse. She listened, made suggestions and worked a miracle on an old lady with long hair! She is my hero~and I am so happy to have found someone with talent at a very nice salon. Everyone there was wonderful! I HIGHLY recommend Misty and Salon Allure. I can't wait for my retouch! Thank you Misty! read more

I got the worst hair cut that I have ever gotten in my life, courtesy of Misty. She did what SHE wanted, not what I communicated to her. I wanted one length (except for my long bangs) and told her I wanted to get away from layers. I was willing to sacrifice inches (over 3--which is a lot) to let her even my ends out. Well, she took it upon herself to give me "face-framing" layers around my chin. Yikes! Now I have worse layers than I started with! And, ironically, my overgrown swoop bangs, which I asked her to take a good bit off of as they are my problem area to get them to go back and not hang down in my face, seemed to escaped unscathed. Yes, they STILL hang down in my face as before. Worst of all, the back of my hair was totally uneven with jagged ends, looking like a kindergartner had cut it--no, sorry, a 5-year-old could probably cut straighter! I had to have my husband (brave soul!) cut some of the longer sticking-out pieces off to try to "make me at least presentable," in his words. Needless to say, I will never go back to the salon nor would I recommend it. Misty said she has 25 years experience, but I sure do wonder how she has been able to stick around in the industry for that long! Beware: she is armed and dangerous! Run! read more
