I had a great experience at Salon 180 and came here because of Rachel, who is an outstanding stylist. This was my second visit with Rachel, and I knew I was in good hands. I haven't colored my hair in over five years, and she helped me to pick the right color to match what I wanted. (Also, I'm glad I went with her recommendation, because she was spot on!) I also opted to have a lot of length cut off, added bangs, and got the perfect styling. My husband's smile upon seeing me said it all!! Wouldn't take a chance on this salon. Not sure they listen or are capable of performing basic services. Very unnatractive as well with very poor lighting. Think it is worth it to pay a bit more and visit a more up-to-date salon with staff more trained. They were very pleasant however. I did not pay as the mistake (in coloring) was so WAY off base - I will not be able to have it corrected either - I must wait for it to either wash out or grow out. read more

My hair was very long, almost to my waist. I wanted a lot cut off and let my hair stylist know. While facing the mirror, I pulled all of my hair to the front and put my finger halfway between my shoulder and the middle of my breast. She said okay and we started walking to the sink to wash my hair. She said wait, let's cut some off first, which I was fine with since we were going to cut a good amount off anyways. I sit back in the chair and she pulls all of my hair to the back and cuts. She shows me the chunk of hair she cut off and I immediately think that it looks like a lot more than we had to discussed. When I get back up to walk to the sink, I feel the hair at the nape of my neck and realize it's only, maybe, 3-4 inches long. There's no way that my hair in the back will pull forward to the middle of my chest like I said I wanted. I try and calm my thoughts and just tell myself it will grow back and maybe it'll look cute. When she starts cutting she's asking about lengths to cut the hair on the side of my head and I told her no, not that short, I said I wanted it the the middle of my breast (the hair infront is still longer than in back since she pulled it all backwards to make the first cut). I don't know if this is when she realized she messed up or she realized it before and that's why she was asking again about length. She finishes the cut and asks about style. Asks if I want it smooth or beach waves, I say beach waves. When she's all finished and I look, the "beach waves" are my hair completely flat to the middle of my ear and some sad curls on the very end. She asks if I like it, I mumble Mhmm, pay and tip appropriately because I'm not a jerk and then I go in the car and call my husband to cry. When I get home and straightened it, I can see she did a pretty drastic A-line cut, I'm assuming to try and save some length in the front (the front was still 3-4 inches shorter than I asked for). But that's how I know she knows she messed up, because you don't give someone an A-style cut unless they specifically ask for it. I'm very disappointed because I felt like I wasn't listened to, the stylist messed up and never verbally acknowledged it and she couldn't even do a beach wave. I usually get my hair done at salon hype but they couldn't get me in last minute, so I tried this place. I will NEVER come back. read more

I have been to this salon twice and have experienced color and cut services by both Sherry and Sarah. They were both excellent at their craft, but I have to say that I was even more impressed by Sarah's professionalism and expertise. I have only been here once and it was a good experience. I should preface by saying I have extremely thick hair and most places have to book extra time just to cut it. I got in the day I called, ,the salon is clean, bright and nice inside, my hair turned out great and I felt great, I had to knock off a star because my girl didn't seem too talkative. Wow - I am very surprised to read of Karina's experience - it most certainly does not reflect the customer service I have always experienced at Salon 180. My stylist (Elyse) is GREAT, and always encourages me to come back if I felt the cut wasn't short enough, bangs trimmed, etc. The staff makes me feel quite welcomed and comfortable (unlike many other salons I've tried). And as for having feathers put in there, my daughter-in-law has had hers in for three months, and they still look great! I would not hesitate to recommend Salon 180 to anyone and everyone! read more

I have been going to Salon 180 for the last three years and have always been very happy with the service. I trust Elyse every other month for everything from a trim to a total hair makeover (color, highlights drastic cut). I also booked with Lisa for a bridesmaid up-do and received compliments all night on my trendy hair style. There is always a smile greeting me at the door and the atmosphere is very friendly. I went here to have my hair done for my wedding and I was blown away! Me plus three of my bridesmaids came here to all get our hair done, and I even had my makeup done. Elyse did my hair, and Olga did my makeup and I could not have been happier! Many of my guests commented that my hair looked like a work of art and it stayed in and was perfect all night! My family has been going to Salon 180 for the past 20 years. When my daughter was in High School another Salon in the area fried her hair giving her a perm. Sherry at Salon 180 was able to fix her hair and she has been doing our hair ever since. My mother has her hair done weekly and we receive the BEST of customer service. Everyone in the shop is very helpful as my mother uses a walker and they are always there to open doors and help her get around. We have gone through - perms - color - highlights - and many cuts over the years and have always been given the best of treatment. We live in the area and when the "feather" craze swept in I took my 14 year old daughter to Salon 180 to get them. Within 3 weeks the three feathers she had put in had not only frayed but fell out! We were told they should last approx. 3 months. After calling the salon and explaining the situation we were told to bring in the feathers. They not only refused to give my daughter her $35.00 back but wanted to charge her an additional $15.00 to put new ones in!!! I will NEVER patronize this establishment again and have told all my friends and neighbors about the situation. Customer service is definitely dead at Salon 180!!! Salon 180 recently did hair and makeup for the bride and bridal party for my sister's wedding. It was such a great, relaxing atmosphere, especially on a day that could tend to be chaotic. Samantha, who coordinated the appointments was cool under pressure and very accommodating. All the stylists were friendly and patient with ladies who might not know exactly that they wanted. They even played Father of the Bride to get everyone into the Wedding Day spirit.
